  • Geomagnetic is refracted by building's wall and pillar. Therefore refracted geomagnetic is able to be used as feature point. In a specific space, a mobile device that is equipped with magnetic sensor array measures 3-axis magnetic field for each point. Magnetic field map is acquired by collecting the every sample point in the magnetic field. The measured magnetic field must be calibrated, because each magnetic sensor has a distortion. For this reason, sensor distortion model and sensor calibration method are proposed in this paper. Magnetic field that is measured by mobile device matches magnetic field map. Result of the matching is used for position estimation. This paper implements hardware system for position estimation method using magnetic field map.

  • This paper analyzes the local specific absorption rates (SAR's) averaged over 1 g and 10 g in a human head model in contact with a mobile phone operating at 835 MHz. The used numerical method is a total field finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) technique. The phone was simulated with a conducting box, a plastic case, and a whip antennal composed of a monopole and a helix. The discrete human model of the spatial resolution 3 mm is based on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), computerized tomography (CT) and anatomical images. The near field and far field and far field patterns were analyzed for extended and retracted phone. The two methods to take the volumes of the weights, 1 g or 10 g in tissue are proposed and compared to offer a reproductive technique for SAR estimations.

  • Recently, the improvement of on-board satellite sensors covering hyperspectral image sensors, high spatial resolution sensors provide data on earth in diverse aspect. The application field relating remotely sensed data also varies depending on what type of job one wants. The various resolution of sensors from low to extremely high is also available on the market with a user defined specific location. The expense to purchase remote sensed data is going down compare to the cost it need past few years ago in terms of research or private use. Now, the satellite remote sensed data is used on the field of forecasting, forestry, agriculture, urban reconstruction, geology, or other research field in order to extract meaningful information by applying special techniques of image processing. There are many image processing packages available worldwide and one common aspect is that they are expensive. There need to be a advanced satellite data processing package for people who can not afford commercial packages to apply special remote sensing techniques on their data and produce valued-added product. The study was carried out with the purpose of developing a special satellite data processing package which covers almost every satellite produced data with normal image processing functions and also special functions needed on specific research field with friendly graphical user interface (GUI). And for the people with any background of remote sensing with windows platform.

  • A real-time dose assessment system(FADAS : Following Accident Dose Assessment System) has been developed for the real-time accident consequence assessment against a nuclear accident. Field tracer experiment near Younggwang nuclear power plant was performed to improve the accuracy of developed system and to parameterize the site-specific parameters into the FADAS. The mean values and turbulent components of wind profile obtained through field experiment have been reflected to FADAS with site-specific conditions. The simulated results of diffusion model agreed well with the measured data through tracer experiment. The developed system is being used as a basic module of emergency preparedness system in Korea. The diffusion model which can be reflected site-specific parameters will be improved through field experiments continuously.

  • The measurement of magnetic field is performed about DC and AC magnetic field in test track of depot. The test point is cap, on the converter/inverter box, on the traction motor, on the APSE and on the line filter, the height of measurement is bottom and 50 cm height. In case of AC magnetic field, the selected specific frequency is measured on the converter/inverter box. The AC magnetic field is checked and analysis through RS-232C and notebook PC. The DC magnetic field is measured by using the Hall Probe, test result is saved and analysis by PXI system. On the line filter, the maximum value is 1.4 mT in case of DC magnetic field and 0.044 mT in case of AC magnetic field at 50 Hz.

  • The purpose of this study was to assess whether library field practicum has been effective in enhancing students' practical skills, to determine if the field practicum program was appropriately designed and implemented, and to derive improvement strategies. To achieve this, six major areas of library and information science and 30 detailed practical skills were identified. Subsequently, a survey was conducted on 19 fourth-year students majoring in library and information science at D University before and after their field practicum. The study results indicated changes in the importance of nine specific practical skills and in the perception of 15 skills. Consequently, it was observed that items of practical skills actually covered during the field practicum showed positive changes. However, for practical skills not addressed in the field, there was either no change or a negative change in perception of their importance. It appears that proactive and continuous efforts will be necessary to utilize these research findings in suggesting specific skills that students should cultivate during their practicum and in providing concrete practicum guidelines to effectively enhance these skills.

  • The brain is an organ that consists of various cell types. As our knowledge of the structure and function of the brain progresses, cell type-specific research is gaining importance. Together with advances in sequencing technology and bioinformatics, cell type-specific transcriptome studies are providing important insights into brain cell function. In this review, we discuss 3 different cell type-specific transcriptome analyses i.e., Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM), Translating Ribosome Affinity Purification (TRAP)/RiboTag, and single cell RNA-Seq, that are widely used in the field of neuroscience. • In light of the recent increase in new independent spaces within the field of artistic production, this study seeks to examine the daily experience and art practice of agents in such spaces. In-depth interviews were conducted with fifteen emerging artists, who manage new independent art spaces and participate actively in related activities, and the significance of their activities was analyzed. An important theoretical foundation of this study is Bourdieu's concept of the field of cultural production. According to Bourdieu, in order to understand a specific field, the habitus of agents must be studied together with the structure of the field. This study found that individuals belonging to the same or a close generation exhibit similar attitudes to life based on shared experiences, and they can be connected to their art practice. Most agents of new spaces did not have high expectations for success, and chose to practice art independently while bonding with their peers and enjoying the moment rather than wait for recognition or funding from external sources. Their self-fulfilling habitus is condition-specific and can be regarded as a form of flexible art practice. Given the poor conditions of today's field of artistic production, this is likely to serve as an advantage in entering the field and in position-taking. The social significance of this study lies in the fact that the aforementioned characteristics of the agents of independent production spaces not only reflect the current field of artistic production but also other fields of cultural production at large in our society.

  • ZnO nanowires were fabricated by hydrothermal synthesis technique for field emission device application. Al-doped zinc oxide (AZO) thin films were prepared as seed layer of catalyst for the ZnO nanowire synthesis, for which conductivity of the seed layer was tried to be improved for enhancing the field emission property of the ZnO nanowire. The AZO seed layer revealed specific resistivity of $ 7.466{\times}10^{-4}[{\Omega}{\cdot}cm]$ and carrier mobility of 18.6[$cm^2$/Vs]. Additionally, upper tip of the prepared ZnO nanowires was treated by hydrochloric acid (HCl) to form a nanocone shape of ZnO nanowire, which was aimed for enhanced focusing of electric field on that and resultingly to improve field emission property of the ZnO nanowires. The ZnO nanowire with nanocone shape revealed decreased threshold electric field and increased current density than those of the simple ZnO nanowires.
