3[kW]급 연료전지용 전력변환기 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of 3[kW] Power Conversion System for Fuel Cell)

  • 본 논문은 연료전지용 전력변환기 개발에 관한 연구로 높은 승압비를 갖는 DC/DC 컨버터를 구성함에 있어서 기존 방식과 달리 변압기의 2차측 출력을 직렬로 연결하여 다이오드와 콘덴서 및 리액터를 줄일 수 있는 구조의 새로운 멀티 DC/DC 컨버터의 구조를 제안한다. 이러한 구조는 직렬 연결된 변압기의 2차측의 정류부분과 필터부분이 하나의 모듈로 구성되는 장점을 가지며 레벨수의 증가가 용이하다. 또한 제안된 구조에서 출력전압 리플을 줄일 수 있는 새로운 가변 위상 변위형 스위칭 방식을 제안한다. 이러한 모든 사항을 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 검증 하였으며, 제안된 컨버터는 넓은 영역의 출력이 요구되는 부하에 매우 유용할 것으로 사료된다.

Boost Type ZVS-PWM Chopper-Fed DC-DC Power Converter with Load-Side Auxiliary Resonant Snubber and Its Performance Evaluations

  • This paper presents a high-frequency boost type ZVS-PWM chopper-fed DC-DC power converter with a single active auxiliary edge-resonant snubber at the load stage which can be designed for power conditioners such as solar photovoltaic generation, fuel cell generation, battery and super capacitor energy storages. Its principle operation in steady-state is described in addition to a prototype setup. The experimental results of boost type ZVS-PWM chopper proposed here, are evaluated and verified with a practical design model in terms of its switching voltage and current waveforms, the switching v-i trajectory and the temperature performance of IGBT module, the actual power conversion efficiency, and the EMI of radiated and conducted emissions, and then discussed and compared with the hard switching scheme from an experimental point of view. Finally, this paper proposes a practical method to suppress parasitic oscillation due to the active auxiliary resonant switch at ZCS turn-off mode transition with the aid of an additional lossless clamping diode loop, and can be reduced the EMI conducted emission.

A Compact Ka-Band Doppler Radar Sensor for Remote Human Vital Signal Detection

  • This paper presents a compact K-band Doppler radar sensor for human vital signal detection that uses a radar configuration with only single coupler. The proposed radar front-end configuration can reduce the chip size and the additional RF power loss. The radar front-end IC is composed of a Lange coupler, VCO, and single balanced mixer. The oscillation frequency of the VCO is from 27.3 to 27.8 GHz. The phase noise of the VCO is -91.2 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset frequency, and the output power is -4.8 dBm. The conversion gain of the mixer is about 11 dB. The chip size is $0.89{\times}1.47mm^2$. The compact Ka-band Doppler radar system was developed in order to demonstrate remote human vital signal detection. The radar system consists of a Ka-band Doppler radar module with a $2{\times}2$ patch array antenna, baseband signal conditioning block, DAQ system, and signal processing program. The front-end module size is $2.5{\times}2.5cm^2$. The proposed radar sensor can properly capture a human heartbeat and respiration rate at the distance of 50 cm.

  • In the dissertation, a power conversion system for fuel cell is composed of a PWM inverter with LC filter in order to convert fuel cell voltage to a single phase 220[V], In addition, new insulated DC-DC converters are proposed in order that fuel cell voltage is boosted to 380[V]. In this paper, it requires smaller components than existing converters, which makes easy control. The proposed DC-DC converter controls output power by the adjustment of phase-shift width using switch S5 and S6 in the secondary switch, which provides 93-97[%] efficiency in the wide range of output voltage. Fuel cell simulator is implemented to show similar output characteristics to actual fuel cell. Appropriate dead time td enables soft switching to the range where the peak value of excitation current in a high frequency transformer is in accordance with current in the primary circuit. Moreover, appropriate setting to serial inductance La reduces communication loss arisen at light-load generator and serge voltage arisen at a secondary switch and serial diode. Finally, TMS320C31 board and EPLD using PWM switching technique to act a single phase full-bridge inverter which is planed to make alternating current suitable for household.

단상 인버터 시스템에서 순환 전류 제어 기법에 관한 연구 (The Study of the Circulation Current Control Scheme on Single Phase Inverter System)

  • This paper proposed the circulation current control scheme in the single phase inverter system. The load experiment of the power conversion system including the UPS usually uses the passive components such as resistors and inductors. Therefore, the energy consumption is serious problem. In addition, the system is out of order when it is installed in the local area, and the load experiment can not perform adequately after troubleshooting, because there is no the load equipment, and the power capacity is not enough in the local area. The paper does the research on the circulation current control scheme, it does not need the load equipment, and the load current can reuse as the input current of the equipment. Instead of the conventional method the voltage-voltage and voltage-current control scheme introduced the parallel converter concept is newly proposed, and the validity of the proposed control scheme is investigated by both simulation and experimental results.

X밴드 FMCW 레이더용 광대역 저항성 주파수 혼합기 구현 (Implement of Broadband Resistive Mixer for X-band FMCW Radar)

  • A mixer is a key component in the wireless communication systems. In this paper, we design a mixer which is used in a frequency modulated continuous wave(FMCW) radar system. The frequency sweep range of the radar is from 10 GHz to 11 GHz. The transmitted and received signals of the FMCW radar are applied to LO and RF ports of the mixer, respectively, but the frequency difference between the two signals, which is called "a beat frequency" is under a few KHz and depending on the distance to target. Thus the isolation between the LO and RF ports is very important factor to design this mixer. In this paper we propose a single balanced resistive mixer using GaAs MESFET for this application. We first design a single-ended type resistive mixer using a simulation tool, then design a balanced type to increase the LO-to-RF isolation of the mixer. We fabricated the mixer on the substrate of dielectric constant 10 and thickness 0.635 mm. The measured results show that the isolation and conversion loss of the mixer over the frequency band is 20dB and 10.5dB, respectively. The LO input power for operating the proposed mixer is +3dBm, which is lower than a general conventional mixer's LO power. The 1 dB compression point is 6dBm.

Sustainable Vibration Energy Harvesting Based on Zr-Doped PMN-PT Piezoelectric Single Crystal Cantilevers

  • In this paper, we present the results of a preliminary study on the piezoelectric energy harvesting performance of a Zr-doped $PbMg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3-PbTiO_3$ (PMN-PZT) single crystal beam. A novel piezoelectric beam cantilever structure is used to demonstrate the feasibility of generating AC voltage during a state of vibration. The energy-harvesting capability of a PMN-PZT beam is calculated and tested. The frequency response of the cantilever device shows that the first mode resonance frequency of the excitation model exists in the neighborhood of several hundreds of hertz, which is similar to the calculated value. These tests show that several significantly open AC voltages and sub-mW power are achieved. To test the possibility of a small scale power source for a ubiquitous sensor network service, energy conversion and the testing of storage experiment are also carried out.

2.4GHz 대역에서의 응용을 위한 광대역 RF모듈 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of a Broadband RF Module for 2.4GHz Band Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 2.4GHz 대역에서의 응용을 위한 광대역 RF 모들을 설계하고 제작하였다. 무선 주파 신호를 중간 주파수로 변환하기 위한 RF 모듈은 3단 증폭기로 이루어진 저잡음 증폭기(LNA), 단종단 게이트 믹서, 정합 회로, 헤어핀 라인 대역 통과 필터, 쳬비셰프 저역 통과 필터로 구성하였다. 저잡음 증폭기는 높은 이득과 안정도를 갖도록 설계하였으며, 단종단 게이트 믹서는 높은 변환이득과 넓은 동작 영역을 갖도록 설계하였다. 광대역 RF모듈의 해석에서는 복합화된 하모닉 밸런스드 기법을 사용하여 RF모듈의 동작 특성을 해석하였다. 설계된 RF 모듈은 55.2dB의 변환이득, 1.54dB의 낮은 잡음 특성, $-120{\sim}-60dBm$의 넓은 RF전력 동작 영역, -60dBm의 낮은 고조파 성분 그리고 RF, IF, LO포트 간에 우수한 분리 특성을 갖는다.

스위치드 연산증폭기를 이용한 CMOS 단일비트 3차 델타시그마 변조기 설계 (Design of a CMOS Single Bit 3rd Order Delta-Sigma Modulator with Switched Operational Amplifier)

  • 본 논문은 오디오 신호 처리 시스템의 저속 고해상도 ADC를 위해 설계된 CMOS 단일비트 3차 델타시그마 변조기를 설계하였다. 변조기 내 적분기에 사용되는 연산증폭기의 전력소모를 감소시키기 위해서 연산증폭기내 바이어스 전류원에 차단/동작 기능을 하는 스위치를 장착시켰다. 또한 변조기내 스위치의 위치를 최적화 하여 기존의 스위칭 방식에서 발생하는 주파수 특성 변화를 최소화하였다. 단일 비트 3차 델타시그마 변조기 구조를 선택하였으며, 제안한 델타 시그마 변조기의 성능측정결과 전원 전압 3.3V, 샘플링 주파수 6.4MHz, 입력주파수 20KHz에서 17.1mW의 전력소모를 나타냈다. SNDR은 84.3dB, 유효비트수는 13.5비트를 나타내었다.

전류예측기를 이용한 10비트 저전력 전류구동 CMOS A/D 변환기 설계 (Design of a 10 bit Low-power current-mode CMOS A/D converter with Current predictors)

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대용 영상신호처리 시스템에 집적화할 수 있는 전류예측기와 모듈형 기준전류원을 이용한 10비트 저전력 전류구동 CMOS A/D 변환기를 설계하였다. 전류예측기와 모듈형 기준 전류원을 사용함으로써 2단 플래시구조를 갖는 A/D 변환기에 비해 비교기와 기준전류원의 개수를 줄일 수 있게 되었고, 따라서 설계된 A/D변환기의 저전력 동작이 가능하였다. 설계된 10비트 저전력 전류구동 CMOS A/D 변환기는 0.6㎛ n-well single-poly triple metal CMOS 공정을 사용하여 제작되었다. +5V 단일 공급전압하에서 동작할 때 측정된 전력소모는 94.4mW이며, 아날로그 입력 전류범위는 16㎂에서 528㎂로 측정되었으며, INL과 DNL은 각각 ±1LSB, ±0.5LSB이하로 나타났다. 또한 10MSamples/s의 변환속도를 나타내었고, 제작된 10비트 전류구동 CMOS 4/D 변환기의 유효 칩면적은 1.8㎜ x 2.4㎜이다.
