  • The study of fractal hedgehogs is a recent development in the ambit of fractal theory and nonlinear analysis. The intent of this paper is to present a study of fractal hedgehogs along with some of their special constructions. The main result is a new fractal hedgehog theorem. As a consequence, a fractal projective hedgehog theorem of Martinez-Maure is obtained as a special case, and several fractal hedgehogs and similar images are discussed.

  • It is well known that a suspension bridge may display certain oscillations under external aerodynamic forces. Under the action of a strong wind, in particular, a narrow and very flexible suspension bridge can undergo dangerous oscillations. So it would be very contributive to determine under what conditions a similar situation cannot occur, and find out safe parameters of the bridge construction. In this paper, we investigate relations between the multiplicity of solutions and nonlinear terms in this suspension bridge equation using critical point theorem and linking theorem.

  • We introduce a new concept of $\theta$ conditionally independent and positive and negative dependence of bivariate stochastic processes and their corresponding hitting times. We have further extended this theory to stronger conditions of dependence similar to those in the literature of positive and negative dependence and developed theorems which relate these conditions. Finally we are given some examples to illustrate these concepts.

  • This paper aims to build a drone platform based on an optimum design of its single arm. We assumed its single arm as a cantilevered beam with a tip mass. Based on the numerical optimization theory, we conducted validation and optimization of a new design by comparing the results with the similar ones obtained by ANSYS. Finally, this design is reflected in the control simulation, and the requirement of an optimum structural design considering the resonance situation is demonstrated.

  • Information culture is a concept with multiple and sometimes conflicting definitions. Nevertheless at a time when social and cognitive aspects of information and communication systems are recognized as being of similar significance as the technological functionality, the concept of information culture is demonstrating considerable value. This paper explains the concept of information culture and considers its value from two main perspectives: firstly as providing an analytical tool, and secondly as a means of providing practitioners with insight and sensitivity to the organisational contexts of their workplaces.

  • We present a quantum theorical background of the existence of multi-variable link invariants, for example the Kauffman polynomial, by observing the quantum (sl(2,$\mathbb{C}$), ad)-invariant from the Kontsevich invariant point of view. The background implies that the Kauffman polynomial can be studied by using the sl(N,$\mathbb{C}$)-skein theory similar to the Jones polynomial and the HOMFLY polynomial.

  • Canada has a rich history in the theory and development of the field of health promotion. Over 25 years ago, in 1974, the Canadian government produced the first government policy document that identified health promotion as a national strategy. The document, which came from the national Health Minister, was entitled A New Perspective on the Health of Canadians (Lalonde, 1974). It led the way for other governments to produce similar documents, and to many western countries embracing the ideas and ideals of health promotion.(omitted)

  • Recently, Liu (2005) proposed a special type of weighting function under a given preference index level with the minimal variability similar to the minimal variability OWA operator weights problem proposed by Fuller and Majlender (2003). He solved this problem using a result of classical optimal control theory. In this note, we give a direct elementary proof of this problem without using any known results.

  • The aim of this paper is to present some necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of solution of Sylvester operator equation involving bounded subnormal operators in a Hilbert space. Our results improve and generalize some results in the literature involving normal operators.

  • For any category with a distinguished collection of sequences, such as n-exangulated category, category of N-complexes and category of precomplexes, we consider its Grothendieck group and similar results of Bergh-Thaule for n-angulated categories [1] are proven. A classification result of dense complete subcategories is given and we give a formal definition of K-groups for these categories following Grayson's algebraic approach of K-theory for exact categories [4].
