  • In this study we have measured the activity coefficients of NaCl in solution by E.M.F. method, depending upon MacInnes' equation at 25 dog. The cell (electrodes) is same as MacInnes' except the cock which was designed by ourselves as figure 1.Additionally, we have calculated the hydration number of NaCl from the activity coefficients using Robinson's equation and ionic hydration number according to our new formula $\frac{n_M{^+}+0.8}{n_A{^-}-0.1}=n_{MA}$, which was mentioned our former thesis. We also have calculated the hydration number of some salts from the ionic hydration number using upper formula and have got reasonable series match with other's value. As the results of our studying, we conclude it as follow;1) Liquid junction potential depend only on the bulk concentration of the both solution.2) The formula $\frac{n_M{^+}+0.8}{{n_A{^-}}-0.1}=n_{MA}$ is reasonable one in deducing to ionic hydration number.3) From upper relation, we can calculate the hydration number of unknown salts from it's ionic hydration numbers.

  • Purpose: Many doctors have difficulty in deciding the treatment duration in trauma patients to write in the casualty medical certificate. We tried to find a solution for this problem by using abbreviated injury scale (AIS). Methods: A total of 39 patients treated in our regional trauma center who requested an author to write treatment duration on casualty medical certificate from January 2014 to April 2017 were included. And the treatment duration was decided based on the PARK Formula (AIS). PARK Formula $(AIS)=(AIS{\times}2){\sim}([AIS{\times}2]+2)$ Results: Among 39 patients included and 36 (92.3%) had treatment duration on casualty medical certificate within the range of treatment duration calculated by PARK Formula (AIS). Compared to the PARK Formula (AIS), the mean value was 0.13 week (0.90 day) smaller. Comparing the treatment duration between Korean Medical Association (KMA) guideline and PARK Formula (AIS), only 22 patients (56.4%) showed agreement. The mean value was 1.02 week (7.18 days) smaller in KMA guideline. Conclusions: For the decision of the treatment duration in trauma patients, utilizing worldwide used AIS scoring system is very efficient. Using PARK Formula (AIS), doctors can document the treatment duration in the casualty medical certificate with ease. KMA should provide more practical 'treatment duration of each diagnosis in writing casualty medial certificate' for the doctors. We recommend PARK Formula (AIS) as a good alternative for KMA guide.

  • In the present paper, we consider an anomalous diffusion problem in two dimensional space involving Caputo time and Riesz-Feller fractional derivatives and then solve it by using a series involving bilateral eigen-functions. Also, we obtain a numerical approximation formula of this problem and discuss some of its particular cases.

  • In this paper, we define an analogue of generalized Wiener measure and investigate its basic properties. We define (${\hat}It{o}$ type) stochastic integrals with respect to the generalized Wiener process and prove the ${\hat}It{o}$ formula. The existence and uniqueness of the solution of stochastic differential equation associated with the generalized Wiener process is proved. Finally, we generalize the linear filtering theory of Kalman-Bucy to the case of a generalized Wiener process.

  • This note is concerned with the uniform $L^p$-continuity of solution for the stochastic differential equations under Lipschitz condition and linear growth condition. Furthermore, uniform $L^p$-continuity of the solution for the stochastic functional differential equation is given.

  • In this paper, we define conditional integrals on abstract Wiener and Hilbert spaces and then obtain a formula for evaluating the integrals. We use this formula to establish the existence of conditional Feynman integrals for the classes $A^{q}$(B) and $A^{q}$(H) of functions on abstract Wiener and Hilbert spaces and then specialize this result to provide the fundamental solution to the Schrodinger equation with the forced harmonic oscillator.tor.

  • The accurate determination of cable tension is important to the monitoring of the condition of a cable-stayed bridge. When applying a vibration-based formula to identify the tension of a real cable under sag, stiffness and boundary conditions, the resulting error must not be overlooked. In this work, by resolving the implicit frequency function of a real cable under the above conditions numerically, indirect methods of determining the cable force and a method to calculate the corresponding cable mode frequency are investigated. The error in the tension is studied by numerical simulation, and an empirical error correction formula is presented by fitting the relationship between the cable force error and cable parameters ${\lambda}^2$ and ${\xi}$. A case study on two real cables of the Shanghai Changjiang Bridge shows that employing the method proposed in this paper can increase the accuracy of the determined cable force and reduce the computing time relative to the time required for the finite element model.

  • In past decades beach erosion has been remarkably severe along coasts of different parts of the world, so that distinct types of coastal protective measures have been implemented; seawalls, wave-dissipating breakwaters, groins, artificial headlands or detached breakwaters have been constructed. In recent years, at Bongpeong beach, South Korea, an artificial headland was constructed to stop the beach erosion. The structure resulted in severe beach erosion of the adjoining places. In order to stop the consequences, another headland was constructed at some distance, but the construction of double headland did not prevent the erosion significantly. This paper focuses on the accurate design of the artificial double headland construction. The study presents the application of equilibrium shoreline empirical formula of parabolic type to estimate the equilibrium stages of the artificial double headland beaches and an analytic solution is presented in the present study. The research has solved the empirical formula of parabolic type to find the optimum result by considering the essential parameters that influence the erosion after the construction of double headland.

  • In this study, the inertial properties of fully filled liquid in a tank were studied based on the potential theory. The analytic solution was obtained for the rectangular tank, and the numerical solutions using Green's 2nd identity were obtained for other shapes. The inertia of liquid behaves like solid in recti-linear acceleration. But under rotational acceleration, the moment of inertia of liquid becomes small compared to that of solid. The shapes of tank investigated in this study were ellipse, rectangle, hexagon, and octagon with various aspect ratios. The numerical solutions were compared with analytic solution, and an ad hoc semi-analytical approximate formula is proposed herein and this formula gives very good predictions for the moment of inertia of the liquid in a tank of several different geometrical shapes. The results of this study will be useful in analyzing of the motion of LNG/LPG tanker, liquid cargo ship, and damaged ship.

  • In the over-the-counter market, option's buyers could have a problem for default risk caused by option's writers. In addition, many participants try to maximize their benefits obviously in investing the financial derivatives. Taking all these circumstances into consideration, we deal with the vulnerable power options under a constant elasticity variance (CEV) model. We derive an analytic pricing formula for the vulnerable power option by using the asymptotic analysis, and then we verify that the analytic formula can be obtained accurately by comparing our solution with Monte-Carlo price. Finally, we examine the effect of CEV on the option price based on the derived solution.
