  • Stabilized tracking platform in a missile consisting of a flat planar antenna, pitch/yaw gimbals, gear trains, and current controlled DC drive motors for pitch and yaw gimbal must have a capability to track a target as an inertial sensor in the presence of missile body motion such as maneuvering and vibration. Because of this reason, tracking a target from dynamic platform requires a servo architecture that includes a outer tracking loop(position loop) and inner rate loop that stabilizes the line of sight(LOS). This paper presents a gimbaled platform model including nonlinear phenomena due to viscous and Coulomb friction based on experimental data and torque equilibrium equation, the design concept for the inner tacholoop having P controller structure ...

  • In this paper, the stability of a flexible missle, idealized as a free-free beam, is evaluated by using the finite element method. For the study, heavy machinery part is modeled as a concentrated mass and the thrust, which is controlled by a feedback sensor located at a predetermined position, is considered as a constant follower force. The aerodynamic forces, the structural damping, the cross sectional variation servo lag effect are neglected in this study. With unconstrained variational principle, the finite element method is applied to the nondimensionalized beam eqution. The matrix eigenvalue equation is obtained and the eigenvalues are calculated by a computer for the stability analysis. The stability is evaluated by the inspection of the eigenvalues are calculated by a computer for the stabilith analysis. The stabilith is evaluated by the inspection of the eigenvalues of the problem. For the study, the behaviors of the eigenvalues at various thrusts and the effects of the magnitudes and positions of the concentrated mass and directional control constant are analyzed.

  • This paper implement image gradient detection algorithm with high-performance DSP. First the NTSC color image convert to B/W image. The image gradient detect with Hough transform after edge detection image from the B/W images. The value of image gradient detection control the servo motor to original position of the NTSC camera if camera base to the left or right tilt.

  • In this paper, we propose a ADALINE controller using fuzzy-backpropagation algorithm to adjust weight. In the proposed ADALINE controller, using fuzzy algorithm for traning neural network, controller make use of ADALINE due to simple and computing efficiency. And then it applies to servo-motor as an controlled process. And then it take a simulation for the position control, so the verify the usefulness of the proposed ADALINE controller.

  • In a large diesel engine actuator position servo system, it is impossible to isolate an actuator fault from a load torque with conventional fault detection isolation (FDI) schemes because they are propagated through a channel. This paper deals with a parity equation based residual generation to isolate them in the system. The actuator fault is modelled by a multiplicative type fault that can be characterized as discrepancies between the nominal and actual plant parameters, whereas the load torque is modelled by an additive disturbance. The transformation implemented in the residual generator should be determined on-line to achieve the isolation. Simulation studies show the practical applicability of the FDI scheme.

  • The problem of establishing the servo system to reach the desired location keeping all features in the field of view and following a straight line is considered. In addition, robustness of camera calibration parameters is considered in this paper. The proposed approach is based on switching from position-based visual servoing (PBVS) to image-based visual servoing (IBVS) and allows the camera path to follow a straight line. To achieve the objective, a pose estimation method is required; the camera's target pose is estimated from the obtained images without the knowledge of the object. A switched control law moves the camera equipped to a robot end-effector near the desired location following a straight line in Cartesian space and then positions it to the desired pose with robustness to camera calibration error. Finally simulation results show the feasibility of the proposed visual servoing technique.

  • In the position control system, the output of a controller is generally used as the input of a plant but the undesired noise is included in the output of a controller. Therefore, there is a need to use a precompensator for rejecting the undesired noise. In this paper, the expanded PID controller with a precompensator is constructed. The precompensator and PID controller are designed by a neural network with two-hidden layer and these coefficients are changed automatically to be a desired response of system when the response characteristic is changed under a condition.

  • Position controls are very important in semiconductor manufacturing devices, machine tools precision measuring instruments, etc. to measure the distance of movement of moving objects in minute units and the accuracy of measurement for the moving distance in these devices affect the performance of the whole devices. Therefore, in those precision instruments, a sensing device that can measure the distance of movement with high-precision resolution is required. In this paper, a novel encoder of digital and analog hybrid type is proposed. It is shown that from this experiment a high-resolution angle measurement device can be designed by a low cost incremental encoder.

  • An attitude control system using reaction thrusters for the upper stage of a launch vehicle is considered. The thruster configuration (position and direction) determines control system response, fuel consumption, effective torque and system fault tolerance. We propose a procedure for finding the optimal thruster configuration with desired control effectiveness over the range of selected torque commands. An optimization technique called Particle Swarm Optimization is used for the numerical experiments. The validity of the solution is checked through computer simulations.

  • In the multi-pass welding of pressure vessels or ships, the mechanical touch sensor system is generally used together with a manipulator to measure the gap and depth of the narrow gap to perform seam tracking. Unfortunately, such mechanical touch sensors may commit measuring errors caused by the eterioration of the measuring device. An automation system of narrow gap multi-pass welding using a laser vision system which can track the seam line of narrow gap and which can control welding power has been developed. The joint profile of the narrow gap, with 250mm depth and 28mm width, can be captured by laser vision camera. The image is then processed for defining tracking positions of the torch during welding. Then, the real-time correction of lateral and vertical position of the torch can be done by the laser vision system. The adaptive control of welding conditions like welding Currents and welding speeds, can also be performed by the laser vision system, which cannot be done by conventional mechanical touch systems. The developed automation system will be adopted to reduce the idle time of welders, which happens frequently in conventional long welding processes, and to improve the reliability of the weld quality as well.
