단부 횡보강이 없는 세장한 전단벽의 내진성능 (Earthquake-Resistance of Slender Shear Wall with No Boundary Confinement)

  • Experimental and numerical studies were done to investigate seismic performance of slender shear walls with no boundary confinement that are principal structural members of high0rise bearing wall buildings. 1/3 scale specimens that model the plastic region of long slender shear walls subjected to combined axial load and bending moment were tested to investigate strength, ductility, capacity of energy dissipation, and strain distribution, The experimental results show that the slender shear walls fail due to early crushing in the compressive boundary, and then have very low ductility. The measured maximum compressive strain is 0.0021, much less than 0.004 being commonly used for estimation of ductility. This result indicates that the maximum compressive strain is not a fixed value but is affected by moment gradient along the shear wall height and distance from the neutral axis to the extreme compressive fiber.

지반개량을 통한 원지반의 전단파속도 향상에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Shear Wave Velocity Improvement of Ground by Ground Improvement)

  • 이 연구에서는 지반의 개량에 따른 전단파속도 및 지반등급 향상 여부를 알아보기 위하여 지반개량체의 형상을 변수로 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 실험은 지반개량체의 형상을 변수로 크로스홀(Cross hole) 기법을 이용하여 전단파속도를 측정하였다. 또한, 이 연구에서 측정된 결과와 기존 전단파속도 측정결과를 이용하여 국내 지반조건에 맞는 N-Value에 대한 전단파속도 예측식을 제안하였다. 실험결과, 지반개량을 수행하는 경우 원지반의 전단파속도는 소폭 상승하였다. 또한, 이 연구에서 제안한 예측식은 지층조건에 관계없이 기존실험결과를 합리적으로 예측하였다.

지르코니아의 표면 처리에 따른 전장용 세라믹과의 전단결합강도 (Influence of surface treatments on the shear bond strength between zirconia ceramic and zirconia veneering ceramics)

  • Purpose: The aim of this research was to evaluate the shear bond strength of different zirconia veneering ceramics with and without liner glass materials to yttria partially-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystalline(Y-TZP). Methods: Five co mmercial zirconia veneering ceramics were used in this study, E-Max(EM), Creation ZI(CR), Cercon ceram kiss(CE), Triceram(TR) and Zirkonzahn ICE(ZI). All samples were prepared according to manufacturer's instructions. Experimental industrially manufactured Y-TZP ceramic blocks(diameter: 2.7 mm; height: 13.5 mm) were used in this study. Shear bond strength between zirconia ceramic coping and zirconia veneering ceramics were evaluated by the push-shear bond test. The fracture load data were analyzed using ANOVA and Scheffe's test(${\alpha}$=0.05). The fractured surfaces of zirconia core ceraimc and zirconia veneering ceramics were observed using a scanning electron microscope(SEM). Results: The mean shear bond strengths ranged from 20 MPa ($20.12{\pm}6.34$ MPa) to 66.6 MPa ($66.62{\pm}10.01$ MPa). The Triceram(TRG) showed the highest value and Creation ZI(CR) showed the lowest value. In all groups, Zirconia liner and glass material groups was significantly higher shear bond strength than without liner(P<0.05), with the exception of Cercon ceram kiss(CE)groups. Conclusion: Zirconia bonding materials may have the advantage of improved bond strength between zirconia ceramic core and veneering ceramics.

Influence of the Adhesive, the Adherend and the Overlap on the Single Lap Shear Strength

  • The single lap joint is the most studied joint in the literature in terms of both theory and practice. It is easy to manufacture and the lap shear strength is a useful value for strength assessment and quality control. Simple design rules exist such as the one present in standard ASTM 1002 or in a recent paper by Adams and Davies. The main factors that have an influence on the lap shear strength are the type of adhesive, i.e. ductile or brittle, the adherend yield strength and the overlap length. The overlap increases the shear strength almost linearly if the adhesive is sufficiently ductile and the adherend does not yield. For substrates that yield, a plateau is reached for a certain value of overlap corresponding to the yielding of the adherend. For intermediate or brittle adhesives, the analysis is more complex and needs further investigation. In order to quantify the influence of the adhesive, the adherend and the overlap on the lap shear strength, the experimental design technique of Taguchi was used. An experimental matrix of 27 tests was designed and each test was repeated three times. The influence of each variable could be assessed as well as the interactions between them using the statistical software Statview. The results show that the most important variable on the lap shear strength is the overlap length followed by the type of adherend.

Silane coupling agent인 MPS 농도별처리에 따른 열중합 레진과 자가중합 레진 간의 전단결합강도 (Effects of Treatment of Silane Coupling Agent in MPS Concentration on the Shear Bond Strength between Self Curing Resins and Heat Curing Resin)

  • 본 논문은 치과에서 많이 사용되고 있는 silane coupling agent로 표면 처리한 의치상 레진과 자가중합 레진 간의 전단 결합력에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 의치상 레진에 silane coupling agent 농도별 표면 처리 후 자가중합레진을 주입하여 전단결합강도를 측정하였다. Silane coupling agent(MPS)의 농도별 표면 처리에 따른 의치상 레진과 자가중합레진 간의 전단결합강도에서는 Vertex self curing resin에서 5%, 7%에서 유의적으로 높게 나타났고(P<0.05), Kooliner에서는 5%에서 유의적으로 가장 높게 나타났다(P<0.05). 따라서 의치상 레진과 자가중합레진 사이에 MPS 5%를 이용한 표면처리가 전단결합강도에 효과적으로 영향을 미치는 것이라 사료된다.

반복세탁 및 전단·인정변형에 따른 텐셀직물의 피로도 (Fatigue Phenomenon of Mechanical Properties in Tencel Fabrics by Repeated Washing & Shear and Tensile Deformation)

  • This study was conducted to examine the fatigue phenomenon of mechanical properties in tencel fabrics by repeated washing & shear and tensile deformation. The obtained results are as follows. After performing repeated shear tensile deformation, RT of tencel showed higher increase rate than that of cotton and rayon, whereas its WT and EM was a smaller decrease rate than that of them. This means that tencel's resistance to tensile deformation was the greatest. In the repeated washing and shear tensile deformation, tencel's 2HB, 2HG and 2HG5 showed a remarkable increase rate. In terms of deformation frequency, the greatest change rate appeared at the time of 1000 cycles of repeated shear tensile deformation and 15 times of repeated washing. In the hand value and THV, KOSHI showed a higher increase rate for tencel than for cotton and rayon in both repeated washing and shear tensile deformation, and NUMERI showed a higher increase rate. In the THV the change rate of rayon and cotton could be rarely seen but for tencel, it decreased. tencel's change rate of thermal insulation value by materials was 1.08%, and it increased as the washing frequency increased, compared to the grey fabrics, whereas the change rates of cotton and rayon were 0.74% and 0.22%, respectively. The qmax decreased in the order of cotton>tencel>rayon as the washing frequency increased.

  • In this study, the shear box tests are carried out with cement paste in order to quantify the rheological constants. The materials have four level of water-cement ratios in $0.30\~0.45$, with or without high-range water-reducing AE agent. As the results, it was clarified that the rheological constants of cement paste are dependent on the value of shear strain, and the incremental coefficient of yield value is varied with the water-cement ratio and the dosage of high-range water-reducing AE agent.

  • In order to investigate a recycling possibility as a construction material of oyster-shells, the geotechnical characteristics including N-value, confined compression and shear strength for oyster shell mixed soils were quantitatively examined. Experimental results show that the oyster shell mixed soils are lighter than sand in weight, and have similar characteristics of shear strength with sandy soils. Based on the experimental results, it is highly judged that crushed oyster-shell can be a substitute of sand as the SCP method.

  • There are a wide variety of semi-solid ointments used for healing the skin diseases, whose therapeutic and skin penetration abililties may greatly differ from one another depending on the compositions of ointment vehicles. A computer optimization technique was applied to obtain the optimum formula of o/w type ointment giving the in vitro maximum absorption rate through hairless rat skin membrane. Some of the formulations were selected to find out a relationship between skin penetration of ointment and its Theological characteristics. The experimental value of absorption rate obtained from the ointment by optimum formula agreed well with the theoretical value obtained from a polynomial regression analysis, Three kinds of ointments selected among 15 formulations were obtained with a concentric cylinder type rheometer (Model; Rheolab SM-HM Physica, Germany) at 20, 30, 40 and $50^{\circ}C$ for rheograms of rhelolgical properties of o/w type ointments. As the temperature was raised, all products showed a decrease in both shear stress and yield values. The higher skin penetration, the lower shear stress showed.

  • Equivalent linear method indirectly reflects a variation of shear modulus(G/Gmax) and damping ratio $(\xi)$ by selects mean value of every response analysis. Existing equivalent linear method does not properly consider variation of shear strain along frequencies and uses mean value. Real dynamic soil behavior is affected by shear stiffness and damping ratio. Modified equivalent linear method is developed to consider variation. Modified equivalent linear method can reflects high strain at low frequency and low strain at high frequency by using an easement curve. This study presents propriety of method by case study.
