  • Technology of GIS evolved as a means of assembling and analyzing diverse spatial data. Many systems have been developed, and almost of systems are proprietary. There is a lots of lack of interoperability and reusability between them. This paper describes the development of Open GIS component software. The developing system have an end in view of GIS tool software which is interoperable and reusable. To increase the interoperability and reusability, the system is based on the OGC(Open GIS Consortium)'s Open GIS Simple Features Specification for OLE/COM. The OGC's specification is announced to increasing the full interoperability of various geospatial data and geoprocessing resources. With the Open specification, component based software ensures the reusability. We implement three kinds of component: Geometry component, Spatial Reference System Component, and MapBase Component. The first two components are compatible to the OGC's specification and the third one is designed to GIS tool software for variant GIS applications. The Open GIS component software system is developed on object-oriented computing environment, ATL/COM and Visual C++. As we made application programs using Visual Basic, the advantages of component based Open GIS software was proved.

  • In this paper, design and applications of a generalized, versatile and customizable IF signal generator that can model the modernized GPS and Galileo signal is given. It generates IF sampled data that can be directly used by a software receiver. Entire constellation of satellites which is independent of satellite-user geometry is easily determined using a real or simulated ephemeris data. Since the IF center frequency, sampling frequency and quantization bit number are user location dependent parameters, their effects are also considered in IF signal generator. The generalized IF signal generator will be very well suited for the development phase of a software receiver due to its versatility. The full access to the sampling frequency, front-end filter definition and ADC parameters also offers a great opportunity for cost-effective analysis of tracking loops and error mitigation techniques at the receiver level. Interference sources can be easily added to the generator to simulate specific environments. This software IF signal generator can also be used to feed a multi-frequency multi-system software receiver for the prototyping of a combined GPS/Galileo receiver. The test result using the generated signals and a real software receiver shows the effectiveness of the implemented IF signal generator.

  • The Quality of embedded system depends on the embedded software. As the complexity and the size of embedded software have been increasing, it is more likely that the software may include faults, and the reliability and stability issues are getting more important. In this paper, we propose a remote test tool for software based on VxWorks by using fault injection method. The test tool consists of test server and test client for testing on the cross development environment. The test server operates in the host system and user can not only test but also monitor the software by using it. The test client operates in the target system and it controls kernel objects and sends the input data into the software when receiving the control and data from the test server. We developed the prototype software and demonstrated the ability of testing software robustness by injecting faults.

  • Recently Software Industry has tended to enhance the productivity and quality with using the software architecture in software development and administration. The research of software component technique and software development methodology are just doing and making many applications. The software architecture is considered as the essential element for analyzing and maintaining the entire structure with organizing the software into components and describing the relations with connectors. The software modeling methodology that we propose is generating Happy Work Language describing the software structure with the modeling tool as Happy Work. We can use System Context Diagram, Component Diagram, Component Sequence Diagram, and they are composed of four Elements as Users, Systems, Components, Connectors.

  • Over the past decade, several types of design pattern have been defined in the software engineering area. But these patterns have not been used so often compared with data structure and algorithm. Likewise, methods to select and apply design patterns during analysis, design, and development are not mentioned in CBD methodologies such as CBD96, RUP, and MaRMI III. This paper suggests the process of effectively selecting design patterns which can be applied to analysis, design, and development for development of application software with based on those offered by GoF and J2EE pattern catalogs. It also demonstrates how to effectively pattern-based software and shows differences and relative advantages from RUP by applying the suggested process to the development of aviation job application.

  • Estimation of development cost, effort and time is difficult and a key problem of software engineering in the early stage of software development. These are estimated by using the function point which is measured from a requirement specification. However, it is often a serious Question of the staffing level required for the software development. The purpose of this paper is to show us the model which can be used to estimate a size of development team. Three hundred one software projects have been analyzed and studied for the model. First, an analysis was conducted for statistical algorithmic model. After various data transformation and regression analysis, it was concluded that no good model was available. Therefore, non-algorithmic model was suggested for analysis, which has random distribution of residuals and makes good performance using RBF (Radial Basis Function) network. Since the model provides a standard to determine the required size of development team, it ran be used as management information.

  • The expansion of new applications and business models is being significantly fueled by the development of Fifth Generation (5G) networks, which are becoming more widely accessible. The creation of the newest intelligent vehicular net- works and applications is made possible by the use of Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) and Software Defined Networking (SDN). Researchers have been concentrating on the integration of SDN and VANET in recent years, and they have examined a variety of issues connected to the architecture, the advantages of software defined VANET services, and the new features that can be added to them. However, the overall architecture's security and robustness are still in doubt and have received little attention. Furthermore, new security threats and vulnerabilities are brought about by the deployment and integration of novel entities and several architectural components. In this study, we comprehensively examine the good and negative effects of the most recent SDN-enabled vehicular network topologies, focusing on security and privacy. We examine various security flaws and attacks based on the existing SDVN architecture. Finally, a thorough discussion of the unresolved concerns and potential future study directions is provided.

  • As the software industry develops at a rate speed, anyone can copy or plagiarize without difficulty contents that are becoming digitalized. To make it worse, the development of various contents that be illegally copied and plagiarized are resulting in the increasing infringement on and the plagiarism of the intellectual property. This dissertation tries to put forth the method and the theory to effectively detect any plagiarism of the source code of programs realized in various languages. This dissertation analyzes the advantage and disadvantage of the plagiarism test software, and especially, presents a method to detect possible plagiarism by using the Pattern Matching to overcome its disadvantage. And it also intends to introduce more developed automatic detection system by overcoming the problems with the method of Pattern Matching.

  • This paper proposes a software-reliability growth model incoporating the amount of testing effort expended during the software testing phase after developing it. The time-dependent behavior of testing effort expenditures is described by a Logistic curve. Assuming that the error detection rate to the amount of testing effort spent during the testing phase is proportional to the current error content, a software-reliability growth model is formulated by a nonhomogeneous Poisson process. Using this model the method of data analysis for software reliability measurement is developed. After defining a software reliability, This paper discusses the relations between testing time and reliability and between duration following failure fixing and reliability are studied. SRGM in several literatures has used the exponential curve, Railleigh curve or Weibull curve as an amount of testing effort during software testing phase. However, it might not be appropriate to represent the consumption curve for testing effort by one of already proposed curves in some software development environments. Therefore, this paper shows that a logistic testing-effort function can be adequately expressed as a software development/testing effort curve and that it gives a good predictive capability based on real failure data.
