In this paper, mechanical properties of the high strength lightweight self-compacting concrete with simple mixed design method was investigated. Experimental tests were performed as such compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and density of high strength lightweight self-compacting concrete. The 28 days compressive strength of high strength lightweight self-compacting concrete with the LC replacement ratio of $100\%$ reduces about $31\%$ but LF replacement ratio of $100\%$ increase about $20\%$ compared that of the control concrete. The structural efficiency of high strength lightweight self-compacting concrete increase with proportional to the replacement into of LF. The relationship between the splitting tensile strength and 28 days compressive strength can be represented by the equation $f_s=0.076f_{ck}+0.5582$. The modulus of elasticity was found to be lower than that of normal weight concrete, ranging form 24 to 33 GPa.
The use of steel fiber reinforced to improve the strength and flexural toughness of concrete is well known, but reinforcement of polymer concrete with steel fibers has been hardly reported till now. Polymer concrete has high strength, durability and freeze-thaw resistance than that of cement concrete, but it has disadvantage such as low flexural toughness. In this paper, the strength characteristics and flexural toughness of steel fiber reinforced polymer concrete are investigated experimentally with various steel fiber aspect ratios($\ell$/d), and contents(vol.%). As the result, the flexural and splitting tensile strengths and flexural toughness were increased aspect ratio, and reach the maximums at a aspect ratio of 50. The relationship between the compressive, flexural and splitting tensile strength were high. And the relationship between flexural strength and strain energy was approximately linear.
This paper presents experimental and analytical results of glass fiber-reinforced concrete (GFRC) and polypropylene fiber-reinforced concrete (PERC) to investigate the relationship between tensile strength and compressive strength based on the split cylinder test (ASTM C496) and compressive strength test (ASTM C39). Experimental studies were performed on cylinder specimens having 150 mm in diameter an 300 mm in height with two different fiber contents (1.0 and 1.5% by volume fraction) at ages of 7, 28 and 90 days. A total of 90 cylinder specimens were tested including specimens made of the plain concrete. The experimental data have been used to obtain the relationship between tensile strength and compressive strength. A representative equation is proposed for the relationship between tensile strength and compressive strength of fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC) including glass and polypropylene fibers. There is a good agreement between the average experimental results and those calculated values from the proposed equation.
In this paper, the flexural strength ($f_{fs}$) and splitting tensile strength ($f_{sts}$) of concrete containing different proportions of fly ash have been modeled by using gene expression programming (GEP). Two GEP models called GEP-I and GEP-II are constituted to predict the $f_{fs}$ and $f_{sts}$ values, respectively. In these models, the age of specimen, cement, water, sand, aggregate, superplasticizer and fly ash are used as independent input parameters. GEP-I model is constructed by 292 experimental data and trisected into 170, 86 and 36 data for training, testing and validating sets, respectively. Similarly, GEP-II model is constructed by 278 experimental data and trisected into 142, 70 and 66 data for training, testing and validating sets, respectively. The experimental data used in the validating set of these models are independent from the training and testing sets. The results of the statistical parameters obtained from the models indicate that the proposed empirical models have good prediction and generalization capability.
In paper I, the relationships between compressive strength and splitting tensile strength or modulus of elasticity were proposed. In this paper, new prediction model is investigated from estimating splitting tensile strength and modulus of elasticity with curing temperature and aging without compressive strength. New prediction model is based on the model which was proposed to predict compressive strength, and splitting tensile strength and modulus of elasticity calculated by this model are compared with experimental values of paper I. To evaluate in-situ applicability of the model, strength and modulus of elasticity tested with variable temperatures are estimated by the prediction model. The prediction model reasonably estimates the strength and the modulus of elasticity of type I and V cement concretes tested in paper I and experimental results with variable temperature tested in this paper.

Experimental investigation was undertaken to determine early-age strength development and the relationships between the mechanical properties of type I, V and V/fly ash cement concrete with different curing temperature. The tests for mechanical properties, i.e., compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and modulus of elasticity were carried out for type, I, V and V with 15% replacement with fly ash cement concrete. For this purpose 480 concrete cylinders cured at isothermal conditions of 10, 23, 35 and 5$0^{\circ}C$ were tested at ages of 1, 3, 7 and 28days. According to the experiments, the concrete subjected to high temperature at early age got greater strength at early age, however eventually lower strength at late age. The derived relationships between compressive strength and splitting tensile strength and elastic modulus of elasticity appeared to be identical for all types of cement.

Bond between reinforcing bar and surrounding concrete is supposed to transfer load safely in the process of design of reinforced concrete structures. Bond failure of reinforcing bar generally take place by splitting of the concrete cover as bond force between concrete and reinforcing bars exceeds the confinement of the concrete cover and reinforcement. However, the confinement force has a limitation. Thus, the only variable is the bearing angle corresponding to the change of bond force. Higher rib height bars possessing higher shearing resistance can maintain higher bearing angle and higher splitting resistance when bars are highly confined, and consequently higher bond strength, than lower rib higher bars. In this study, from the evaluate bond strength of high Relative Rib Area Bars Using beam-end test specimens are compared with the current provisions for development of reinforcement, and the improved design method of bond strength is proposed.

In order to evaluate the applicability of steel slag aggregates for tetrapod concrete, the properties of concrete as structural material were investigated. The biochemical research of marine concrete using steel slag aggregates was also carried out. The tested concrete properties are slump, air content, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, elastic modulus, carbonation, hydration heat, freezing and thawing, sulfate attack, drying shrinkage, etc. The biochemical experiments are carried to research the propagation and reproduction of seaweeds and survival of bottom dwelling species. According to the experimental results, the steel slag aggregate content did not have a significant effect on compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and elastic modulus. The durability of concrete was not influenced by the steel slag aggregate content. From the biochemical research, steel slag aggregate can be evaluated as the material that is ideally suited for promoting propagation and reproduction of seaweeds and survival of bottom dwelling species.

Tension stiffening effects of reinforced concrete member with large diameter bar, mainly used at reactor building of nuclear power plant, are studied by uniaxial structural tests. Bond length and stress of steel bar, size of steel bar, and compressive strength of concrete are evaluated to tension stiffening by uniaxial tests. Problems and solution during the uniaxial test are suggested. The prevent splitting cracks, concrete cover-to-bar diameter ratio $c/d_{b}$ is kept 2.6~2.8. Because the bond length is increased as the size of steel bar, the specimen length of the D35 steel bar is required at least 2.0 m. The specimen length must be decided with bond length as well as concrete cover-to-bar diameter ratio to prevent splitting crack.
Behavior of saw-dust concrete has not studied because many people have thought that saw-dust concrete cannot be applicable for structural member, up to now. This study is to findout how much the concrete can be structurally applicated. 5mm grid sieve was used to select satisfactory sawdust for better concrete quality. Test molds size of ${\phi}10{\times}20cm$ long were made of normal without sawdust, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%, 1.0%, 1.2%, 1.4%, 1.6%, 1.8% 2.0%, for making concrete strengh of 180kg, 210kg, 240kg, 270kg which they are normally used in practice presently. A various strengths tests such as compressive splitting tensile, flexible strength behavior of structural member named beam using size of $20{\times}30{\times}120cm$ have been done for the structural aspects. Tensile strength shows that it can be more affected than higher strength of it.
