  • The effects of polymer-cement ratio, antifoamer content and shrinkage-reducing agent content on the air content, setting time and drying shrinkage of polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder are examined. As a result the air content of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and antifoamer agent content. Regardless of the antifoamer content, the setting time of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to delayed with increasing polymer-cement ratio. Irrespective of the antifoamer content, the drying shrinkage of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content.

  • The shrinkage rate of solid state sintering has been theoretically derived by combining the rate equation of material transport and the net free energy change resulting from the decrease of solid-vapor interface and the increase of grain boundary during sintering. For a sinteing model an idealized situation of the spherical particles with BCC packing was taken as the initial condition and the shrinkage was assumed to occur by forming the flat circualr grain boundaries on each particle. The plotted shrinkage rates as a function of grain boundary to surface energy ratio $(gamma_g/gamma_s)$ have shown that the relative density increases linearly at the initial stage of sintering but the shrinkage rate is decreased upon further sintering due to a decrease in driving force for densificaton. It has been also shown that the densification is critically affected by the $gamma_g/gamma_s$ ratio. In order to get the complete densificatin the ratio should be less than $sqrt{3}$. Any additive or atmospheric condition causing the decrease of$_g/gamma_s$ ratio will enhance sintering.

  • As the treatments of many kinds of explosive objects increase recently, it is in the trend that explosion accidents increase. Thus, many studies on HPFRCC (High-performance Fiber-reinforced Cement Composites) whose ductility is enhanced are being conducted actively in order to minimize the damages from explosion accidents. However, HPFRCC, the self-shrinkage of HPFRCC is on the rise as a problem since it becomes ultra-high strengthened by using low W/B. Thus, in this study, it is intended to evaluate the capacity for reducing the self-shrinkage of HPFRCC depending on some changes of ERCO(Emulsified Refined Cooking Oil) replacement ratio and the fiber replacement ratio between some short steel fibers (SS) and some long organic fibers (OL). As a result, it was found that some excellent effects are exerted since the self-shrinkage was reduced a lot as the ERCO replacement ratio increases and the fiber replacement ratio of SS rather than OL increases.

  • This study has analyzed mechanical and dry shrinkage properties according to the recycled coarse aggregate by nominal strength actually being widely used at the Remicon companies for the purpose of qualitative improvement of concrete, practical use and examination at various strengths. As a result, although the modulus of elasticity showed a tendency of getting decreased as the replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate has increased, the difference was insignificant while the compressive strength showed a tendency of about 3MPa increase in the recycled coarse aggregate replacement ratio of 30% compared to the ratio of 0%. In case of the dry shrinkage length variation ratio, the recycled coarse aggregate replacement ratio of 30% showed a tendency of about 20% shrinkage reduction compared to the ratio of 0%.

  • Carbonation and drying shrinkage are very important properties of concrete, that can cause concrete to lower its capacity and spall. But the research on them in high strength concrete is very poor. In this study, to estimate influences of W/B, the kind of admixture, the replacement ratio of admixture, fineness of blast furnace and etc. on drying shrinkage and carbonation, we make experiment with 3 levels(28, 35, 55%) of W/B, 3 kinds(blast-furnace slag, fly-ash, silica-fume) of admixture, 3 levels of the replacement ratio, 3 levels(4000, 6000, 8000cm2/g) of fineness of blast-furnace slag and 2 kinds of curing condition. As the results, compressive strength of concrete was decreased, as W/C was increased and the replacement ratio of admixture was increased. Drying shrinkage was increased, as W/B was higher, the replacement ratio of admixture was increased and fineness of blast-furnace slag was decreased. And carbonation was increased, as W/B ratio was higher, the replacement ratio of admixture was increased.

  • The shrinkage mechanism of high strength concrete is different from that of normal concrete. The shrinkage of normal concrete is subjected to evaporate moisture in concrete, but most shrinkage in high strength concrete is caused by chemical reaction. To analyze shrinkage of concrete exactly, it is necessary to divide drying shrinkage with autogenous shrinkage in terms of degree of hydration, especially in concrete with low W/C ratio. The proposed method can provide a rational basis for prediction of shrinkage in high strength concrete structure.

  • It is true that the plastic shrinkage is inevitable. Shrinkage rate in effect at the time of mold design will soon determine the size of the global product. Process for the shrinkage of the plastic that provides how made, yet it has identified a process for making the question whether the shrinkage that can be trusted, and by the experimental results were as follows: as shrinkage, see ISO but, according to circumstances the process can go to the agreement between the parties. shrinkage ratio of the pressure sensor installed in the specimen mold is essential, amount of pressure sensor is that it is appropriate approximately 2-3. proper holding pressure is a significant effect on shrinkage Mitch, so that the effect of selecting the contraction ratio data according to the appropriate holding pressure during mold making. shrinkage CAE analysis results are difficult to utilize in the mold-making chamber. Based on these results, it concluded by looking forward to the improved products produced shrinkage.

  • Many different polymer based concrete materials are known today, but the large setting or hardening shrinkage of polymer concrete is a problem to overcome in their practical applications. The setting shrinkage reaches about five to ren times he drying shrinkage ordinary cement concrete, i.e, 50 to $60\times10^{-4}$. This paper deals with a reduction in the hardening shrinkage of unsaturated polyester resin concrete which is treated with respect to shrinkage-reducing agent content, S/a ratio and catalyst content, and tested for length change during hardening, and flexural and compressive strength. It is show that the change of shrinkage-reducing agent content and S/a ratio affected the length change of the unsaturated polyester resin concrete during hardening.

  • In this study, W/B that affect the strength and shrinkage were 4 level(14.5~11.5%), so that the and the physical and shrinkage properties were verified. And the shrinkage formula is suggested at the age of 91. The results showed that the strength of W/B 12.5% was the highest strength. And as W/B decreased, the shrinkage ratio increased. The autogenous shrinkage was rapidly decreased after 28 days.

  • The experimental set-up and one-dimensional analytical model have been developed to investigate the tensile behavior of reinforced concrete member due to restrained drying shrinkage. The experimental results have been compared with the analytical prediction of the maximum residual stress of steel and concrete due to restrained shrinkage. The tensile residual stress concrete by one-dimensional bilinear model shows 0.19 and 0.63 of tensile strength for 0.83% and 3.29 of steel ratio. The residual tensile stress of concrete increases as the steel ratio increases. The effect of steel fiber has not influenced the residual stress due to restrained shrinkage of concrete.
