  • This study aims at the examination of the characteristics of sectional design by Raumplan through the analysis of his 12 houses in which his architectural design concept is clearly showed. The analysis proceeded through 12 sectional drawings, because of Raumplan is originated from the spatial concept which is dividing spaces with various differences of horizontal level. Through this investigation, three characteristics of sectional design by Raumplan which is to present : 1) Free horizontal variation by different level 2) Spatial division by splitted wall 3) Horizontal & vertical refraction of viewpoint & movement These characteristic seems like to including his intention to put into the various human behaviour in residence, it can be spatial clue to solve existential experience of 'homelessness' which is one of the biggest problems of modern times.

  • In this paper, a new peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction method for spatial modulation(SM) is presented. By using the matrix with all non-zero elements to precode the signals before transmitting, the transmit power is scattered over all transmit antennas for achieving the goal of PAPR reduction. If this matrix is also an unitary matrix, the distribution of transmit power over transmit antennas will be uniform and it also could retain the characteristic of avoiding inter channel interference (ICI) due to the orthogonality of unitary matrix. In case of a non-ideal amplifier, the proposed method can produce a considerable improvement that increases with a number of transmit antennas in performance. Furthermore, the new scheme achieves an identical performance with conventional one in the case of ideal amplifier.

  • Smart Work is a way of working independent of time and space restrictions with the help of ICT. For past years, Korea has been promoting Smart Work to boost ICT industry, to overcome low birth rate and population ageing, and to implement Smart Korea. Three elements of Smart Work include people, technology and space. A lot of research has been performed on people and technology for Smart Work. But it is hard to find research on space. In this paper, some representative smart work centers(SWCs) in Korea were selected and analyzed from the perspective of spatial design including general characteristics, personal spaces, group spaces, and support spaces. From this research, it is observed that current SWCs in Korea are good in providing personal work spaces and simple group meeting rooms as well as ICT environments. However, they lack of openness to the public and group spaces to encourage informal communications. It is also observed that personal space plans need to be multi-functional, and that novel supporting spaces are required to improve quality of life and creativity of workers.

  • The architectural space is the involuntary place where man lives and experiences, and as a 3 dimensional space through the continuous experience with the concept of 4th dimension of time, it provides the observers with the dramatic space imagery These kinds of space experiences are experienced mentally and perceptively through the physical elements of inner and outer space of the architectural buildings, and this space imagery is created here by all the space composing elemensts of the building. These space experiences are caused by the changing processes of the space characteristics, and the observers perceive the changes in space characteristics. The present building is going with Eco-Architecture. When 2008 sees the building,,Eco-Architecture design which hits appears. There is a possibility of seeing 16 kind types from that place. And From here examined the spatiality which is expressed. These changing processes of inner and outer space, space versus space, and unit space, which are perceived by the observer. It's way to help in architectural design and wishes.

  • The Space structures may have large freedom in scale and form. And especially Hybrid structures are received much attention from the view points of their light weight and aesthetics. Hybrid systems are stable structures which are reticulated spatial structures composed of compressive straight members, struts and cables and Membranes. In this paper, The Hybrid Unit System are suggested using the Membrane and Cable elements based on the Tensegrity Unit system. Also, The Hybrid System of double-layered single curvature is presented. We analyze the force density method allowing form-finding for Tensegrity systems. And We analyze the shape analysis by the LARSH which is the program for nonlinear analysis.

  • The design of structural engineering optimization is to minimize the cost. This problem has many objective functions formulating section and shape as a function of the included discrete variables. simulated annealing, genetic algerian and TABU algorithm are searching methods for optimum values. The object of this reserch is comparing the result of TABU algorithm, and verifying the efficiency of TABU algorithm in structural optimization design field. For the purpose, this study used a solid truss of 25 elements having 10 nodes, and size optimization for each constraint and load condition of Geodesic one, and shape optimization of Cable Dome for verifying spatial structures by the application of TABU algorithm

  • This paper analyses connecting space of the 'ㅁ' shaped houses from Chosun Dynasty, Korea. Houses are reflected by various factors such as shapes, locations and territoriality by the social class system. Because of their spatial arrangements, 'ㅁ' shaped houses might have various planning approaches. This paper looks at Sarang-chae and An-chae, which are the common elements of the houses, and analyses their architectural characteristics in spatial arrangements and territoriality. The territoriality was formed by the combination of Chae and Madang. The spatial arrangement was formed by the social norms of its time. Hengrang-chae and Dam-jang, which were located in-between Chae and Madang, limit territoriality by providing privacy and interrupting the circulation.

  • Change detection technology, which discovers the change information on the surface of the earth by comparing and analyzing multi-temporal satellite images, can be usefully applied to the various fields, such as environmental inspection, urban planning, forest policy, updating of geographical information and the military usage. In this paper, we introduce a change detection system that can extract and analyze change elements from high-resolution satellite imagery as well as low- or middle-resolution satellite imagery. The developed system provides not only 7 pixelbased methods that can be used to detect change from low- or middle-resolution satellite images but also a float window concept that can be used in manual change detection from highresolution satellite images. This system enables fast access to the very large image, because it is constituted by OGC grid coverage components. Also new change detection algorithms can be easily added into this system if once they are made into grid coverage components.

  • There are no immutable phenomena in reality. A lot of applications are dealing with data characterized by spatial and temporal and/or uncertain features. Currently, there has no any data model accommodating enough those three elements of spatial objects to directly use in application systems. For such reasons, we introduce a fuzzy spatio -temporal data model (FSTDM) and a method of integrating temporal and fuzzy spatial operators in a unified manner to create fuzzy spatio -temporal (FST) operators. With these operators, complex query expression will become concise. Our research is feasible to apply to the management systems and query processor of natural resource data, weather information, graphic information, and so on.

  • This paper offers new ways to learn about popular places in the city. Using locational data from Social Media platforms platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, along with participatory field visits and combining insights from architecture and urban design literature, this study reveals popular socio-spatial clusters in the City of Chicago. Locational data of photographs were visualized by using Geographic Information Systems and helped in producing heat maps that showed the spatial distribution of posted photographs. Geo-intensity of photographs illustrated areas that are most popularly visited in the city. The study's results indicate that the city's skyscrapers along open spaces are major elements of image formation. Findings also elucidate that Social Media plays an important role in promoting places; and thereby, sustaining a greater interest and stream of visitors. Consequently, planners should tap into public's digital engagement in city places to improve tourism and economy.
