  • This study is about consumer preference of plastic toilets that can provide automatic supply of recycled water. First, the preference for plastic toilet seat design by gender and age group was preferred for gender type C and G for the sex. As the result of the chi-square test, the significance probability is .044 and the significance is P <.0 5. I could confirm that. Age, teens, 40 s, and 50 s or older prefer type C, 20 s and 30 s, but B type is not statistically significant. Second, the differences among the groups of preference for appearance design criteria according to general characteristics were all stable (stable appearance) in gender, age, region, education, and salary, but the chi-square test showed that they were not statistically significant. There was no difference between them. This study has implications for improving competitiveness and productivity by reducing the main production cost by commercializing toilets made of plastic materials.

  • This research presents that exogenous characteristics of consumers affect eco-friendly vehicle preference. The car consumers are classifies into two groups by their characteristics - sex, age, and fuel expense. To find differences in the preference for eco-friendly vehicle, marginal utilities and compensate variations of vehicle attributes are estimated. The results suggest that there are significant differences in marginal utilities and compensate variations. However, the compensate variation is more reliable standard to test the preference differences because utility is a subjective measure. Men and old people have stronger preference for the fuel efficiency than women and young people. High fuel expense people have more preference for short time charging vehicles than low fuel expense people. In addition, gasoline vehicles are more attractive to young people than old people.

In order to achieve this study objective, by using the quota sampling out of nonprobability sampling for tennis club members who are now(2015) actively involved in tennis courts located in Daejeon Metropolitan City and Chungcheongnam-do, and also receiving tennis lesson for more than six months or used to take lessons before, the 325 effective samples were used for data analysis. Using the SPSS Ver. 21.0 Window Program, the collected data went through frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis, and the results are like below. Regarding differences of coaching behaviors depending on sex, first, there were significant differences in the factors like explanatory instruction, positive feedback and negative feedback. In case of differences in accordance with age, every factor showed significant differences. In regard of differences depending on academic background, there were differences in the factor of negative feedback while the factor of positive feedback showed differences in accordance with the experience of lesson. In case of differences depending on the level of athletic performance, there were statistically significant differences in the factors like explanatory instruction, questioning instruction and negative feedback. Second, the positive feedback, one of the sub-factors of coaching behaviors had positive influence on satisfaction with lesson while the explanatory instruction, one of the sub-factors of coaching behaviors had positive influence on preference for instructors. Lastly, the satisfaction with lesson had positive influence on preference for instructors.

  • Korea has been widely recognized as the most successful country for reversal of the rise in sex ratio at birth (from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s) in a short period of time. However, unusually high sex ratios at birth are still observed in most regions as parity increases. Given that imbalanced sex ratios at high birth orders are mostly due to son-selective abortion, it still remains questionable whether son-selective reproductive behavior has vanished in Korea. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the pattern of changing trends and socioeconomic differentials in sex ratio at birth. Micro-data from birth registration for 2009 are utilized. Attention is focused on analyzing sex ratios at birth in Youngnam region according to age of mother, parity, educational attainment of parents, and occupation of parents. A series of simulations are also conducted in this paper to show how prenatal sex screening and son-selective abortion have affected the level of sex ratio at birth for years 1994, 2005 and 2009.

  • The purpose of this study was firstly, to explore the design preference, consumer experience and purchasing factors of parents for smart animal toys and secondly, investigate whether there is a difference by children's sex and age. For this purpose, the questionnaire survey was conducted with 344 parents of younger children in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. As a result, the white or brown colored 20~30cm, dog-type smart toy was preferred and the sound was considered as the most important function. Besides role of toy, smart toy was expected to play as a pet, a friend and a younger sibling. Actually, dog-type smart toy were most frequently purchased. And main satisfied causes were fun, interactivity and design and dissatisfied causes were noise, price, battery life and durability of purchased smart toys. Finally, the important factors in purchasing smart toy were the safety, durability, battery life, sustainable play, education and washability. The parents' preference, customer experience and purchasing factors showed little significant differences according to the sex and the age of the children. This research will be useful in understanding parents purchasing activity of smart animal toys and provide valuable data for function construction, design and service planning necessary to develop the smart animal toy.

  • This study was designed to investigate the role of weight control in the formation of underlying pathology in eating disorder or eating related problems. The subjects were 304 college athletes(Male : 187. Female: 121) and they were divided into two groups according to need for weight control(Weght control group: 110, Weght non control group: 194). The authors used self report questionnaire which was composed of epidemiologic data, food habit scale, eating attitude test, scale for locus of control for weight, scale for food preference and eating behavior. And we also used Eysenck Personality Questionnaire of Korean standardized edition for assessment of personality characteristics, Beck depression inventory, and the scale of hypochondriasis. The results were as follows: 1) Body mass index and the amount of cigarrette smoking and alcohol drinking showed significant differences by sex but not by need for weight control. 2) Eating habit of female athletes was the worst in all athletes. The score of eating attitude test of female athletes was higher than that of male athletes but there was no significant difference by need for weight control. Food preference and eating related behavior was also different by sex. 3) There were no significant differences in all subscales of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, Beck depression inventory, and the scale of hypochondriasis between two groups which were divided by need for weight control. Neuroticism score was higher in female atheletes and psychoticism score was the highest in weight control male atheletes. 4) There was no significant difference in number of population with abnormal EAT score(to-tal score$\geq$26) between two groups which were divided by need for weight control. 5) The score of eating attitude test had positive correlation with the score of psychoticism and the tendency of depression in weight control male athletes but not in non-weight control male athletes. In non-weight control male athletes, the score of eating attitude test had positive correlation with the score of lie scale. so its correlation is different from those of weight control male athletes. But in female athletes, the score of eating attitude test had significant positive correlation with the score of psychoticism in both groups. In conclusion, these results suggest that the differences of eating traits in athletes are depend upon the sex difference, not upon the need for weight control. and that the role of weight control in eating disorder or abnormal eating attitude differs according to sex.
