  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics of Zen Buddhist temple's building composition of the Northern Song dynasty, through the analysis of literature historical material, such as Seonwon chenggyu(禪苑淸規), Cham cheontae odaesan gi(參天台五臺山記) and so on. The building composition method of Zen Buddhist temple in Northern Song dynasty, which grasped from the Seonwon chenggyu, reflects the actual situation of the temples in that time. And it was ascertained that, the Zen Buddhist temple's building composition of the Northern Song dynasty was basically same to that of Southern Song dynasty. And the comparative analysis was attempted between Zen Buddhist temples and that of other Buddhism sect described in Cham cheontae odaesan gi. From this analysis, the common features as Buddhism temple and the characteristics of building composition as Zen Buddhist temple was clarified.

  • The city of Dalian has been developed under varied geo-political situation since the later part of nineteenth century up to now where a considerable mutation is taking place. In this study we tried to trace the historical evolution process of Dalien as second important port of China playing the role as center of North-Eastern Region in the field of Industry, foreign exchange, finance and tourist industry. The result reveals possibility of the city to excelerate its development under present circumstances toward the opened system of economical policy.

  • In this paper, Ive investigated algebraic concepts which are contained in Euclid's Elements. In the Books II, V, and VII∼X of Elements, there are concepts of quadratic equation, ratio, irrational numbers, and so on. We also analyzed them for mathematical meaning with modem symbols and terms. From this, we can find the essence of the genesis of algebra, and the implications for students' mathematization through the experience of the situation where mathematics was made at first.

  • At present, most of school mathematical terms in elementary and secondary curriculums of Korea are Sino-Korean words. 1964 Mathematical Editing Material, which aimed to unify mathematical terms into mainly Sino-Korean words, was considered a key factor for this situation. 1964 Editing Material depended heavily on 1956 Mathematical Terminology, which contains a lot of Korean native words and displays the school mathematical terms after 1945. There are many Korean native words in the Second Mathematical Curriculum. This shows that Korean native words of mathematics had been consolidated to some extent at that time. In North Korea, a lot of Korean native words are still used in mathematics. Some Sino-Korean words were recently changed to Korean native words in South Korea. 1956 Mathematical Terminology tells the method to make Korean native words of mathematics and will be an excellent guide for making Korean native words.

  • This study investigated tile intuitive level of justification in geometry, as the former step to the aximatization, with concrete examples. First, we analyze limitations that the axiomatic method has in tile context of discovery and the educational situation. This limitations can be supplemented by the proper use of the intuitive method. Then, using the histo-genetic analysis, this study shows the process of the development of geometrical thought consists of experimental, intuitive, and axiomatic steps. The intuitive method of proof which is free from the rigorous axiom has an advantage that can include the context of discovery. Finally, this paper presents the issue of intuitive proving that the three angles of an arbitrary triangle amount to 180$^{\circ}$, as an example of the local systematization.

  • Feature-based modeling and history-based modeling are the two main paradigms that are used in most of current CAD systems. Although these modeling paradigms make it easier for designers to create solid model, it may pose dependency constraints on features that are interacting one with another. When editing such features, these constraints often cause unpredictable and unacceptable results. For example, when a parent feature is deleted, the child features of the parent feature are also deleted. This entails re-generations of the deleted features, which requires additional modeling time. In order to complement this situation, we propose a method to delete only the features of interest by disconnecting the dependency constraints. This method can provide designers with more efficient way of model modification.

  • Wang Bing reorganized "The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon Essential Questions" by adding 7 more volumes to the original 9 volumes and made it 24 volumes. And also rearranged the order in "preservation of health", "yinyang and five phases", "visceral manifestation", "treatment", "pulsation", "the channels", "diseases", "acupuncture ", "movement of the qi", "medical virtue", "wanton theory" etc. Though this, Wang Bing hoped the "The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon Essential Questions" to be reborn into a systematic and methodical medical book. Taoism, which is one of the characteristics of Wang Bing's medical conception, is revealed in both the contents of the book and the rearrangement of the book's order. Another feature is that he explains most of the diseases by the channel theory. His insists the script be interpretated in a new way that fits the situation and not to be bound to the words it self. And this also shows one of his conception of medicine.

  • "IlGumBang" is a medicine book by Kim Hong Je in 1928. It is based on "Dong Eui Bo Gam" but organizes its setup with his own view on medicine. He put importance in supplementing yang in treatment, and this kind of treatment follows the same path of the doctrinal faction of supplementing warmth which focuses on supplementing yang to manage yin. There are many treatment methods in "IlGumBang" and this is a first, in medicine books. There is a distinguishing feature in using prescriptions. Things such as using a lot of 'YukMiJiHwangHwan', modulating prescriptions according to the time and situation, making new prescriptions show his concepts in medicine. It is especially conspicuous that he put 'SukJiHwang' as the main medicine.

  • The purpose of this study finds that (1) history of the First birthday rite(첫돌 의례) and (2) changing process of the First birthday\`s dress and ornaments(첫돌 복식). The results of this study are as follows. The history of the first birthday rite has been continued vary long years in Korea, but it\`s origin is not clearness. The purpose and form of the first birthday rite are vary similarity in China and Korea. The rate of infant mortality was regarded that an absolute element of the first birthday rite. Making process of the first birthday\`s dress and ornaments was not definite, The adoption of that\`s form and elements act on affect local·homely·individual situation. First birthday\`s dress and ornaments was changed by changing process and convert of recognition about First birthday rite. It shows that the change of rites clothing contacted with changing process of rites.

  • After an overview on the temporary situation of the lichenology in South Korea, localities of 95 mac-rolichen taxa are reported for South Korea. In this revised lichen flora of South Korea, 16 species are apparently new to the territory. Voucher specimens have been deposited in the Korean Lichen Research Institute (KoLRI) at Sunchon National University in Korea, and duplicates have also been donated to the National History Museum and Institute, in Chiba, (CBM) Japan.
