A Probability based Message Synchronization Mechanisms for Massively Multi-Player Online Game (대용량 온라인 게임을 위한 확률 기반 메시지 동기화 기법)

  • In the online game that thousands of participants connect to a game world by using Internet simultaneously, participants of the game world may have different hardwares and network environments, and messages of participants should be synchronization. A solution for the synchronization problem is to wait for a certain amount of time until the server processes the message. It is not easy to determine a suitable waiting period because of the trade-off between the fairness and the responsiveness. In this paper we propose a method to decide a waiting period by considering features of the MMOFPS game and the probability of interaction among participants. We implement the proposed method and perform experiments for the performance evaluation.

  • Biometric technology has been proposed as a new means to replace conventional PIN or password because it is hard to be lost and has the low possibility of illegal use. However, unlike a PIN or password, there is no way to modify the exposure if it is exposed and used illegally. To solve the problems, we propose to apply OTP using biometric information to mobile devices for more secure and adaptable authentication. In this paper, we propose a secure framework for delivering biometric information as mobile OTP to the server (TTP) and compared this paper with existed methods about security and performance.

  • A synchronized multimedia presentation consists of a collection of objects, with each object having one or more rendering intervals within the presentation timeline. These intervals specify the objects' start times and end times relative to the presentation timeline. In this paper we consider the problem of streaming a multimedia presentation from a server to a client over a bandwith-limited communication network. We suppose that each of the static objects is layered-encoded. For a given maximum delay, we consider the problem of finding the optimal number of quality of the presentation. We devise efficient algorithms for determining an optimal policy for several criteria. We also consider the problem of gradual rendering of objects after their start times.

  • In this paper, we discuss a model for increasing reliability of data through N screen server and client model environment. Our Digital Carousel enables user to share media objects through media synchronization mechanism. We suggest the Digital Carousel system based on CoAP(Constrained Application Protocol) for N-Screen so that the users participated in collaborative work may refer shared media objects as the same view to others. With this sharing system, a group cooperating users can share applications data. This paper explained a performance analysis of a system with function comparison running on multimedia collaboration work based on CoAP and N screen techniques.

  • The existing protocols proposed in network mobility (NEMO) environment can require many computational costs and can bring about a delay of binding update. To solve these problems, in this paper we propose an authentication protocol supporting secure seamless handover in NEMO environment. The proposed protocol can handle quickly mutual authentication between a mobile router (MR) and an access router (AR), which uses group key among ARs and a master key (MK) issuing from key issuing server (KIS) for reducing the time of binding update as much as possible. In performance, the proposed protocol can process quickly binding update with little computational cost comparison with the existing binding update protocols and it results in robustness against existing attacks.

  • For recent years, hacking is in the trends of making excessive traffic unnecessarily to obstruct the service by getting a system's performance down. And we can also see systems paralyzed in service ability due to the flash crowds of normal traffic to a popular website. This is an important problem certainly solved in the point of QoS guarantee for the clients. It is known that the former is DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) attack and the latter is FE(Flash Event). These two are samely anomalous traffic because these make excessive congestion on the network or system and downgrade the system's service ability. In this paper, we propose a scheme for protecting the system against anomalous traffic and for guaranteeing the QoS. For this, a server records and maintains the information of clients accessed more than one time before when it is in normal condition. When it falls into the congestion, the records are used for filtering the spoofed IP. We send and receive the ICMP request/reply packet to know whether the IP is spoofed. And we also propose for applying the object spliting of CDN to guarantee the QoS in the initial FE situation.

  • Recently, many companies are interested in adopting cloud computing as their IT strategy. However, no distinct results have appeared in the substantial implementation of this technology. The main reason for such result is from the absence of research models leading to high impact studies on cloud computing. Thus, this study attempts to find a possible answer for the following research question : what factors influence an organizational assimilation of cloud computing? This study investigates Technology-Push (TP)/Need-Pull (NP) theory as a main factor affecting cloud computing assimilation. Also, the study examines the moderating role of organizational readiness. TP includes of perceived benefits, vendor pressure, cost savings, and IT activity intensity while NP includes competitor orientation, information technology policy, technological turbulence, and performance gaps. In addition, organizational readiness suggests two variables, financial resources and technological knowledge. Result from 217 adopting organizations showed that all of these factors with exception of competitor orientation and vendor pressure, have statistically significant impact on assimilation of cloud computing. The implications of the findings propose a theoretical framework for the foundation of studies on cloud computing assimilation, which can server as important practical guidelines for technology development.

  • This paper proposes a system for convenient remote control and management of the lockers with a smart phone. The key features of the proposed system are as follows. First, we connect the lockers to the server and then use the authentication procedure to open and close their lockers. Second, we create instant lockers to increase convenience for users who need to use casual necessities. Unlike traditional analog methods, we finally develop certification procedures. Particularly, log data are better secured than traditional ones. The performance assessment of the proposed system is simulated by producing a dummy model. We will show that the proposed system could effectively support opening and closing the lockers using smart phones.

  • This paper proposes and implements consistency algorithm that is serviced streaming data efficiently in VOD system. The media data is loaded into each node by Round Robin method. The barrier mechanism is changed into the minimum data factor(SH, GOP) of media data in this paper. In addition in order to fast media data service, the additional features are implemented in the consistency algorithm. Additional feature of the consistency algorithm is added. First, time synchronization algorithm is added the suggested consistency algorithm. Second, the prepaging mechanism supports efficient buffering service. I experimented the suggested consistency algorithm two DSM systems. The performance is good due to the last barrier algorithm.

  • The multiprocessor architecture is a good method to improve the computer system performance. The CC-NUMA provides a single shared space with the physically distributed memories is used widely in the multiprocessor computer system. A CC-NUMA has the full-mapped directory for the shared memory md uses a remote cache memory for tile fast memory access. In this paper, we propose a processing node architecture for a CC-NUMA system and a cache coherency protocol on the physically distributed but logically shared system. We show an implementation result of the system which is adopted the cache coherency protocol.
