ADHD 치료에서 가족치료캠프의 적용 (Application of Family Treatment Camp in Treatment of ADHD)

  • Objectives : Demands for comprehensive and intensive treatment programs for treatment of children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) who suffer from serious impairment in various psychosocial areas are increasing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the possibility of developing new types of camp programs focused on improving social adjustment of children and helping parents effectively manage their children's problem behaviors. Methods : Fifteen children diagnosed as ADHD according to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV (mean age 9.5 years) and their parents participated in this program. Eight consecutive camps were held at two-week intervals, from Jun 2007 to Oct 2007 in an adolescent training center located at Chungtaesan, in Korea. Each camp program included social skills training in the classroom and outdoor activities in the forest for children, as well as parent training for mothers. In addition, after the sixth camp, we conducted one parental session for fathers and a three-day booster family camp three months later. Finally, eleven families adhered to the program. Results : All children, parents, and therapists rated questionnaires or checklists at baseline, intra-, and post-treatment. Parenting burden rated using the Parenting Stress Index showed a significant decrease, from 57.89 to 46.22 (p=.019). And, overprotection rated using the Parenting Bonding Instrument showed a significant decrease, from 16.56 to 12.44 (p=.046). However, no significant improvement in children's behavioral and emotional problems was observed. Conclusion : In this study, the consecutive ADHD family camp program was effective for empowerment of parental competency, but not for general improvement of children's behavioral and emotional symptoms.

학령기 정상아동의 운동 기술 및 자세 조절에 관한 임상관찰 (The Performance of the Clinical Observations of Motor and Postural Skills(COMPS) in School-Aged Normal Children)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to identify the developmental characteristics of sensory integration according to age and sex distinction using COMPS for school-aged children and to provide the preparatory data for standardization appropriate for our social and cultural environment. Methods : The COMPS was administered to 40 normal children in the first grade of elementary school by 4 occupational therapists. Results : By comparison between age groups, 6 and 7 year olds performed similarly and statistically in all items. Between males and females, there was no significant difference in performance of all items Conclusion : Findings from the study suggested that the performance of the COMPS by children followed developmental trends. The COMPS is easy to administer to groups and beneficial to discriminate children with motor problems, and it should be standardized.

자녀가 경험한 부모 이혼과 부자가족으로의 적응에 대한 질적 연구 (A Qualitative Study on Children's Experiences of Parental Divorce and Adaptation to Single-Father Families)

  • This study explored the processes of parental divorce and adaptation in single-parent families as well as examined how the experience of living in family welfare facilities influences the adaptation process of such families. The research question to achieve the study objective was, "What is the adaption process for a singlefather family, and what influence does living in a single-father family welfare facility have on that process?" Data collection was conducted between June 2013 and April 2014 that included an in-depth interview process and continuous participatory observations on 14 children residing in the facility. The study results were as follows. The theme in a two-parent family period was 'changes in reduction of family: serious conflicts between parents.' Children directly witnessed intense conflicts between parents and experienced anxiety from situations that involved verbal and physical violence during the two-parent family period. The experience of children prior to entering the facility was represented by "loss and confusion experienced." The theme for children of singlefather family in entering a facility was "selecting a realistic alternative." Children's daily activities consisted of being with friends of a similar age, which allowed them to play and support each other in building social skills. The facility departure theme for the children was "hope for a new life."

유치원에서의 감성교육 활동이 유아의 정서지능에 미치는 영향 (Activities for the Education of the Emotions : Effects on the Emotional Intelligence of Kindergarten Children)

  • An experimental group consisting of 15 boys and 13 girls, and a control group of 12 boys and 18 girls comprised the 58 five-year-old kindergarten sample of this study. Teachers measured children's emotional intelligence with the Emotional Intelligence Rating Scale(Kim, 1998); educational activities for the emotions focusing on self-awareness, self-management, self-motivation, empathy, and social skills were carried out with the experimental group. ANCOVA confirmed effectiveness of the educational activities; the experimental group had higher scores than the control group on self-awareness and expression of emotion, emotional regulation, and awareness of others' emotion. Children of the experimental group also showed higher interpersonal abilities in teacher and in peer relationships than the control group.

Seen to suggest ways to develop children's development through these findings.

Convergence Learning Program based on Childhood's Sociopsychological Development and Design Thinking

  • This study inquired about the convergence learning program for childhood based on Erikson's play theory and design education for children's behavior development. I analyzed the convergence learning programs of Summer Camps in the Pacific Science Center, Galileo Learning. The contents of the programs show the most used imaginary and symbolic contents that represent the real-world problems which are related design thinking process. The curriculums and structure of the programs are based on the design thinking method and K-12 theory. The visual thinking method and the applications are used for expressing their creativity and approaching the technical skills easily. The play concept theory is an affirmative way to strengthen the children's psychological and social development. Therefore, the convergence learning program should integrate the design thinking process and apply the play concept theory for supporting and developing the children's behavior.

이혼 가정의 아동과 어머니의 사회적응을 위한 통합적 집단치료의 효과성 연구 (The Effects of an Integrated Group Therapy Program on the Social Adjustment of Divorced Families)

  • This study aimed to evaluate Comprehensive Croup Therapy Program developed for children and mothers of divorced families. The research questions were to determine first, any differences between program participants and non-participant in the areas of life wellbeing, attitude towards divorce, self-esteem, and communication skills as a result of this program; and second the durability of these effects three months after implementation of the program. The subjects of this study were 41 children and 14 mothers of the divorced families. Among them, 18 children and 6 mothers, including 5 mother-child dyads were assigned to experimental group, while 23 children and 8 mothers, including 8 mother-child dyads, to control group. Both groups received pre-and post-test evaluation but experimental group additionally received a follow-up test. The data were analyzed by t-test, Mann-Whitney U Test, Wilcoxon Matched-Pairs Signed-Ranks Test and qualitative analysis. The results showed that therapy Program enhanced the life wellbeing of both child and mother participants significantly, and this effect lasted for at least for three months after the termination of the program. Second, though the effects were not statistically significant, child and mother participants' attitude towards divorce, self-esteem, and communication skills between mother and child changed positively after the program and these effects lasted for over three months.

아동양육시설 보육사 2교대 제도에 따른 시설 내 변화에 대한 질적 사례연구 (A Qualitative Case Study on the Changes in Child Care Institutions Adopting Daily Two-shift Roster of Child Care Workers)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 아동양육시설에서 근무하는 보육사들의 2교대 제도가 실시되면서 시설 내에 어떤 변화가 발생하였는지 이해하고자 하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 2교대 제도를 도입하여 운영하고 있는 아동양육시설의 관리자와 보육사, 아동들을 대상으로 보육사와 아동의 생활, 시설전체에서의 변화를 중심으로 한 심층면접 등을 실시하여 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 분석결과 보육사들은 재충전의 기회가 생기고 근무조건이 좋아졌으며, 자기개발과 사회적 관계를 형성할 수 있게 된 반면에 주인의식이 부족해졌다는 지적이 있었고, 아동의 경우에는 개별적인 돌봄이 가능해졌지만 애착관계 형성이 어려워졌으며, 혼란스러움이 있었고 파트너 보육사들간의 상호보완적인 양육이 가능해졌다. 시설 전체로 보면, 인적 자원이 양적, 질적으로 향상되었다는 점이 두드러졌다.

아동의 놀이 향상을 위한 작업치료 중재에 관한 체계적 고찰 (Occupational Therapy Intervention for Improving Play of Children : A Systematic Review)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 아동의 놀이 향상을 위한 작업치료 중재에 대한 내용을 체계적으로 분석하여 임상현장에 적용하기 위한 근거를 마련하고자 한다. 연구방법 : Pubmed, ProQuest, EBSCOhost, Scopus, RISS, KISS, 국립중앙도서관을 통하여 2007년 1월부터 2017년 4월까지의 논문을 검색하였다. 검색용어는 "Play AND Occupational Therapy AND(Intervention OR Treatment)"를 사용하였다. 2차 분류를 통하여 최종적으로 총 11편의 논문을 본 연구의 분석 대상으로 사용하였다. 결과 : 분석 대상 연구의 근거 수준은 단일 집단 비무작위 연구가 가장 많았으며, 중재 방법은 중재 목표로서의 놀이 중 놀이 중심 중재를 가장 많이 적용하였다. 중재가 적용된 환경은 가정과 치료 세팅에서 동시에 적용된 것을 가장 많이 시행하였다. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) 아동을 대상으로 한 연구가 가장 많았으며, 평가도구는 Test of Playfulness(ToP)를 가장 빈번하게 사용하였다. 놀이와 동시에 측정된 종속변인으로는 언어 기술, 사회적 상호작용 기술, 의사소통 및 화용 기술, 문제-해결 기술, 양육자 반응성, 부모-아동 상호작용이었다. 결론 : 본 연구는 아동의 놀이 향상을 위한 작업치료 중재에 대해 종합적으로 알아봄으로써 작업치료에서의 놀이 사용의 현황을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 추후에 놀이 향상을 위한 다양한 연구들이 더욱 활발하게 이루어져야 할 것이다.

연장입양아 가족의 부모-자녀 애착증진 프로그램 개발 및 효과연구 (The Development and Evaluation of a Program to Improve Parent-Child Attachment in Families Adopting an Older Child)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate an attachment improvement program for families adopting an older child. The objectives and contents of this program reflected on the experiences of adopted parents and the characteristics of older-age adoptee children with attachment disruption. The program consisted of three components: parent-child relationship building, parenting skills enhancement for adopted parents, and negative emotions mediation for the older-age adoptees. The subjects of program were eight parent-child dyads. Differences between pre- and post-test data showed statistically significant improvements in the quality of parent-child relationships, communication levels with parents, and the parents' autonomic levels. There was also a reduction in the children's social problems. The implications of this study were discussed in terms of improving parent-child attachments in families adopting an older child.
