토지이용별 하수관거 퇴적토의 특성과 재활용 (Characteristics and Recycling of Sewer Sediments from Land Use)

  • In this study, research for physical and chemical characteristics were conducted through analysis of sediments, grading and heavy metals (e.g., Mn, Cu, Cd, Zn and Pb ) in sewers which are classified by drainage types. After that, cement solidification and yellow soil calcinations made heavy metals stabilized and then, ways of recycling it were examined. The grain size distribution of all sediments was relative graded. When evaluating heavy metal pollution through index of geoaccumulation (Igeo), Cu showed moderately pollution or strong pollution in forest and street site and Zn was assessed by moderately pollution in military, residential, and street site. Analysis of Pearson Correlation coefficient of heavy metal indicated that all items in street site have tight relationship respectively. Especially, Cd-Zn, Cu-Pb, Cu-Mn, and Pb-Mn have relationship at 99% confidence intervals in statistical analysis. Recycling it with cement solidification was satisfied with compressive strength standard under 55% deposit contents and Zn, Pb, Mn were stabilized effectively. If time and temperature plasticity and compressive strength would be standard, it is revealed that yellow soil calcinations is valuable aggregate when it has 50-60 Wt% contents. When considering economic feasibility and stabilization of heavy metals, cement solidification would be more appropriate than yellow soil calcinations as solution to recycling.

  • The effect of additives on the castability of the AC2BS aluminum alloy, which contains 35% recycled scrap, was investigated. For the wide utilization of the recycled scrap AC2BS aluminum alloy, the research results were compared to those with the AC2B virgin alloy, which is typical Al-Si-Cu alloy system. It was confirmed that the addition of Al-5%Ti-1%B increased the ${\alpha}$-Al nucleation temperature during solidification and decreased the grain size through cooling curve and microstructural observations of the recycled alloy. It was also found that an addition of Al-10%Sr decreased the eutectic Si growth temperature during the solidification process and modified the shape of the eutectic Si of the recycled alloy. The characteristics of fluidity, shrinkage and solidification crack strength were evaluated. For the AC2BS aluminum alloy containing 35% recycled scrap, both ${\alpha}$-Al grain refinement due to Ti-B and eutectic Si modifications due to Sr contributed to the improvement of the fluidity. The macro- shrinkage ratio increased with additions of both Al-10%Sr and Al-5%Ti-1%B and the micro-shrinkage ratio increased with the addition of Al-10%Sr but decreased with the addition of Al-5%Ti-1%B. The casting characteristics of TiB and Sr-treated AC2BS aluminum alloy containing 35% recycled scrap are similar to those of AC2B virgin alloy. The improvement of the solidification crack strength of the AC2BS aluminum alloy was possible by the reduction of the grain boundary the stress concentration through the enhancement by both ${\bullet}{\cdot}$-Al refinement and eutectic Si modification. More extensive use of the AC2BS aluminum alloy containing 35% recycled scrap can be expected in the future.

  • In this study, the mechanical characteristics and microstructure of hypereutectic Al-17Si-5Fe extruded alloys prepared by a rapid solidification process (RSP) were investigated. The hypereutectic Al alloy was fabricated by means of RSP and permanent casting. For RSP, the Al alloy melted at $920^{\circ}C$, cooling the specimens at a rate of $10^6^{\circ}C/s$ when the RSP was used, thus allowing the refining of primary Si particles more than when using permanent casting, at a rate of about 91%. We tested an extrusion RSP billet and a permanent-cast billet. Before the hot-extrusion process, heating to $450^{\circ}C$ took place for one hour. The samples were then hotextruded with a condition of extrusion ratio of 27 and a ram speed of 0.5 mm/s. Microstructural analyses of the extruded RSP method and the permanent casting method were carried out with OM and SEM-EDS mapping. The mechanical properties in both cases were evaluated by Vickers micro-hardness, wear resistance and tensile tests. It was found that when hypereutectic Al-17Si-5Fe alloys were fabricated by a rapid solidification method, it becomes possible to refine Si and intermetallic compounds. During the preparation of the hypereutectic Al-17Si-5Fe alloy by the rapid solidification method, the pressure of the melting crucible was low, and at faster drum speeds, smaller grain alloy flakes could be produced. Hot extrusion of the hypereutectic Al-17Si-5Fe alloy during the rapid solidification method required higher pressure levels than hot extrusion of the permanent mold-casted alloy. However, it was possible to produce an extruded material with a better surface than that of the hot extruded material processed by permanent mold casting.

Molybdenum 게이트를 적용한 저온 SLS 다결정 TFT′s 소자 제작과 특성분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Low Temperature Sequential Lateral Solidification(SLS) Poly-Si Thin Film Transistors(TFT′s) with Molybdenum Gate)

  • In this paper, we present the fabrication and the characteristic analysis of sequential lateral solidification(SLS) poly-Si thin film transistors(TFT's) with molybdenum gate for active matrix liquid displays (AMLCD's) pixel controlling devices. The molybdenum gate is applied for the purpose of low temperature processing. The maximum processing temperature is 55$0^{\circ}C$ at the dopant thermal annealing step. The SLS processed poly-Si film which is reduced grain and grain boundary effect, is applied for the purpose of electrical characteristics improvements of poly-Si TFT's. The fabricated low temperature SLS poly-Si TFT's had a varying the channel length and width from 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. And to analyze these devices, extract electrical characteristic parameters (field effect mobility, threshold voltage, subthreshold slope, on off current etc) from current-voltage transfer characteristics curve. The extract electrical characteristic of fabricated low temperature SLS poly-Si TFT's showed the mobility of 100~400cm$^2$/Vs, the off current of about 100pA, and the on/off current ratio of about $10^7$. Also, we observed that the change of grain boundary according to varying channel length is dominant for the change of electrical characteristics more than the change of grain boundary according to varying channel width. Hereby, we comprehend well the characteristics of SLS processed poly-Si TFT's witch is recrystallized to channel length direction.

  • Characteristics of the weld defect, such as a blowhole and a pit in lap-jointed fillet Co₂ welds of Zn-coated steel sheet were studied in order to make clear the sequence of the blowhole formation during welding. Main conclusions obtained are as follows: 1) Blowhole, wormhole and pit were found in fillet welds, although the optimum welding condition of 200A-23V-100cm/min was applied. 2) Zn was only detected at the solidification boundary at the early stage of the blowhole formation. 3) Most of the blowholes was started to form at lap-joint by the Zn vapor. With increasing of the Zn vapor and its pressure, the blowhole was develope to th bed surface until the completion of weld solidification. 4) The behavior of the blowhole in growth was similar to that of the columnar dendrite during welding.

  • The freezing characteristics of two kinds of phase change materials (PCM) encapsulated in a spherical container were investigated with various cooling air temperatures and velocities. The super cooling and solidification time of PCM were highly affected by cooling air temperature and velocity. The experimental equations are derived to express total solidification time of the PCM in terms of Nusselt number and dimensionless temperature.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study on the construction of roadbed with environmental friendly soil amendment agent and reinforced fiber. The special amendment agent and fiber used in this study has a function of soil-cement-agent solidification and reinforcement. A series of laboratory experiments including unconfined compressive strength, tensile strength, compaction test were carried out to investigate the physical and mechanical characteristics of roadbed treated by solidifying agent and fiber. The results of this research showed that the roadbed using poor soil could be efficiently constructed by treatment of this amendment agent and fiber.

  • Thin film transistors(TFT) were made based on the polycrystalline Si (poly-Si) crystallized by sequential lateral solidification(SLS) method. The electrical characteristics of the devices were analyzed. n-type TFTs did not show a superior characteristics compared to p-type TFTs. We analyzed the causes of the failure by focused ion beam(FIB) analysis and automatic spreading resistance(ASR) measurement, to study the structural integrity and the doping distribution, respectively. FIB showed no structural problems but it revealed a non-intermixed layer in the contact holes between the polysilicon and the aluminum electrode. ASR analyses on poly-Si layer with various doping concentrations and activation temperatures showed that the inadequately doped areas were partially responsible for the inferior behavior of the whole device.

오비탈 용접법을 적용한 STS 316L 파이프 소재의 용접부 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Welds Characteristics of Stainless Steel 316L Pipe using Orbital Welding Process)

  • This paper was studied on microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion characteristics of 316L stainless steel pipe welds was fabricated by orbital welding process. S-Ar specimen was fabricated by using Ar purge gas and S-$N_2$ specimen was fabricated by using $N_2$ purge gas. Ferrite was not detected in weld metal of S-$N_2$ specimen but the order of 0.13 Ferrite number(FN) was detected in weld metal of S-Ar specimen. Oxygen and Nitrogen concentration of S-$N_2$ specimen was higher than S-Ar specimen on HAZ and inner bead. The welds microstructural characteristics of S-Ar and S-$N_2$ specimens are similar. The microvickers hardness values of S-Ar and S-$N_2$ specimens welds were similar and average values of each regions were in the range of 174~194. The microstructures of S-Ar and S-$N_2$ weld metal were full austenite by primary austenite solidification. The Solidification structures of S-Ar and S-$N_2$ weld metal were formed directional dendrite toward bead center. The potentiodynamic polarization curve of STS 316L pipe welds exhibited typical active, passive, transpassive behaviour. Corrosion current density$(I_{corr.})$ and corrosion rate values of S-Ar specimen in 0.1M HCl solution were $0.95{\mu}A/cm^2$ and $0.31{\mu}A$/year respectively. The values of S-$N_2$ specimen were $1.4{\mu}A/cm^2$ and $0.45{\mu}m$/year.

붕산농축폐액 유리화 타당성 연구 (Feasibility Study on the Vitrification of Concentrated Boric Acid Waste)

  • 가압경수로 원전의 농축폐액건조설비에서 발생된 농축폐액 건조물을 유리화 하는 방안이 연구되어 왔다. 중저준위 방사성폐기물을 유리화할 경우 최종 생성물은 내구성이 우수하고 현저한 부피저감 효과의 장점을 가지고 있다. 붕산농축폐액에 대한 유리화 타당성 연구는 분말시료의 전처리 방법 개발, 유리조성 프로그램을 이용한 유리개발 및 실증시험으로 수행되었다. 분말시료에 대한 전처리 방안으로는 유리화설비에 투입하기 전에 고형성을 갖도록 펠렛화하는 것이다. 농축폐액 성분중 Na와 B의 함량 분포는 유리속에 용융되는 정도와 설비로부터의 폐기물 배출 처리에 영향을 주기 때문에 이를 고려하여 유리조성이 개발되어야 한다. 실증시험에서는 폐기물 투입률, 배기체 특성 및 최종 생성물인 유리고화체의 특성이 검토되었다. 본 연구는 붕산농축폐액에 대한 유리고화체의 물리화학적 특성을 검토하고 유리화 타당성을 확인하는데 목적이 있다.
