  • We investigate the relationship between ownership structure and firm performance. For this paper, we use the 'donation' figure from the income statement of each firm as a measure of firm Performance lather than short-term financial measure that has been wifely used by previous studies. Our results are consistent with the idea that family ownership is both prevalent and substantial in Korea. More importantly, however, non-family firms are found to give more donations than family firms. This suggests that non-family firms more readily recognize the significance of corporate social responsibility and play an active role in philanthropy.

  • This article aims to examine the one-way relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the financial performance of Vietnamese commercial banks, mainly focusing on the moderating role of ownership structure. Net interest margin (NIM), return on assets (ROA), and return on equity (ROE) are selected to represent the financial performance of the bank. CSR was measured using a multi-method approach that included both quantitative and qualitative methods. Corporate Social Responsibility Expenditure (CSRE) was estimated using financial data. The Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure (CSRD) index was created using the content analysis method. Using a sample of Vietnamese commercial banks from 2012 to 2019 to perform regressions in the dynamic panel models with the two-step system generalized method of moments (GMM) estimator, the results show a positive effect of both CSRE and CSRD on the financial performance of the bank. Empirical evidence shows that the positive relationship between CSRE and financial performance is more robust in statecontrolled banks than non-state-controlled banks. In contrast, the positive impact of CSRD on the financial performance of state-owned commercial banks is weaker than that of private banks. Finally, the paper points out the limitations and proposes future research directions.

  • Both industrial interest and academic research are increasingly focusing on the need to institute a business environment whereby Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assumes a major role. It is suggested that four kinds of responsibilities constitute total CSR: economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic responsibilities. Consumers tend to obtain positive perceptions toward the companies which collectively or partially fulfill these responsibilities. Moreover, the company image transfer process is the influence of consumer attitudes toward certain brands on overall evaluation of the company. To understand the image transfer process, we examine the influence of CSR level evaluation on overall brand evaluation in China, where active competitions among global brands exist.

  • Purpose - This study highlights the inter-dependence between business and society. Various business strategies like Corporate Philanthropy and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) are introduced to establish better relationship between business and society. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - This study presents a research model clarifying the role of Creating Shared Value (CSV) and its influence on overall corporate performance. Further, we reveal the mediating role of corporate trust generated by various mechanisms of economic and social values, leading to enhanced corporate performance. Results - The proposed research model addresses five different proposals indicating that, by incorporating CSV approaches, organizations can create both business and social values. These values help positively influence corporate trust, ultimately facilitating improvements in overall corporate performance. Conclusions - CSV is currently in its early stage; it is difficult to gather meaningful data to measure its performance. However, this study seeks to connect CSV with other important factors such as corporate trust. The proposed model can be a starting point for a more empirical and formal conceptualization of CSV along with other important links.

For many companies, treating the environment and the community well is important to business practice and reputation, and this is reflected in their CSR programs. Besides, this study found corporate reputation positively impacts word of mouth and customer trust. While the mediating effect of reputation and word of mouth also positively impacts the relationship between CSR and consumer trust. • Social networking service(SNS) helps users manage, share and delivery a vast information as a communication tool. When users read crisis news in SNS, they communicate the information with others by considering not only their belief (i.e., cognitive risk perception) but also emotion (i.e., affective risk perception). However, few researches have been interested in the construct of communication behaviors of crisis in SNS. This study aimed to explore the role of risk perception (cognitive and affective risk perception) between crisis responsibility and communication behavior through dual processing theory. As a result of the empirical analysis, crisis responsibility had a positive effect on cognitive risk perception and affective risk perception. In addition, cognitive risk perception had no significant effect on communication behavior whereas affective risk perception had influence on communication behavior positively. Thus, our findings may predict that the affective risk perception through crisis responsibility is more potentially important to communication behavior such as sharing information rather than cognitive risk perception. The results give insightful ideas why marketer should reduce perceived emotion caused by risk to strengthen prospective SNS users understanding of communication behavior intention.
