  • For the proper tree management of Taxus cuspidata, distributed in the High 1 Ski Slope construction area in Baekwoonsan, Jeungsun-gun, Kangwon-do, the growing states of 323 trees(including transplanted 57trees) are investigated. Tree height, rootcollar diameter, D.B.H., stem condition, apical shoot, dead branch, needle growth condition, 2-year-old needle loss, root condition, tree form are investigated. Taxus cuspidata are mainly growing at the sites, high elevated mountain ridge or slopes facing north. Growing states of Taxus cuspidata, distributed in Baekwoonsan are relatively better than those of Taxus cuspidata and Abies koreana at other subalpine zone in Korea. Damaged trees are mainly due to root-removal through transplanting, root-damages by raising the ground level and digging. Several methods of Taxus cuspidata conservation were suggested.

  • In this study, the water quality index was calculated using the water quality monitoring data of the major tributaries of the Nakdong River and long-term trend analysis was performed to identify the tributaries requiring priority management. We used a Real-Time Water Quality Index method implemented by the Ministry of Environment. Linear regression as a parametric method and Mann-Kendall Test and Sen Slope Test as a nonparametric method were applied for the trend analysis. The water quality index of major tributaries except for Migeon2 and Seokyo2 was in the range below Fair grade and there were no significant trends for the rest of the sites except Bukan, Chennae, Hogye, Yongdeok. Therefore, in order to improve the water quality of the main stream, management of the tributaries should be preceded.

  • The Daegi-cheon watershed is located in the upper part of the Han River, which has the representative highland vegetable growing complexes. This watershed has a large impact on the water quality and aquatic ecosystem in the upstream of the Han River by discharging a large amount of turbid water during rainfall season. For proposing an efficient turbid water management and policy, the analysis of the characteristics of flow rate and SS and its causes needs to be carried out preferentially. In this study, the relationship between flow rate and SS concentration was analyzed in the Daegi-cheon watershed, and in turn the turbidity characteristics were analyzed. As a result of the study, in the normal flood flow condition, it was shown that SS concentration changed arbitrarily due to various environmental factors. On the other hand, the SS concentration was considerably high in the very high flow condition. Based on the field survey, this could be the reason why the effects of the steep valley and slope collapse according to the very high flow rate as well as the source in the agricultural fields were greatly contributed. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a structural best management practice that can stabilize the steep slope and reduce river bed loss along with the typical source managements plans.

  • Drone light detection and ranging (LiDAR) is a state-of-the-art surveying technology that enables close investigation of the top of the mountain slope or the inaccessible slope, and is being used for field surveys in mountainous terrain. To build topographic information using Drone LiDAR, a preprocessing process is required to effectively separate ground and non-ground points from the acquired point cloud. Therefore, in this study, the point group data of the mountain topography was acquired using an aerial LiDAR mounted on a commercial drone, and the application and accuracy of the cloth simulation filtering algorithm, one of the ground separation techniques, was verified. As a result of applying the algorithm, the separation accuracy of the ground and the non-ground was 84.3%, and the kappa coefficient was 0.71, and drone LiDAR data could be effectively used for landslide field surveys in mountainous terrain.

  • In this study, a farm map utilization strategy for sustainable agricultural environmental resource management was derived. In addition, it is intended to present an efficient method of providing farm map-related services. As a result of the demand survey, the additional information required for the farm map includes 29% of information on crops grown on farmland, 21% of management-related information such as the owner or business entity, 17% of topographical information including slope, 15% of agricultural water information, 17% of land status information, and the addition of functions. 2% was investigated. As a result of intensive interview survey, it was found that it can be used for information on crops cultivated by agricultural businesses, actual cultivated area by township, arable land consolidation division boundary, and management of agricultural promotion zones. The farm map can be used as basic data to efficiently manage agricultural environmental resources. Since the status of support for individual farms or lots, such as soil improvement agent support and organic fertilizer support, may belong to personal information, it can be processed and provided in units required by administration or policies, such as administrative boundaries, subwatersheds, and watersheds. It can serve as a basis for executing the direct payment currently supported only by individual farms, even in a community unit that manages environmental direct payments.

  • Purpose: In this study, we would like to make a technical proposal to solve the odor problem in pig houses. Through this, we would like to suggest an effective way to reduce the odor generated in the pig house as a solution to civil complaints. Research design, data and methodology: Conduct direct visits to pig farms where many civil complaints about bad odor occur, and identify the problems of each farm. Identify elements related to odor control, such as structure, facility, equipment, odor management method, and ventilation type. Through this, the technology to be applied to reduce odor and the solution to the odor problem are presented. Results: The results of major improvements are as follows: 1. Improvement of the structure of the barn or composting shed to an airtight type 2. Improvement of the pig manure treatment structure using the slope inside the barn 3. Establishment of ventilation and cooling systems 4. Automation of the mist spray system. Conclusions: As a result, as practical measures, sealing of facilities using winch curtains, construction of air conditioning systems using negative pressure ventilation, and management systems using AIoT systems were presented. It is judged that this study can be helpful in determining the grievances caused by civil complaints of tenant livestock farms and the direction of facility improvement in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the geographical and environmental distribution of wild animals in Baekdudaegan region using field survey and GIS data. Crucial factors were selected and analyzed to understand the distributional characteristics of wild animals (7 species in 6 families) and rare endemic plants (14 species in 11 families). These crucial factors include stand factors (forest type, DBH class, and crown density), soil factors (bed rock, soil texture, and organic matter), geographical factors (elevation, slope, aspect) and climatic factors (temperature, rain fall, humidity). Finally, 10 factors were selected by statistical analysis and categorized for analyzing geographical and environmental features. Four families such as Muridae, Sciuridae, Suidae and Talpidea in wild animal showed the similar habitat characteristics with the 10 factors.

  • Dynamic robust design has been regarded as the most powerful design methodology for improving product quality, Dynamic SN ratio adopted in dynamic robust design combines two major quality attributes, the variability around the linear function and the slope of the linear function, into a single design metric. The principal shortcoming associated with the dynamic SN ratio is that the metric is independent of designer's preferences for the quality attributes due to priori sets of attribute tradeoff values inherent in it. Therefore, a more rigorous preferencebased design metric to accurately capture designer's intent and preference is needed. A new design metric that can be used in dynamic robust design is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed design metric is examined with the aid of a demonstrative case study and the results are discussed.

  • For the problem of testing the parallelism of several regression lines against ordered alternatives, two test statistics and proposed and examined. The proposed statistics are linear combinations of robust estimators of slope parameters, which are modifications of the Adichie (1976) test based on scores. The asymptotic null variances of the proposed states tics are estimated by the kernel density estimation methods. The proposed tests are compared with the Adichie's test in terms of asymptotic relative efficiency and small-sample powers.

  • An errors-in-variables model (EVM) differs from the classical regression model in that in the former the independent variable is also subject to error. This paper shows that to assess the applicability of the ordinary least squares (OLS) estimation procedure to the EVM, the relative dispersion of the independent variable to its error variance must be also considered in addition to Mandel's criterion. The effect of physically reducing the variance of errors in the independent variable on the performance of the OLS slope estimator is also discussed.
