델타시그마 변환기 구조와 Limit Cycle 발생 (Delta-Sigma Modulator Structure and limit Cycle Generation)

  • 델타시그마 변환기에서 limit cycle 에 의한 패턴 노이즈 문제는 오래 동안 설계자들을 괴롭혀 온 문제이다. 델타시그마 변환기의 동작과 출력은 입력과 초기치에 의해 결정된다. 본 논문은 델타시그마 변환기의 구조에 따른 패턴잡음의 발생정도를 널리 쓰이는 네 가지 모델로 비교 하였다. 델타시그마 변환기 중 적분기형 과 공진기형의 차이와 부궤환 방식에 따른 차이를 비교 하였으며 그 결과는 적분기 형식의 증폭단을 사용하는 델타시그마 변환기가 패턴잡음을 적게 발생시키는 것으로 판명되었다.

Fano Decoding with Timeout: Queuing Analysis

  • In mobile communications, a class of variable-complexity algorithms for convolutional decoding known as sequential decoding algorithms is of interest since they have a computational time that could vary with changing channel conditions. The Fano algorithm is one well-known version of a sequential decoding algorithm. Since the decoding time of a Fano decoder follows the Pareto distribution, which is a heavy-tailed distribution parameterized by the channel signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), buffers are required to absorb the variable decoding delays of Fano decoders. Furthermore, since the decoding time drawn by a certain Pareto distribution can become unbounded, a maximum limit is often employed by a practical decoder to limit the worst-case decoding time. In this paper, we investigate the relations between buffer occupancy, decoding time, and channel conditions in a system where the Fano decoder is not allowed to run with unbounded decoding time. A timeout limit is thus imposed so that the decoding will be terminated if the decoding time reaches the limit. We use discrete-time semi-Markov models to describe such a Fano decoding system with timeout limits. Our queuing analysis provides expressions characterizing the average buffer occupancy as a function of channel conditions and timeout limits. Both numerical and simulation results are provided to validate the analytical results.

  • In this study, an ultrasonic level limit sensor with a new structure utilizing the acoustic impedance matching is proposed to be able to check it out a change of water-level. 2 PZT resonators with the same property are bonded directly on the polyethylene plate. One resonator is for transmitter as an ultrasonic transducer, the other one is for receiver. In this case, a polyethylene plate will operate as an acoustic guider to transmit a transverse wave between 2 PZT resonators in air. While in the water, a polyethylene plate having a similar acoustic impedance with the water will be emitted an acoustic energy into the water as a longitudinal wave. According to this mechanism, there was a wide difference of acoustic signal output between underwater and in air. As a summary, this proposed level limit sensor could be used as a strong candidate with low cost and more stable one.

핵연료집합체 기계적특성 시험시설 구축과 기능시험 (Construction and Functional Tests of Fuel Assembly Mechanical Characterization Test Facility)

  • Fuel assembly's mechanical characterization test facility (FAMeCT) in KAERI was constructed with upgraded functional features such as increased loading capacity, underwater vibration testing and severe earthquake simulation for extended fuel design guideline. This facility is designed and developed to provide out-pile fuel data for accident analysis model and fuel licensing. Functional tests of FAMeCT were performed to confirm functionality, structural integrity, and validity of newly-built fuel assembly mechanical test facility. Test program includes signal check of data acquisition system, load delivering capacity using real-sized fuel assemblies and a standard loading cylindrical rigid specimen. Fuel assembly's lateral bending test was carried out up to 30 mm of pull-out displacement. Limit case axial compression loading test up to 33 kN was performed to check structural integrity of UCPS (Upper Core Plate Simulator) support frame. Test results show that all test equipment and measurement system have acceptable range of alignment, signal to noise ratio, load carrying capacity limit without loss of integrity. This paper introduces newly constructed fuel assembly's mechanical test facility and summarizes results of functional test for the mechanical test equipment and data acquisition system.

Low flow-low power 유도결합 플라즈마 원자방출 분광법에서의 분석적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analytical Characterizations of the Low Flow-Low Power ICP-AES)

  • Low power-low flow 유도결합 플라즈마 원자방출 분광법(ICP-AES)에서 분석적 특성에 대해 연구하였다. Low power ICP에서는 moderate power ICP보다 알짜세기는 감소하지만 바탕세기도 감소하여 알짜세기에 대한 바탕세기의 비는 오히려 증가하였다. Low power ICP에서도 작동조건에 따라 moderate power와 비슷한 검출한계를 얻을 수 있으며, 검량곡선도 $10^4{\sim}10^5$ 정도의 직선성을 가질 수 있었다. 알칼리 금속에 의한 이온화 방해영향은 시료운반기체의 사용량을 증가시킬수록 증가하지만, RF power의 변화에 대해서는 큰 차이가 없었다.

  • Recently developed radars use the solid-state power amplifier to amplify the RF signal. The stability of RF signal directly depends on that of the electric power. So the stable and reliable electric power should be needed. When the electric power switch is tuned on for the first time in order to operate the radar system, the in-rush current is generated because of the capacitive characteristic. The excess in-rush current breaks the element. Therefore, the analysis about the in-rush current to design the electric power system is necessary. In this paper, modeling and simulation on the whole power system is carried out and the necessity of limiting the in-rush current is verified. After the analysis, the circuit to limit the in-rush current is designed and examined to verify the analysis. The circuit is good enough to limit the in-rush current.

  • At present electrical and electronic technologies is rapidly improved, and they have formed their market widely. New technologies such as traffic signal system, navigation system and unmanned vehicle are connected with transportation field. Among these advanced technologies, the Image Processing Technology has been used for the astro-navigation, medicine, military field and so forth. Recently The Image Processing Technologies are widely applied to traffic enforcement system for signal, speed limit and HOV lane. In this study we developed the advanced enforcement system for over limit(overweight)vehicles using Image Processing System.

위성통신안테나 추적제어를 위한 DSP 기반의 협대역신호 전력 검출기 (DSP based Narrow-Band Signal Power Detector for Tracking Control of Satellite Antenna)

  • 본 논문은 협대역의 위성통신 수신신호 전력을 측정하여 이동형 위성통신 안테나를 추적제어하기 위한 DSP 기반의 협대역 위성통신 신호전력 검출기를 제안한다. 기존의 아날로그 검출방식에 의한 협대역 위성통신 신호전력 검출기는 위성 전파경로 상에서 발생되는 반송파의 중심주파수 천이로 인해 고정된 아날로그 필터대역을 통과하여 검출되는 신호 전력의 오차가 심하고 전송 신호의 대역폭 가변에 따른 아날로그 필터의 대역폭을 변경하기가 용이하지 않다. 따라서 이러한 반송파 주파수 천이에 영향 받지 않고 가변 하는 신호 대역폭에 대응하는 필터를 실시간으로 프로그래머블하게 지원하기 위하여 DSP 기반의 협대역 디지털 위성통신 신호전력 검출기를 제안하였다. 제안된 협대역 위성통신 신호전력 검출 알고리즘은 FFT를 이용하여 주파수 천이된 협대역 위성통신 신호의 주파수를 탐색하고 프로그래머블한 디지털 필터를 선택하여 필터링한 다음, 일정구간 주기로 신호전력을 계산하여 12비트 해상도로 출력하는 기능을 가진다. TMS320C5402 DSP 칩을 기반으로 설계 제작된 신호전력 검출기의 실제 시험을 통하여 제시된 요구기능과 규격을 만족하면서 동작함을 검증하였고 실용성을 확인하였다.

  • Embedded systems widely used for wireless communication such as W-LAN, Bluetooth and ZigBee operate on ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band but they can be seriously affected by electromagnetic interference radiated from ISM apparatus. Therefore C.I.S.P.R. reports proposed limits for the protection of telecommunication from interference from ISM equipment. In this paper, we clarify the methods for calculating limits for disturbance signal for Embedded Systems in ISM band and propose simple way of calculating limits for interference signal in both above and below 1 GHz band cases.

  • This paper describes the required frequency bandwidth which is used as a measure for the quality of the PFM transmission system to transmit the control signals. First, the PFM signal which has been distorted due to the frequency bandwidth limit on the transmission line is analyzed by Fourier transform and secondly distortion which has been observed at the receiver is numerically analyzed to make the frequency bandwidth required for transmitting the PFM signals. According to the analysis heretofore, the 50% threshold level for shaping the received PFM signal, which is of 50 % in TTL level, is superior than the 10- and 90-% threshold levels.
