We propose simultaneous tests for mean and variance under the normality assumption. After formulating the null hypothesis and its alternative, we construct test statistics based on the individual p-values for the partial tests with combining functions and derive the null distributions for the combining functions. We then illustrate our procedure with industrial data and compare the efficiency among the combining functions with individual partial ones by obtaining empirical powers through a simulation study. A discussion then follows on the intersection-union test with a combining function and simultaneous confidence region as a simultaneous inference; in addition, we discuss weighted functions and applications to the statistical quality control. Finally we comment on nonparametric simultaneous tests.

In this study, we propose several simultaneous tests to detect the difference between means and variances for the two-sample problem when the underlying distribution is normal. For this, we apply the likelihood ratio principle and propose a likelihood ratio test. We then consider a union-intersection test after identifying the likelihood statistic, a product of two individual likelihood statistics, to test the individual sub-null hypotheses. By noting that the union-intersection test can be considered a simultaneous test with combination function, also we propose simultaneous tests with combination functions to combine individual tests for each sub-null hypothesis. We apply the permutation principle to obtain the null distributions. We then provide an example to illustrate our proposed procedure and compare the efficiency among the proposed tests through a simulation study. We discuss some interesting features related to the simultaneous test as concluding remarks. Finally we show the expression of the likelihood ratio statistic with a product of two individual likelihood ratio statistics.

In this study, we propose a nonparametric simultaneous test procedure for the location translation and scale parameters. We consider the Wilcoxon rank sum test for the location translation parameter and the Mood test for the scale parameter with the quadratic and maximal types of combining functions. Then we derive the limiting null distributions of the combining functions. We illustrate our procedure with an example and compare efficiency by obtaining the empirical powers through a simulation study. Finally, we discuss some interesting features related to the nonparametric simultaneous tests.

In this study, we propose a simultaneous test procedure based on the individual - values for each sub-null hypothesis with several well-known combining functions. We then compare the efficiency of our procedure with existing tests by obtaining empirical powers through a simulation study. Finally, we discuss some interesting features related to simultaneous test and point out a misconduct for the simulation study published in the previous work.

In this paper, we consider simultaneous confidence intervals for the difference of proportions between two groups taken from multivariate binomial distributions in a nonparametric way. We briefly discuss the construction of simultaneous confidence intervals using the method of adjusting the p-values in multiple tests. The features of bootstrap simultaneous confidence intervals using non-pooled samples are presented. We also compute confidence intervals from the adjusted p-values of multiple tests in the Westfall (1985) style based on a pooled sample. The average coverage probabilities of the bootstrap simultaneous confidence intervals are compared with those of the Bonferroni simultaneous confidence intervals and the Sidak simultaneous confidence intervals. Finally, we give an example that shows how the proposed bootstrap simultaneous confidence intervals can be utilized through data analysis.

This study has been carried out to develop a standard method for quantifying of 3 permitted artificial sweeteners (including sodium saccharine, aspartame, acesulfame potassium) contained in foods by HPLC-DAD. A simple and rapid sample pretreatment method was used to remove fat and protein from the test solution with Carrez clearing regent precipitant know to be effective for protein and fat removal. The artificial sweeteners in the test solution purified through sample pretreatment were detected by high performance liquid chromatograph using a Reverse phase C18 column (5 ㎛, 4.6 × 250 mm). The simultaneous quantitative test of 3 kinds of artificial sweeteners can be effectively performed on the high fat emulsified foods containing a large amount of fat. Using the established simultaneous quantitative test method, artificial sweeteners were tested in foods such as dairy products, snacks and chocolate. The results calibration curve showed good linearity with high regression coefficients and the result of recovery test showed satisfactory recoveries within 80~110 %.

This paper presents a frequency-response test performed on an antagonistic actuation system consisting of two Mckibben pneumatic artificial muscles and a pneumatic circuit. A linear model, capable of estimating the dynamic characteristics of the antagonistic system in the operating range of pneumatic artificial muscles, was optimally calculated based on frequency-response results and applied to a multiple simultaneous specification control scheme. Trajectory tracking results showed that the presented multiple simultaneous specification controller, built experimentally by three PD typed sample controllers, satisfied successfully all required control specifications; rising time, maximum overshoot, steady-state error.

In this study, in order to develop outdoor insulating materials, SIN(simultaneous interpenetrating polymer network) was introduced to Epoxy resin and the environment resistance was investigated. The single network structure specimen(E series) formed of Epoxy resin alone and simultaneous interpenetrating polymer network specimen (EM series) in which epoxy resin was taken as the first network and methyl methacrylate resin as the second network were manufactured. Ten kinds of specimens were manufacture by filler (SiO$_2$) content. SEM were utilized in order to confirm their network structure changes, and AC voltage dielectric strength was measured. Also, UV-test and tracking test were carried out investigate the environment resistance characteristic. Therefore the variations of network structure were happened as a result of SEM test, and it was confirmed that simultaneous interpenetrating polymer network specimens were more excellent than single network structure specimens.

Objective : This study was carried out to investigate the progress of bilateral simultaneous facial palsy and the effect of Hominis Placenta herbal-acupunture and the other oriental medical therapies. Method : We used two methods to research the progress of disease. 1. Diagnosis - Facial muscle test, Taste test, Hearing test, Photographies, Lab-finding 2. Treatment - Acupuncture, Herbal-acupuncture, Electroacupuncture, Herb-med Edema rate, Pain endurance, WBC, Hemoglobin, Platelet, Total protein, Albumin, Globulin, RA factor, CRP Results : The onset of Rt. facial palsy was earlier than Lt. facial palsy 3days. The reaction on the treatment of Rt. facial palsy was more dull than Lt. facial palsy. In terms of treatment period, Rt. facial palsy was very longer than Lt. facial palsy. Conclusion : According to the above results, we discoveried that Hominis Placenta herbal-acupunture and the other oriental medical therapies had good influence on the bilateral simultaneous facial palsy. In the future, we should endeavor to know influence between Rt. and Lt. face in case of bilateral simultaneous Bell's palsy.

Symmetric estimation and recursive mean adjustment are considered to construct tests for the doble unit root hypothesis for both parametric and semiparametric time series models. It is shown that simultaneous application of symmetric estimation and recursive mean adjustment yields the most powerful test. Moreover, size property of the semiparametric test based on the simultaneous application is bet among all semiparametric tests.
