This paper considers a six sigma project for reducing the color variation of the monitor materials in a chemical plant. The project follows a disciplined process of five macro phases: define, measure, analyze, improve, and control (DMAIC). A process map is used to identify process input variables. Three key process input variables are selected by using an input variable evaluation table; a melting pressure, a coloring agent, and a DP color variation. DOE is utilized for finding the optimal process conditions of the three key process input variables. The sigma level of defects rate becomes a 4.58 from a 2.0 at the beginning of the project.

This paper presents a six sigma project for improving gate painting quality in a medium-sized automotive part company. The project follows a disciplined process of five macro phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. A CTQ(critical to quality) is determined based on COPQ(cost of poor quality) analysis, and a process map is utilized for identifying process input variables. Three KPIV s(key process input variable) are selected; Painting Temperature, Painting Quantity, and Painting Viscosity, and DOE(design of experiments) is utilized for finding the optimal process conditions for three KPIVs. MINITAB software is used for data analyses and DOE. The sigma level of defects rate has improved from 2.93 to 3.66.

Since six sigma program was first introduced in late 1990's, it has been evolved in Korea. The number of six sigma adopting company are getting increased and diversify manufacturing, service, government. In these days, the rapid innovation of internet technology change the media industry's game rule. This paper is concerned with a six sigma applications to internet media portal service company. The main focus of this study is to introduce an empirical study on the implementation of DMAIC procedures for internet media portal service company.

최근 미국의 모토롤라(주)에서 시작된 6 시그마(Six Sigma) 경영이 우리나라의 기업들에게 큰 관심의 대상이 되고 있다. 이 논문은 6 시그마 중에서 설계 및 개발분야에 사용되는 6$\sigma$ 설계(Design for Six Sigma: DFSS)에 관하여 고찰하여 보는 논문이다. 6 시그마에 관한 많은 이론이 나와 있으나 아직 DFSS에 관해서는 매우 미약한 편이다. 이 논문에서는 먼저 DFSS의 정의, DFSS 프로세스의 단계, DFSS의 로드맵 등을 먼저 다루고, 다음으로 DFSS에서 사용되는 각종의 과학적 관리기법들(품질기능전개, Scorecard, FMEA, TRIZ, 다구찌설계 등)에 대하여 간단히 기술하기로 한다. 마지막으로 DFSS의 실무적용방법을 제안한다.

6시그마 프로젝트 관리 시스템은 6시그마 추진기업의 지식경영 시스템으로 활용되어 왔지만 벨트의 프로젝트 관리 시스템 활용이 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증적 연구는 전무한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구는 6시그마 프로젝트 관리시스템의 활용이 프로젝트 균형 성과지표에 미치는 영향을 구조방정식 모형을 통해 실증적으로 분석하였다. 연구 자료의 결과에 의하면 프로젝트 시스템의 활용은 6시그마 프로젝트 학습과 성장관점에 영향을 미치고, 학습과 성장 관점은 내부 프로세스 관점과 고객관점에 영향을 미치는 결과로 나타났다. 내부 프로세스는 고객관점 지표에 영향을 미치고 고객관점 지표는 재무성과에 영향을 미치는 분석의 결과가 도출되었다. 내부 프로세스는 재무성과에 직접적인 인과관계가 없는 것으로 귀결되었다. 연구모형과 더불어 대안모형 분석이 추가로 이루어졌는데 연구모형이 대안모형보다 모형 적합도에서 나은 것으로 나타났다.

식스시그마는 시장과 고객의 패러다임과 트렌드의 변화에 맞추어 모든 사업의 프로세스와 전략을 개선하는 경영 혁신운동이다. 식스시그마 프로젝트 선정에 관한 기존의 연구는 있으나 불완전한 정보환경 하에서 프로젝트 선정을 위한 연구는 거의 없다. 본 연구의 목적은 불완전한 정보 하에서 올바른 프로젝트 선정을 위해 통합 MCDM 기법을 적용 방법을 제안하는 것이다. 식스시그마 프로젝트 선정을 위해 4단계인 1) 평가기준 간 가중치 결정 2) 팀 멤버 간 전문역량의 상대적 중요도 결정 3) 프로젝트 선호도 척도 산정 4) 최종 프로젝트 우선순위 결정 등을 위해 그룹 Fuzzy AHP, 불완전한 정보환경 하에서의 비퍼지화 TrFN 변환, GRA의 통합기법을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 식스시그마 프로젝트 선정단계의 적용방안에 대한 이해를 돕기 위해 수치예가 제시되었다.

Six sigma has been the most influential management innovation program since 1996 in Korea. As a result of successful implementation of 6 sigma, there have been a number of dramatic quality improvement cases. However, no empirical study of 6 sigma implementation study has done especially in the service industry of Korea. This article reviews status of finance companies which implemented 6 sigma programs in Korea and then demonstrates the relationship between 6 sigma problem solving tools such as analysis of variance and graph techniques, etc and project success and operational performance. Customer survey tools, process analysis, and documentation tool are identified as influential tools on project success. Tools of measure steps, customer survey tools, and documentation tool are found as influential tools on operational performance.
