A model analysis of pattern shift in the epitaxial growth of silicon on (111) substrates was performed. The growth rate anisotropy was considered as the most important affecting factor of pattern shift, and for the model establishment the off angle of the substrate and the process temperature were taken as the variables. We derived a theoretical equation of pattern shift by assuming the growth rate anisotropy as the trigonometric sine function of the off angle of the substrate and defining the growth rate anisotropy factor related to the process temperature. The pattern shift ratio calculated by this model had the same tendency with the experimental ones, which, however, were about twice greater than those. It was supposed that this discrepailcy was due to the second order affecting factor such as facetting and step broadening which had been exluded in model establishment.
This paper presents the identification of rotor dynamic parameters. The solution of the system equation can be obtained using least square method. The sensitivity analysis is performed to extract optimized solution, which is considered to be insensitive to inherent measurement errors. The cosine and sine term of orbit shapes can be obtained by experiment the orbit analysis at a different speed after doing orbit analysis at an arbitrary selected speed. This values measured time domain used to search the stiffness and damping coefficients of rotor bearing.

The random signals defined as sums of the single frequency sinusoidal signals with random amplitudes and random phases or equivalently sums of functions obtained by adding a Sine and a Cosine function with random amplitudes, are used in the double randomization method for the Monte Carlo solution of the turbulent systems. We show that these random signals can be used for studying the properties of the Johnson noise by proving that constant multiples of these signals with uniformly distributed frequencies in a fixed frequency band satisfy the properties of the Gaussian white noise.
In this article, based on the higher-order shear deformation plate theory, buckling analysis of a rectangular plate made of functionally graded piezoelectric materials and its effective parameters are investigated. Assuming the transverse distribution of electric potential to be a combination of a parabolic and a linear function of thickness coordinate, the equilibrium equations for the buckling analysis of an FGP rectangular plate are established. In addition to the Maxwell equation, all boundary conditions including the conditions on the top and bottom surfaces of the plate for closed and open circuited are satisfied. Considering double sine solution (Navier solution) for displacement field and electric potential, an analytical solution is obtained for full simply supported boundary conditions. The accurate buckling load of FGP plate is presented for both open and closed circuit conditions. It is found that the critical buckling load for open circuit is more than that of closed circuit in all loading conditions. Furthermore, it is observed that the influence of dielectric constants on the critical buckling load is more than those of others.

Viscoelastic properties of PET filament fibers on stress relaxation were investigated in the solvents of $H_2$O, 0.05% NaOH and 50% DMF using an Instron (UTM4-100 Tensilon) with solvent chamber. The theoretical stress relaxation equation derived by applying the Ree-Eyring's hyperbolic sine law to dashpot of three element non-Newtonian model was applied to the experimental stress relaxation curves, and the model parameters $G_1,G_2$, ${\alpha}$ and ${\beta}$ were obtained. By analyzing temperature dependency of the relaxation time, the values of activation entropy, activation enthalpy and activation free energy for flow in PET filament fiber were evaluated, the activation free energy being about 25.7 kcal/mol. The self diffusion coefficient and hole distance were obtained from parameters ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ and crystallite size in order to study the self diffusion and the orientation of crystallites in amorphous region and the effect of solvent.
In this study, the effect of the shape error of a guideway on the movement of a stage that uses an air bearing is analyzed. The shape error of moving parts supported by the air bearing is known not to affect the vibrations of moving parts as much as the magnitude of the shape error. This is called the "averaging effect." In this study, the effect of shape error on a guideway, as well as the averaging effect of an air-bearing system, is analyzed theoretically using a dynamic-analysis program. The dynamic-analysis program applies a commercially available code in COMSOL and solves the Reynolds equation between the stage and the guideway, along with the equation of motion of the stage. The stage is modeled as a two-degree-of-freedom system. The shape error is applied to the film thickness function in the form of a sine wave. The stage movement is analyzed using the fast Fourier transform process. The eccentricity and tilting are found to be proportional to the amplitude of the shape error of the guideway. Stage vibrations are less than 10% of the amplitude of the shape error on the guideway. This means that the averaging effect of the air bearing is verified quantitatively. Moreover, if the air supply position matches the shape error in the guideway, there is a notable change in eccentricity and tilting.
This paper suggests the 2 D.O.F mathematical model of the High Frequency Vibro-Hammer (HFVH), introduces an experimental method for measuring of the attenuation of piling vibration and proves what experiments are coincident with the equation of wave propagation. As vibratory installation of piles and casings has many economic merits in the construction field, most of all contractors prefer to vibratory pile driving method than the other. Compared to impact pile driving, vibratory installation has the advantage of reducing vibration or noise pollution and can drive piles under high frequency. Experiments serve estimations of capabilities and limitations of the HFVH's excitation force and finding of sensitivity for important soil resistance parameters. Also, we discuss the HFVH that can drive with three kinds of input waves (triangular, sine and square wave) and propose the design of parameters to improve actuating performance in it.
Study on swimming of microorganisms like, sperm motility, cilia beating, bacterial flagellar propulsion has found immense significance in the field of biological fluiddynamics. Because of the complexity involved, it is challenging for the researchers to model such problems. Immersed boundary method has proved its efficacy in the field of biological fluiddynamics, The present work aims at performing a numerical study on the microorganism locomotion using the immersed boundary method proposed by Peskin[1]. A two-dimensional model of the microorganism is modeled as thin elastic filament described as a sine wave. The neutrally buoyant organism undergoing deformations is immersed in a viscous and incompressible fluid. The fluid quantities are described using Eulerian coordinates and the immersed body is represented by Lagrangian coordinates. The Eulerian and Lagrangian variables are connected by the Dirac delta function. The Navier-Stokes equations governing the fluid flow are solved using the fractional step method on a staggered Cartesian grid system. The developed numerical code in FORTRAN will be validated by comparing the numerical results with the available results.
