  • The purpose of this study was to investigate (1) intergenerational transmission from mother's internal working model of relationships formed in her childhood and infant's attachment patterns and (2) the associations among maternal working models, maternal sensitivity, and infant attachment patterns. The subjects were twenty 12- to 20-month-old infants and their mothers. The Adult Attachment Interview (1996) was used to assess mother's internal work model of relationships. Interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim. Each dyad was videotaped in the modified Ainsworth Strange Situation(1978) and filmed for 3 minutes in the Questionaire Situation of Smith and Pederson (1988). Mothers were classified as autonomous(F), dismissing(Ds), preoccupied(E), or unresolved/disorganized(Ud). Infants were classified as secure(B), insecure-avoidant(A), or insecure-resistant(C). Exact A/B/C/D and Ds/F/E/Ud agreement was observed in 55% of the dyads. Maternal sensitivity was related to infant attachment patterns but not to maternal working models.

  • DC traction system generates leakage current because running rails are used in return circuit. And it is very important to estimate the leakage current to the train operation situation. Therefore this paper presents dynamic simulation technique that is very similar to the real operation situation using TPS and PSCAD/EMTDC. For this we model DC traction system included in DC substation, variable feeding circuit model and variable train model. And we extract train location and power using TPS program and use these data for dynamic simulation. Finally we can estimate leakage current to the various operation condition using dynamic simulation.

  • In a competitive environment, systems design should be agile to accomplish business goal. However, there are often significant problems with systems design that is manifested in the fact that there are no current techniques to apply rigorous mathematics to semantic conveyance in the design framework. As a promising solution, this paper introduces situation theory (ST) and provides an application of ST for information flow in manufacturing systems design (IDEF0). The described work in this paper addresses the procedure of creation of IAST Model (Inf-Act On in Situation Theory) which is the first application of ST in engineering fields. Finally, we show that IAST Model is very helpful for effective information capturing in systems by comparison existing methodology with developed methodology as a practical application of ST.

  • It is not to observe that a decision-maker frequently changes his choice strategy in the repetitive gamble choice situation. This change in risk preference attitude, however, is not well explained with the existing gamble choice models, such as Bell's disappointment-elation model which is an interesting extension of the classical MEU model. This paper shows that this change in risk preference attitude should be interpreted as a systematic transition of "d" and "e", the disappointment and elation constants of Bell's model repectively. A laboratory experiment is also performed to identify the factors which greatly affect the decision-makers' risk preference attitude change. The number of consecutive successes/failures and the amount of remaining capital found to be statistically significant factors.significant factors.

  • This paper focus on building online trust in electronic commerce between partner that have never traded with each other before, the so-called first trade situation. For this, this paper proposes the model to build trust for conduction first trade transaction in e-trade(so-ca1led Trust Matrix Model : TMM). The TMM is based on the idea that for business to business electronic trade a balance has to be found between anonymous procedural trust, i.e. procedural solutions for trust building, and personal trust based on positive past experiences within for first trade situation, because of the lack of experience in these situations. The procedural trust solutions are related in the notion of institution-based trust, because the trust in the procedural solutions depends on the trust one has in the institutions that issued or enforces the procedure. The TMM can be used as a tool to analyze and develope trust-building services to help organizations conduct first -trade electronic trade.

  • This paper deals with complex system theory to describe land combat situation using EINSTein (Enhanced ISAAC Neural Simulation Tool) simulation model. Many studies have shown that existing Lanchester equations used in most wargame models does not describe changes of combat units, real land warfare situation and qualitative factors in combat. Future warfare will be a non-linear combat with various weapon system and complex combat units. EINSTein models is an agent-based simulation tool using complex system theory. We have compared and tested land combat results with Lanchester models and EINSTein models. The results have shown that EINSTein model has a possibility to apply and analyze land warfare more properly than Lanchester models.

  • In the analysis of changepoint model the situation where single observation is taken at each time point has been considered. In an effort to extend this to the general situation, we may consider the changepoint model with more than one observation at each time point. These tests are developed without assuming any particular form for the underlying distribution, we propose the one-sided and two-sided nonparametric tests by extending the tests that have been considered in the changepoint model with single observation at each time point and obtain their asymptotic null distributions. We compare the empirical powers among the extended changepoint tests under one-sided or two-sided alternatives. We also compare the powers of the extended changepoint tests with those of the original test via the Monte Carlo simulation.

  • This study explores factors to facilitate web-based collaborative learning and the effect of learning, based on the PBL(Problem Based Learning) from the constructivist approach in e-learning. A research model, using the key variables such as situations, interactions, and systems, was developed. In order to test this proposed model, experimental design and post-survey was conducted to the learners who took on-line and off-line course with team project. In the research model, situation category was divided into instructor's support, unstructured problem, and self-directed learning. Interaction category was divided into three factors; 'interaction between learners', 'interaction between learner and instructor', and 'interaction between learner and technology'. System category was divided into.monitoring and incentives. As a result, it was found that collaborative learning can be improved by situations, interactions, and systems, and the effectiveness of learning can be improved by situations and interactions in PBL.

  • This paper examines the effect of the producer-supplier quality contract parameters and the magnitude of the quality related variables on the quality of the final products. Our analysis focuses on the parties' equilibrium behavior In a quality game environment where the supplier should choose among the two production technologies, one requiring high cost but producing high quality Parts and the other requiring low cost but producing low quality parts and where the producer should decide whether to do the inspection of the parts. The game framework is employed to depict the potential conflicts existing between the Producer and the supplier because the Producer can not observe the supplier's choice and each party wants the other to bear the cost of producing high quality products. In our model, we specifically consider the competitive situation where the producer competes with a firm producing the same product. We employ the market share attraction model to Incorporate the competitive situation and completely characterize the equilibrium by using the Nash equilibrium concept for the game solution. Our results show that the equilibrium depends on the contract terms and the magnitude of the quality related variables. Compared to the non-competitive situation, the probability of producer's Inspection and the probability of supplier's choosing the high quality technology increases in a competitive situation. This is true even when the competitor's quality is lower than the producer's lowest. As a result, the quality of the final product increases In a competitive situation. And as the failure cost borne by the supplier increases, the probability of choosing the high quality technology Increases and the probability of inspection decreases. The net effect of this results in the decrease of the final product quality.
