  • This study compares speech rate, articulatory rate, and pause between the children with mild and moderate Speech Sound Disorder (SSD) who performed Sentence Repetition Tasks and the Typically Developing children (TD) of the same chronological age. The results showed that three groups are categorized in terms of speaking rate and articulatory rate. There is no difference between the two groups with SSD children, namely between the mild and moderate groups. However, there is a significant difference in their rate of speech and the articulatory rate between the two groups, such that the two groups with SSD are significantly slower than the TD group. The results also showed that there are no significant difference in the length and frequency of pause between the moderate group and the mild group. However, there is a substantial difference between them and the TD group. This study, provided the basic data for evaluating the speech rate of the children and implies that there are limitations in speech rate among the children with SSD.

  • Sinjungsin Mask Play, one of Ttangseolbeop, is related to Seongjusin's life story. Sinjungsin Mask Play is a reconstruction of the story of the folk gods Seongjusin met while returning home. Seongjusin's life story proceeds in the form of Mask Play, and the monk who leads the sermon plays narration and main roles. Many believers play various roles and musicians. Sinjungsin Mask Play introduces many folk beliefs, sounds for intrigue, and talks. Sinjungsin Mask Play uses the same method of enumeration and repetition as the existing Mask Play. The repetition of a sentence or phrase plays a role in foreseeing the meaning of the context or foretelling the development of the plot to the audience. This repetition is intended to emphasize the situation of the scene and to create rhythm. Since Mask Play was exclusively for the common people, Mask Play actors use the repeating method commonly used in folk songs to form lines. This gives the audience a familiarity, effectively communicating the lines and responding to their tastes. Sinjungsin Mask Play borrowed people's way of playing for the public's mission. It inherits the dramatic forms of traditional traditional plays such as repetition of words or sentences or phrases, codification of words or sentences, borrowing of existing songs, and formal expression units. In addition, through repeated performances, believers can easily and easily learn and understand. This is the dramatic form and characteristics of Sinjungsin Mask Play. Sinjungsin Mask Play was handed down from Faith Communities and was used as a means of folk cultivation to spread illegality. Buddhism externalizes the process of accepting folk beliefs through Mask Play, and in the case of Shinto who participated directly or indirectly, they naturally acquire the belief system of Hwaeom Kyung through play. Sinjungsin Mask Play, one of Ttangseolbeop, can be said to have great value as an ICH, as well as popularization and mission.

  • Recently a variety of study of Korean parsing system is carried out by many software engineers and linguists. The parsing system mainly uses the method of machine learning or symbol processing paradigm. But the parsing system using machine learning has long training time because the data of Korean sentence is very big. And the system shows the limited recognition rate because the data has self error. In this thesis we design system using feature module which can reduce training time and analyze the recognized rate each the number of training sentences and repetition times. The designed system uses the separated modules and sorted table for binary search. We use the refined 36,090 sentences which is extracted by Sejong Corpus. The training time is decreased about three hours and the comparison of recognized rate is the highest as 84.54% when 10,000 sentences is trained 50 times. When all training sentence(32,481) is trained 10 times, the recognition rate is 82.99%. As a result it is more efficient that the system is used the refined data and is repeated the training until it became the steady state.

  • Object:This study was to investigate the difference of speech perception ability in schizophrenic patients, and depression patients in order to explore trait-dependent speech perception ability of each disorder. Methods:The speech perception ability was assessed with masked speech tracking test(MST) in schizophrenic patients(N=31), depression patients(N=25), and normal controls(N=21). The continuous performance test(CPT) and sentence repetition test(SRT) were also used for assessment of attention and working memory. Results:The schizophrenic patients showed significant impaired MST performance, compared with depressive patients and normal controls. The performances of CPT and SRT were also more impaired in schizophrenic patients. The difference of MST performances between two patient group was cancelled out after consideration of differences in CPT & SRT performances. Conclusions:These results imply that schizophrenic patients have the impaired speech perception ability compared with depressive patients and normal controls. But speech perception ability was significantly influenced with CPT and SRT. For evaluation of pure speech perception ability, the more elaborate controlled study that excluded factors such as attention, working memory and intelligence is needed.

  • With controlling Drones, although it was discussed in the previous study which showed a possibility. Which is personality and property rights of third parties could be violated while operating the drone with a video camera. But It's hard to find out precedents related to drones in Korea. In case of that someone try to control the drone which is equipped with a camera in a yard of neighborhood, the German District Court (Potsdam) considered an operator of drone has little bit of careless to do his duty and admit nonfeasance claim in the owner of the one's property for prevention to repetition of similar situation according to a nonfeasance claim for prevention to Section 1004 (1) sentence 2 of the German Civil Code(BGB). The drone which is equipped with a camera have possibilities to disrupt property and personal rights of the owner. Because a danger in repetition is getting larger regarding the violation of law. Moreover, there is a case that someone shot down the drone which is equipped with a camer. Because it has a risk to interrupt private life and cause some dangerous in our life. The German district court(Riesa) recently have considered that controlling the drone with a camera in private spaces is illegal as a violation of personal life. In addtion to, the action of property owner shot down drone is a legal according to § 228 of the German Civil Code(BGB) which is caleed "Necessity". Although it is difficult to apply to foreign cases directly to Korea, similar cases are likely to be occurred in Korea. The decision of the German District Court showed implications to Korea. As demand for the camera-equipped drone increases in Korea, it is time to discuss specific measures for drone violations.

  • Reading fluency refers to the ability to read sentences or paragraphs accurately, quickly, and with appropriate prosodic expression. Most reading fluency assessments exclude expressive ability because it is difficult to objectively measure. Therefore, in this study, we examined all elements of reading fluency by analyzing prosodic characteristics of reading scenario texts to maximize expressive reading. The subjects were 30 male students in the first and second grades of middle school (15 normal and 15 poor readers). To analyze the accuracy aspect, error types at the syllable level were analyzed for each group, and related acoustic variables were measured and examined in terms of prosodic aspects. The reading accuracy analysis showed that the poor reading group had a higher error rate than the normal. In terms of error types, the normal group showed the order of 'substitution>omission>correction>insertion>repetition', whereas the poor reading group was in the order of 'correction>substitution>repetition/insertion>omission'. For the speech tempo, the dyslexic students were slower than the typical students for all sentence types. The prosodic variables also showed a high frequency of accentual phrases (AP) and intonation phrases (IP) in sentences along with a wide intensity range.

  • The current study aimed to identify the characteristics of speech rate and pause in children with spastic cerebral palsy (CP) and their relationships with speech intelligibility. In all, 26 children with CP, 4 with no speech motor involvement and age-appropriate language ability (NSMI-LCT), 6 with no speech motor involvement and impaired language ability (NSMI-LCI), 6 with speech motor involvement and age-appropriate language ability (SMI- LCT), and 10 with speech motor involvement and impaired language ability (SMI-LCI) participated in the study. Speech samples for the speech rate and pause analysis were extracted using a sentence repetition task. Acoustic analysis were made in Praat. First, it was found that regardless of the presence of language impairment, significant group differences between the NSMI and SMI groups were found in speech rate and articulation rate. Second, the SMI groups showed a higher ratio of pause time to sentence production time, more frequent pauses, and longer durations of pauses than the NSMI groups. Lastly, there were significant correlations among speech rate, articulation rate, and intelligibility. These findings suggest that slow speech rate is the main feature in SMI groups, and that both speech rate and articulation rate play important roles in the intelligibility of children with spastic CP.

  • For hearing-impaired students, it is known that reading ability is the most important means of communication. In the meanwhile, with recent development of wireless communication technologies, mobile devices are used in various education fields. The purpose of this study is to design and implement a mobile system to improve reading ability of hearing-impaired students. For this purpose, "Question Generation Strategy", known as one of the effective methods for improving reading ability, is adopted to make study contents. Also, 2Bi (Bilingual-Bicultural) Approach Model, an attractive model for improving reading ability of hearing-impaired students, is used. Characteristics of the proposed mobile system are as follows. First, the system is developed to let students learn written language usage through repetition and difference of two organically-related curriculums for hearing-impaired students. Second, study contents are made to increase sentence understanding ability using an activity that is to let students read articles, make questions and answer questions for themselves. Third, the proposed system is designed and implemented to allow students to choose study contents individually anytime anywhere depending on their study levels.

  • This thesis composes separated words in text for extracting keywords from Japanese, proposes extracting indexing keywords which consist of a compound noun using words and sentences information with the rules in the sentences. It constructs generative rules of compound nouns to be based In dependence as a result of analysing character of keywords in the text not the same way as before. To hold other extracting keywords and the content of sentence, and suggest how to decide importance concerned some restriction and repetition of words about generative rules. To verify the validity of keywords extracting, we have used titles and abstracts from Japanese thesis 65 files about natural language and/or voice processing, and obtain 63% in outputting one in the top rank.

  • Multi-dimensional verbal short-term memory mechanisms are largely divided into the phonological channel and the lexical-semantic channel. The former is called phonological short-term memory and the latter is called semantic short-term memory. Phonological short-term memory is further segmented into the phonological input buffer and the phonological output buffer. In this study, the language performance of each of three patients with similar levels of conduction aphasia was analyzed in terms of multi-dimensional verbal short-term memory. To this end, three patients with conduction aphasia were instructed to perform four different aspects of language tasks that are spontaneous speaking, repetition, spontaneous writing, and dictation in both word and sentence level. Moreover, the patients' phonological memories and semantic short-term memories were evaluated using digit span tests and verbal learning tests. As a result, the three subjects exhibited various types of performances and error responses in the four aspects of language tests, and the short-term memory tests also did not produce identical results. The language performance of three patients with conduction aphasia can be explained according to whether the defects occurred in the semantic short-term memory, phonological input buffer and/or phonological output buffer. In this study, the relations between language and multi-dimensional verbal short-term memory were discussed based on the results of language tests and short-term memory tests in patients with conduction aphasia.
