This paper presents a password based authentication and key exchange protocol which can be used for both authenticating users and exchanging session keys for a subsequent secure communication over an untrusted network. Our idea is to increase a randomness of the password verification data, i.e., we split the password, and then amplify the split passwords in the high entropy-structured password verification data. And in order to prevent the verifier-compromised attack, we construct our system such that the password verification data is encrypted with the verifier's key and the private key of verifier used to encrypt it is stored in a secure place like a smart cards. Also we propose the distributed password authentication scheme utilizing many authentication servers in order to prevent the server-compromised attack occurred when only one server is used. Furthermore, the security analysis on the proposed protocol has been presented as a conclusion.

User authentication scheme is a method for controlling unauthorized users' access to securely share the services and resources provided by the server and for verifying users with access rights. Initial user authentication scheme was based on passwords. Nowadays, various authentication schemes such as ID based, smart-card based, and attribute based are being researched. The study of Lee et al. suggested a user authentication scheme that provides forward secrecy and protects anonymity of users. However, it is vulnerable to attacks by outsiders and attackers who have acquired smart-cards. In this paper, we propose a modified smart-card authentication scheme to complement the weakness of the previous studies. The proposed user authentication scheme provides the security for the ID guessing attack and the password guessing attacks of the attacker who obtained the login request message and the user's smart-card.

We address the data confidentiality for wireless broadband (WiBro) networks. In WiBro, as the channel is wireless in nature, it suffers from passive and active attack. Passive attack, for example is to decrypt traffic based on statistical analysis and active attack is to modify traffic or inject new traffic from unauthorized mobile stations. Due to high mobility, frequent session key distribution is a bottleneck for the mobile stations. In aspect of WiBro, there is a communication between mobile station to base station, and also in mobile station to mobile station. It is expected to ensure data confidentiality while maintaining minimum overhead for the resource constrained mobile stations. In this paper, we proposed a security framework based on the concept of hyper-encryption to provide data confidentiality for wireless broadband networks.
In the Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) protocol, a mobile node (MN) is a mobile device with a permanent home address (HoA) on its home link. The MN will acquire a care-of address (CoA) when it roams into a foreign link. It then sends a binding update (BU) message to the home agent (HA) and the correspondent node (CN) to inform them of its current CoA so that future data packets destined for its HoA will be forwarded to the CoA. The BU message, however, is vulnerable to different types of security attacks, such as the man-in-the-middle attack, the session hijacking attack, and the denial-of-service attack. The current security protocols in MIPv6 are not able to effectively protect the BU message against these attacks. The private-key-based BU (PKBU) protocol is proposed in this research to overcome the shortcomings of some existing MIPv6 protocols. PKBU incorporates a method to assert the address ownership of the MN, thus allowing the CN to validate that the MN is not a malicious node. The results obtained show that it addresses the security requirements while being able to check the address ownership of the MN. PKBU also incorporates a method to verify the reachability of the MN.

Ubiquitous mobile computing is becoming easier and more attractive in this ambient technological Internet world. However, some portable devices such as Personal Digital Assistant (PDAs) and smart phones are still encountering inherent constraints of limited storages and computing resources. To alleviate this problem, we develop a cost-effective protocol, iATA to transfer ATA commands and data over TCP/IP network between mobile appliances and stationary servers. It provides mobile users a virtual storage platform which is physically resided at remote home or office. As communications are made through insecure Internet connections, security risks of adopting this service become a concern. There are many reported cases in the history where attackers masquerade as legitimate users, illegally access to network-based applications or systems by breaking through the poor authentication gates. In this paper, we propose a mutual authentication and secure session termination scheme as the first and last defense steps to combat identity thief and fraud threat in particular for iATA services. Random validation factors, large prime numbers, current timestamps, one-way hash functions and one-time session key are deployed accordingly in the scheme. Moreover, we employ the concept of hard factorization problem (HFP) in the termination phase to against fraud termination requests. Theoretical security analysis discussed in later section indicates the scheme supports mutual authentication and is robust against several attacks such as verifiers' impersonation, replay attack, denial-of-services (DoS) attack and so on.
A PAK(Password-Authenticated Key Exchange) protocol is used as a protocol to provide both the mutual authentication and allow the communication entities to share the session key for the subsequent secure communication, using the human-memorable portable short-length password, In this paper, we propose distributed key exchange protocols applicable to a smartcard using the MTI(Matsumoto, Takashima, Imai) key distribution protocol and PAK protocol. If only one server keeps the password verification data which is used for password authentication protocol. then It could easily be compromised by an attacker, called the server-compromised attack, which results in impersonating either a user or a server, Therefore, these password verification data should be distributed among the many server using the secret sharing scheme, The Object of this paper Is to present a password-based key exchange protocol which is to allow user authentication and session key distribution, using the private key in a smartcard and a password typed by a user. Moreover, to avoid the server-compromised attack, we propose the distributee key exchange protocols using the MTI key distribution protocol, And we present the security analysis of the proposed key exchange protocol and compare the proposed protocols with the existing protocols.

The development of wireless communication technology and change in the ICT market has led to the development of the M2M service and technology. Under these circumstances, the M2M environment has been the focus of communication environment construction between machines without control or direct intervention of human being. With characteristics of wireless communication environment, the possibility of being exposed to numerous security threats and safe communication security technology have becoming an issue an important requirements for problems such as data exposure, forgery, modulation, deletion, and privacy. This research analyzes requirements of trapdoor collision hash, generates keys between groups under the M2M environment by using the specificity of trapdoor, and suggests technology to exchange keys with session keys. Further, it also suggests techniques to confirm authentication of device and gateway in accordance with group key generation. The techniques herein suggested are confirmed as safe methods in that they have attack resistance such as Masquerade Attack, Man-in-the-Middle Attack, and Replay Attack in the group communication block by using the speciality of collision message and collision hash.

Now a day, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are being widely used in different areas one of which is healthcare services. A wireless medical sensor network senses patient's vital physiological signs through medical sensor-nodes deployed on patient's body area; and transmits these signals to devices of registered medical professionals. These sensor-nodes have low computational power and limited storage capacity. Moreover, the wireless nature of technology attracts malicious minds. Thus, proper user authentication is a prime concern before granting access to patient's sensitive and private data. Recently, P. Kumar et al. claimed to propose a strong authentication protocol for healthcare using Wireless Medical Sensor Networks (WMSN). However, we find that P. Kumar et al.'s scheme is flawed with a number of security pitfalls. Information stored inside smart card, if extracted, is enough to deceive a valid user. Adversary can not only access patient's physiological data on behalf of a valid user without knowing actual password, can also send fake/irrelevant information about patient by playing role of medical sensor-node. Besides, adversary can guess a user's password and is able to compute the session key shared between user and medical sensor-nodes. Thus, the scheme looses message confidentiality. Additionally, the scheme fails to resist insider attack and lacks user anonymity.

E-mail system is considered as a most important communication media, which can be used to transmit personal information by internet. But e-mail attack also has been increased by spoofing e-mail sender address. Therefore, this work proposes sender verification faculty for spam mail protection at sender's MTA by using security card for protection forged sender and also for authenticating legal sender. Sender's mail MT A requests security card's code number to sender. Then sender input code number and generate session key after sender verification. Session key is used to encrypt sender's signature and secure message transmission. This work can provide efficient and secure e-mail sender authentication with sender verification and message encryption.

Recently, according to being advanced internet, mobile communication technique, Telematics environment which users in vehicle can use internet service in LAN(Local Area Network) via mobile device has being realized. In this paper, we propose the remote user authentication protocol to solve these issues. Additionally, we use biometrics(fingerprint) for our user authentication protocol cause it can provide to avoid critical weakness that can be lost, stolen, or forgotten and to make authentication easily. In our user authentication protocol, to protect the biometric we use session key which is generated from master key distributed in our key distribution protocol. In particular, we propose secure protocol between APs considering weakness of security in mobile environment. Based on implementation of our proposed protocol, we conform that our proposed protocols are secure from various attack methods and provide real-time authentication.
