  • This study explored the current implementation status of corporate social responsibility (CSR) among textiles and apparel manufacturers and retailers in Korea, based on the Triple Bottom Line (TBL). We also investigated the provision of information related to CSR practices on the websites of companies. A quantitative content analysis was conducted to analyze the website disclosures of 61 listed companies categorized in the textiles, apparel, shoes, and luxury industry. Analysis was focused on the presence, accessibility, and the level of CSR website disclosure. Seven themes emerged by applying the constant comparison analysis. Using Scott's formula for pi, a high level of inter-coder reliability was achieved, ranging from 0.91 to 0.97. Regarding the three dimensions of CSR suggested in TBL, economic dimension was relatively more emphasized in the website disclosures of most companies, compared to social and environment dimensions. Website disclosures were further investigated, based on the product categories of each company. Limitations of this study and suggestions for future studies are discussed.

The measurement instruments were developed by researcher on the basis of previous studies in the same field. The subjects of this study were female adults who lived in Seoul, Kyunggi or Incheon areas and quota sampling using age and residential areas was employed. The data were obtained from 603 questionnaires. Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 10 and LISREL 7.0. Major statistical methods were factor analysis, Cronbach's a coefficient, multiple regression analysis, and structural equation model analysis. The results were as follows: 1. Involvement was related to the consumer knowledge and the knowledge influenced evaluation of intrinsic attributes, social attributes, and economic attributes. 2. The dimensions of objective knowledge significantly influenced intrinsic attributes and economic attributes. The dimensions of subjective knowledge significantly influenced intrinsic attributes, social attributes and economic attributes. 3. • Most marketing practitioners prospect that the beauty industry, which consists of various services and product related to the beauty, will be one of major industries in future. Thus they have been paying more attention to dramatic changes of the beauty industry. Furthermore they have been trying to differentiate their services and products from existing ones because of the tough competition in the market. For scientific marketing of the beauty services and beauty products, the beauty should be able to be measured. However marketing practitioners have no actual method to measure the beauty. In this study, we tried to find the beauty dimensions which are necessary to measure the beauty, based on Langmeyer and Shank(1994)'s study. We collected a total 258 samples as data through survey on university students, and explored the beauty dimension related to human attractiveness, and derived the implications for measuring the beauty. Based on the quantitative analysis, we derived the 4 beauty dimensions related to human attractiveness. The two of them were the inner beauty dimensions(energetic personality and thoughtful personality) whereas the others were the outer beauty dimensions(appearance and style). Additionally we analyzed if the variables, which are gender, perceived social value of beauty, and appearance satisfaction, affect on respondents' beauty perception. The empirical results showed that the beauty perception in the derived beauty dimensions is affected by the perceived social value of beauty and the appearance satisfaction: 1)The both of the inner beauty and the outer beauty are evaluated more positively when the appearance satisfaction is higher, 2)The outer beauty is evaluated more positively than the inner beauty when the perceived social value of beauty is higher.

  • The meaning of luxury varies by individuals. The differing luxury perceptions should influence the way individuals react to relevant marketing programs for luxury. Limited research exists on the topic despite interest in luxury segmentation and consumer-oriented values for luxury in marketplaces. Referring to the conceptual framework by Wiedmann et al. (2007), we explored the moderation role of four dimensions of luxury value perceptions (LVP; financial, functional, individual, and social dimensions), in the relationship between in-store emotion and perceived brand luxury. A total of 218 U.S. consumers participated in our online survey using a hypothetical luxury store image. The results revealed the following: First, on the relationship between felt pleasure and perceived brand luxury (PBL), the financial dimension of LVP only showed a significant moderation effect. Second, the effect of felt arousal on PBL was moderated by the financial and social dimensions of LVP. Lastly, the individual dimension of LVP only moderated the relationship between felt dominance and PBL. Theoretical and managerial implications are suggested.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze big data to identify the sub-dimensions of ethical consumption, as well as the consumption value associated with ethical consumption that changes over time. For this study, data were collected from Naver and Daum using the keyword 'ethical consumption' and frequency and matrix data were extracted through Textom, for the period January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2018. In addition, a two-way mode network analysis was conducted using the UCINET 6.0 program and visualized using the NetDraw function. The results of text mining show increasing keyword frequency year-on-year, indicating that interest in ethical consumption has grown. The sub-dimensions derived for 2014 and 2015 are fair trade, ethical consumption, eco-friendly products, and cooperatives and for 2016 are fair trade, ethical consumption, eco-friendly products and animal welfare. The results of deriving consumption value keywords were classified as emotional value, social value, functional value and conditional value. The influence of functional value was found to be growing over time. Through network analysis, the relationship between the sub-dimensions of ethical consumption and consumption values derived each year from 2014 to 2018 showed a significantly strong correlation between eco-friendly product consumption and emotional value, social value, functional value and conditional value.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to define and clarify the concept of 'equilibrium' in community-dwelling elderly persons with chronic diseases. Methods: A hybrid model was used for development of the concept of equilibrium. The model included a field study conducted in Seoul, Korea. Participants in this study included 12 elderly persons with chronic diseases who were taking medicine regularly. Results: The concept of equilibrium was found to be a complex phenomenon having meaning in two dimensions: the family-friendly and social relation-oriented dimensions. Four attributes and nine indicators were defined. Conclusion: Equilibrium was defined as the state of having health recognition, will power, and motive power (family-friendly dimension) and having a feeling of participation (social relation-oriented). Therefore, nurses who work with elderly persons with chronic disease in the community should be aware of the attributes and indicators of equilibrium in order to enhance the equilibrium of their elderly clients with chronic diseases.

  • Noting that compatibility beliefs are important antecedents of technology adoption, the objective of this study was to assess compatibility beliefs that affect users' intention to adopt a mobile entertainment service (MES). We developed a set of key compatibility beliefs: compatibility with life-style, compatibility with social meaning, and compatibility with past flow experiences. We then defined the key dimensions of each construct and developed operational measures for those dimensions. We tested the theorized effects of each of the compatibility constructs on MES adoption. The results support the effects of compatibility beliefs on users' intentions to adopt MES.
