  • The study attempted to examine the effects of hybrid simulation practice program on critical thinking disposition, self-efficacy, communication competency, and clinical competency of nursing students. The study was one group pre-test and post-test design. Data were collected between April 24 to May 5, 2023 from 35 nursing students. The collected data was analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program, frequency analysis, mean, standard deviation, and paired t-test. Research results showed that nursing students' critical thinking disposition(t=7.01, p<.001), self-efficacy(t=2.17, p=.037), communication competency(t=2.70, p=.011), and clinical competency(t=6.60, p<.001) were improved after the simulation program. The hybrid simulation practice program is significant in that it applies various learning tools, including high-fidelity-low-fidelity-role play to strengthen the connection between nursing students' theory and practice.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate what middle school Home Economics(HE) teachers perceive, practice and need for self-supervision at school related to HE. Questionnaires were sent by E-mail and 150 were collected. Descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA analysis were reported using SPSS/win 10.1. The results of this research were as follows: First, middle school HE teachers perceived that self-supervision at school was essential since it promoted self reflection of teachers themselves and improved professional skills. Furthermore, peer-coaching was highly preferred. Second, negative responses to the supervision of principal, vice-principal, and peer teachers overwhelmed positive answers. Information exchange among peer teachers was frequent, yet, approximately 22.6% of middle school HE teachers were still avoiding sharing information process for several reasons. About half of the teachers answered that all teachers needed to participate in this process. Third, they pointed out that self-supervision at school was not implemented well because of the lack of time due to the heavy work load, negative and passive attitude for the improvement of teaching-learning activities, administration-centered supervision that did not reflect teachers' opinion, and shortage of economical, and environmental support.. HE teachers perceived that peer teachers who were doing good practices were most helpful for the supervision. Also, they preferred self-evaluation at the end of the self-supervision at school. Forth, to improve self-supervision at school, there were very high demands for reduction of administrative work, additional time, fundamental philosophy toward HE education. Fifth, the purpose and detailed plans of self-supervision were recognized as the results that were democratically derived by the HE teachers. Sixth, class inspection and informal inspection were operated once in a year, and self-training was rarely operated. Peer coaching and self-coaching were operated occasionally. Self-coaching and peer coaching were reported as the most helpful types of supervision. In addition, HE teachers answered that supervision was helpful to teaching method followed by contents, evaluation, and philosophy of education.

  • This study investigates the effects of formative assessment utilizing mobile applications on interest and self-directedness in science instruction. The study subjects are two 6th grade classes from H elementary school located in Incheon, and the experimental group and the comparative group are composed of 21 students, respectively. The students from the experimental group have been taught with mobile devices while the comparative group has been taught in methods consistent with the current teaching standards. For the sake of research, the results of the method applied to the mobile device focus group have been edited using Google Drive Forms, entered as QR codes and stored in order for them to later be utilized for teaching and learning process. In the process, the teacher has provided the students with feedback based on their answers. The students of comparative group are to solve the same formative assessment in paper. As a result, the teacher of the mobile device focus group has been able to go through twenty-nine questions on formative assessment in the teaching and learning process, confirm the correct answers five times and provide feedback twenty-five times for additional explanation. In the inquiry about interest, the mobile device group scored 4.64 points and the standard one scored just 1.99 points (p<0.01). Fifteen students answered in the interview that and the major reason why they scored high has been because it was fun to study with mobile devices. When it comes to self-directedness over the process of teaching and learning, the mobile device focus group has answered positively but the standard group has scored relatively low (p<0.01).

  • We have information through a variety of media such as language, pictures and internet. Since we get information through texts mostly, we can say that reading ability which enables a person to read a text and understand its meaning basically is the most essential for people to possess. Taking the advantage of the fact that a school is a place where learning and daily-life guidance can be made at the same time, we need to try encouraging students to involve in learning process and feel a sense of accomplishment by adding consultation between a teacher and a student or between a student and a student in Korean subject. This study selected two fifth grade classes of an elementary school of small and medium-sized city as an experimental group and a control group respectively and applied reading strategy program by using interaction of complementary lesson as the number of ten times during five weeks. It focused on making students interested in complementary class and encouraging them to become active participants. This study's goal is to see if the reading strategy program affects students' reading comprehension, metacognition and a sense of self-efficacy The results of the study are as in the following: first, the reading strategy program of complementary lesson is effective in students' reading comprehension and a range of factual understanding and sentimental understanding. To achieve the purpose, this study applied a web based learning. 166 university students participated in web-based learning for 4 weeks. After web-based learning, they checked self report for cognitive load and made concept map for schema acquisition and the datum from them were used for 2 ways ANOVA. According to the findings, groups in prior-knowledge level invested significantly differences on cognitive load and a question group in case of supportive information types didn't invested significant differences on cognitive load with statement group. Second, groups in prior-knowledge level invested significantly differences on schema acquisition and a question group in case of supportive information types invested significantly higher schema acquisition than a statement group. Furthermore, it happened interaction effect between supportive information types and prior-knowledge level on schema acquisition. This research has several implications with regard to suggesting the guidelines and conditions for the authentic task of the novice.

The results of the qualitative analysis are as follows: Action learning teaching method provided opportunities to encounter diverse cases through student led and group activities. Students could experience a specific problem solving method between parents-children relationships as prospective parents. Students could have a chance to solve real-life situations that are difficult to experience in theoretical classroom situations between teachers-parents relationship as prospective teachers. Although the realization of practical knowledge of real-world conflict has been challenging, it has become a chance to have confidence with the role of parents and the role of teachers in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the media contained in textbooks for students with disabilities based on the information processing model, and to find ways to utilize library materials for class improvement for them. To this end, the media included in the in-depth learning activities of the Korean language textbooks of the 2015 revised special education basic curriculum were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was found that students with disabilities received information mainly through vision, process information through understanding, and use language intelligence to produce results. Specifically, they accepts learning contents through illustrations and texts, processes the contents based on understanding such as reasoning and explanation, and then uses linguistic intelligence such as writing and speaking to produce results. Based on the results of this analysis, a practical method to utilize library materials in the Korean language class of students with disabilities was proposed as follows. Developing a variety of input mediums based on reading stages and collection mapping for students with disabilities. Providing book materials through reading and listening. Teaching appropriate methodological knowledge to self-directly solve advanced learning activities. In addition, developing types of writing and writing strategies that can help various production activities.
