  • BiCMOS circuit consist of CMOS part which constructs logic function, and bipolar part which drives output load. In BiCMOS circuits, transistor stuck-open faults exhibit delay faults in addition to sequential behavior. In this paper, proposes a method for efficiently generating test pattern which detect stuck-open in BiCMOS circuits. In proposed method, BiCMOS circuit is divided into pull-up part and pull-down part, using structural property of BiCMOS circuit, and we generate test pattern using set theory for efficiently detecting faults which occured each divided blocks.

  • This study was performed to study the sequential clinical and pathologic changes of Korean isolate KBA-2 of Neospora caninum in SCID mice following intraperitoneal infection. Also the results of PCR and in vitro isolation was compared during the study. The infection appears to be disseminated hematogenously, when the infection was chased every 3days up to 21 days following infection. The PCR method was determined to be more effective than in vitro isolation regarding early detection of the organism follwing infection.

  • In this paper, we introduce a charge pump PLL architecture which employs precharge phase frequency detector(PFD) and sequential PFD to achieve high frequency operation and fast acquisition. Operation frequency is increased by using precharge PFD when the phase difference is within -${\pi}\;{\sim}\;{\pi}$ and acquisition time is shortened by using sequential PFD and increased charge pump current when the phase difference is larger than |${\pi}$|. SO error detection range of proposed PLL structure is not limited to -${\pi}\;{\sim}\;{\pi}$. By virtue of this multi-phase frequency detector structure, the maximum operating frequency of 423MHz at 2.5V and faster acquisition were achieved by simulation.

  • The problem of selecting variables in the presence of outliers is considered. Variable selection and outlier detection are not separable problems because each observation affects the fitted regression equation differently and has a different influence on each variable. We suggest a simultaneous method for variable selection and outlier detection in a linear regression model. The suggested procedure uses a sequential method to detect outliers and uses all possible subset regressions for model selections. A simplified version of the procedure is also proposed to reduce the computational burden. The procedures are compared to other variable selection methods using real data sets known to contain outliers. Examples show that the proposed procedures are effective and superior to robust algorithms in selecting the best model.

  • Defect region segmentation of TFT-LCD images is performed by combining defect pixels detected by a defect detection method into defect region, or by using morphological operations to segment defect region. Therefore, the result of segmentation of the defect region is highly dependent on the defect detection result. In this paper, we propose a method which segments defect regions sequentially according to the possibility of being included in defect regions in TFT-LCD images. The proposed method repeats the process of detecting a seed using the median value and the median absolute deviation of the image, and segments the defect region using the seeded region growing method. We confirmed the superiority of the proposed method to segment defect regions using pseudo-images and real TFT-LCD images.

  • In this paper we study the effect of failure detection equipment(FDE)s on system availability. A new repair scheme is considered for the step of repairing FDE which becomes out of order in the course of repairing the main system(MS). We compute and compare the availability of MS.

  • This paper presents a fault diagnosis(detection and isolation) approach for the Ammunition Transport Automation system(ATAS). Due to limited time and information available during its cyclic operation, the on-line fault detection algorithm consists of sequential test logics referring to the normal states, which can be considered as a kind of expert system. If a failure were detected, the off-line isolation algorithm finds the fault location through trained ART2 neural network. By the results of simulations and some on-line field test, it has been shown that the presented approach is effective enough and applicable to related automation systems.

  • Edge detection is one of issues with essential importance in the area of image process. An edge in image is a boundary or contour which a significant change occurs in image intensity. In the paper, we process edge detection algorithms which are based on Potts automata. The dynamical behavior of these automata is completely determined by Lyapunov operators for sequential and parallel update. If Potts Automata convergence to fixed points, then it can be used to image processing. From the generalized Potts automata point of view, we propose a Potts Automata technique for detecting edge. Based on the experimental results we discuss the advantage and efficiency.

  • The total system is composed of the main system (MS) and the failure detection equipment (FDE) which detects failures of MS. The analysis of system reliability is performed when the failure of FDE is possible. Several repair policies are considered to determine the order of repair of failed systems, which are sequential repair (SQ), priority repair (PR), independent repair (ID), and simultaneous repair (SM). The states of MS-FDE systems are represented by Markov models according to repair policies and the main purpose of this paper is to derive the system availabilities of the Markov models. Analytical solutions of the stationary equations are derived for the Markov models and the system availabilities are immediately determined using the stationary solutions. A simple illustrative example is discussed for the comparison of availability values of the repair policies considered in this paper.

  • The detection of all the symbols transmitted simultaneously in multiuser systems using limited wireless resources is challenging. Traditional model-based methods show high performance with perfect channel state information (CSI); however, severe performance degradation will occur if perfect CSI cannot be acquired. In contrast, data-driven methods perform slightly worse than model-based methods in terms of symbol error ratio performance in perfect CSI states; however, they are also able to overcome extreme performance degradation in imperfect CSI states. This study proposes a novel deep learning-based method by improving a state-of-the-art data-driven technique called deep soft interference cancellation (DSIC). The enhanced DSIC (EDSIC) method detects multiuser symbols in a fully sequential manner and uses an efficient neural network structure to ensure high performance. Additionally, error-propagation mitigation techniques are used to ensure robustness against channel uncertainty. The EDSIC guarantees a performance that is very close to the optimal performance of the existing model-based methods in perfect CSI environments and the best performance in imperfect CSI environments.
