  • The golf industry has become the center of attention for recreational activities in the participant sport market; however, there has been little effort made to understand golf consumer and their consumption behavior using the concept of 'recreational specialization' which segments the golfers based on level of specialization in golf. The purpose of this study was to explore the differences in the relationships among perceived service quality, price of playing golf, overall customer satisfaction with the course, and a player's intention to revisit the same golf course based on the magnitude of recreation specialization in golf. Four public and two private golf courses from the southeastern state of the United States were randomly chosen from a list in a golf magazine. The 365 surveys among 417 participants were ultimately analyzed. Multiple group analysis was conducted in order to investigate differences in relationships among service quality, price, customer satisfaction, and revisit intentions between groups based on the level of recreation specialization. The key findings were 1) for more specialized golfers, satisfaction with price did not affect overall customer satisfaction or revisit intention, however, service quality significantly influenced both overall customer satisfaction and revisit intention, 2) for less specialized golfers, satisfaction with price significantly influenced overall customer satisfaction but did not affect revisit intention. Knowledge about which the determinants of satisfaction are different between more and less specialized golfers could provide a better understanding of how different marketing strategies should be implemented for different specialized levels of golfers.

  • KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School (KINGS) is dedicated to nurturing leadership-level professionals in nuclear power plant (NPP) engineering. KINGS have designed curriculum based on two philosophies. First, we balance aspects of discipline engineering, specialty engineering, and management engineering in the framework of systems engineering. Second, KINGS have designed the curriculum so that students can learn and experience the know-what, know-how and know-why level knowledge of NPP engineering and management. The specialization programs are opened during the 2nd year for 3 trimesters and those are a process of learning through practical project courses. The objectives of the specialization programs are to help students to learn the NPP life cycle technologies in highly structured and systematic ways. The systems engineer program (SEP) is one of the specialization programs. A practical case of the SEP which was applied to the project course for the NPP electric power system design education will be elaborated in this paper.

  • This paper aims to share the course, performance and implications of Project-Based Learning (PBL) education in healthcare data science (HDS). The HDS team of the business group of Soonchunhyang University, which was selected for the health care field of 'University Innovation Project', considered that the health care IT-based education of the current university differs greatly from the rapidly changing health care 3.0 environment of the fourth industry, and emphasized the PBL practice-oriented specialization program as a learning model. The PBL focused on self-directed learning experiences, real analysis problems, and team-oriented classes. In other words, it was implemented with three specialized strategies: 'Field Inside Education', 'Fusion-type Track Education', and 'Training to strengthen resilience and change response'. This collaborative, practical learning experience, etc. resulted in significant results. The results were recognized as being rated A by the Korea Research Foundation and the comprehensive evaluation, and the results were significantly elevated through the analysis of the student survey and the results index.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how many kindergarten parents use after-school programs and specialization activities and to suggest effective policy improvement plans based on the results. After 693 parents were interviewed by the investigators, the collected data were presented by calculating the percentages, averages, and standard deviations. First of all, the results of after-school are presented. First, about 38.2% of the surveyed parents spent additional expenses to use after - school program, and the average of additional costs was about 62,850 won. When the cost burden and satisfaction were evaluated as 5 points, it was rated as normal. Second, the main reason for participating in the after-school program was both parents were working, followed by the parents' wishes for their children to spend time with their friends. Next, the results for specialization activities at kindergartens are presented. First, the proportion of children using after-school specialization activities was 68.2%, of which 79% were expenditures, the number of activities was 2.69, and the average cost was 83,540 won. Second, the most preferred after-school specialization activity by age group was English, and the most common reason for this was that the children liked to participate. Improvement of the educational contents suggested as the most important thing to improve after-school specialization activities. Lastly, the results showed that after-school specialization activities reduced parents' spending on private education. On the basis of the results, some discussions are presented included the development after-school programs focusing on the different needs of children and parents accordingly.

Standard scales such as the Test of Financial Literacy, the Big Three, and other instruments were adapted to measure Financial Knowledge. Further, the study also explored relationships between several factors and the financial knowledge of students. These factors included a student's gender, specialization, number of finance or related courses studied, current Grade Point Average, and financial socialization. A total number of 303 valid responses were received through an online questionnaire administered to business students studying in a public university in the country. Statistical tests namely independent samples t-Test, one-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis were performed in SPSS 28.0. Results show that the overall financial knowledge of students is above average. Gender, number of finance or related courses, and financial socialization do not exhibit any significant relationship with financial knowledge. Current GPA and specialization show significant relationships. The findings of this study have important sectoral and research implications.

  • The aim of this research is theoretical and methodological approaches to the necessity of formation of innovation clusters as growth poles on the basis of statistical analysis and identification of specialization. In this research, we used methods, which will allow to analyze of innovative processes and to identify of prospective branches of specialization of the formation of innovative clusters in the spatial context. Keeping with the previous literature, the present study is determined by the novelty of the problem, concerning the formation and development of innovative clusters as growth poles, as well as large specifics of problems in our country in the framework of use of innovative clusters. An analysis was showed that Kazakhstan's regions have substantial differences in the groups of regions for most of the indicators have presented form a tightly located clusters and in the ratings of innovative susceptibility and innovative activity. This research has some practical implications, which have proved that innovative clusters become platforms as growth poles for introduction of advanced technologies, development of innovative companies, thereby providing a certain stability of the economy of the regions.

  • This study was conducted to identify the regional specialization that occurred during industrialization of agriculture. It examined patterns in oriental melons as one of the produce leading the development of the domestic protected horticulture sector. Oriental melons have been cultivated indoors for a long time. Seongju-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do is specializing in oriental melon cultivation through increasingly intensive production and spatial concentration and is now the largest oriental melon production area in South Korea. This paper first discusses the production intensification and spatial concentration of oriental melon cultivation at the national level and then examines the specialization of oriental melon cultivation in Seongju-gun in terms of land use, cultivation facilities and related technologies, and the division of labor. This examination was based on relevant statistics and in-depth interviews with main actors from the area.
