The purpose of this study was to develop a workbook that can support the class and evaluation of the subject, 「Food safety and health」 and to verify its validity. The development direction of the workbook was set by analyzing the 「Food safety and health」 curriculum, dietary education materials, and previous studies related to the workbook, and the overall structure was designed by deriving the activity ideas for each area. Based on this, the draft was developed, and the draft went through several rounds of cross-review by the authors and the examination and revision by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, before the final edited version was developed. The workbook was finalized with corrections and enhancements based on the advice of 9 experts and 44 home economics teachers. The workbook consists of 4 areas: the 'food selection' area, with 10 learning topics and 36 lessons, the 'food poisoning and food management' area, with 10 learning topics and 36 lessons, the 'cooking' area, with 11 learning topics and 43 lessons, and the 'healthy eating' area, with 11 learning topics and 55 lessons, resulting in a total of 42 learning topics, 170 lessons. The workbook was designed to evenly cultivate practical problem-solving competency, self-reliance capacity, creative thinking capacity, and community capacity. In-depth inquiry-learning is conducted on the content, and the context is structured so that self-diagnosis can be made through evaluation. According to the validity test of the workbook, it was evaluated to be very appropriate for encouraging student-participatory classes and evaluations, and to create a class atmosphere that promotes inquiry by strengthening experiments and practices. In the current situation where the high school credit system is implemented and individual students' learning options are emphasized, the results of this study is expected to help expand the scope of home economics-based elective courses and contribute to realizing student-led classrooms with a focus on inquiry.

Understanding the students' ability and tendency of self assessment is one of the important factors in helping their learning and in giving the appropriate feedbacks. The purposes of this study is to analyse the coincidency of the students' self-assessment with the teacher assessment, and the tendency of over and under estimation. The students performed open investigations and assessed their process skills by checking their investigation reports with a given checklist. The total mean of the 'Self-Assessment Capability(SAC)' was 0.73 by 1. The SAC was related to the achievement, not to the gender. The correlation between SAC and achievement was significantly positive(r=0.7, p<.01), and for the girls, the tendency was remarkable. Among the five areas of process skills of open investigation, students got the highest SAC score in the managing and interpreting data area, and the lowest SAC in the drawing conclusion area. The mean of 'Self-Assessment Tendency(SAT)' for all items showed that students overestimated their process skills. While the high achievement students underestimated their process skills, the middle and low showed the tendency of overestimation.
This study examined the effects of students'perceptions of classroom on self-regulatory strategy use, persistent intention, and achievement in an online Science gifted program. The sample included 434 middle and high school students who participated in the 3-months online gifted program. Participants volunteerly surveyed on their perceptions of classroom (appeal, challenge, choice, meaningfulness, academic self-efficacy), self-regulatory strategy use, and persistent intention. Student achievement data was collected from online learning system. Multiple Regression was conducted to analyze the effect of students'perceptions of classroom on various dependent variables. The results of this study showed that (1) students use of rehearsal strategy was positively related to academic self-efficacy among the sub-variables of students'perceptions of classroom and the use of rehearsal strategy was negatively related to challenge; (2) the use of elaboration strategy was positively related to challenge and meaningfulness; (3) the use of time management strategy was positively related to academic self-efficacy and the use of resource management strategy was positively related to challenge; and (4) students' persistent intention was related to appeal, challenge and meaningfulness, achievement was related to challenge.
The purpose of this study aimed to find the effect of self-esteem and communication competence on clinical practice stress of the Korean nursing students. A total of 198 nursing students participated in this study. Data collection was conducted through the use of questionnaires constructed to include the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, Global Interpersonal Communication Competence, and the Clinical Competence Scale. As a result, self-esteem, communication competence, and clinical practice stress of the Korean nursing students were found to be(Self-esteem: $3.4{\pm}0.57$; Communication competence: $3.5{\pm}0.42$; Clinical practice stress: $3.6{\pm}0.58$). Also, the nursing students with female(85.4%), experience of simulation on clinical training(72.2%) were found to have significantly higher clinical practice stress. Moreover, there were significant correlations between self-esteem and undesirable role model(r=.156, p=.029), communication competence and clinical practice stress(r=-.329, p<.001). The factors affecting clinical practice stress were communication competence, gender, satisfaction of clinical practice, and experience of simulation on clinical training. They amounted to 27.8% in clinical practice stress. The results indicate a need to develop effective teaching methods and learning strategies to decrease clinical practice stress of the nursing students.

Recently, the emphasis on self-directed learning and lifelong education is increasing the importance of school libraries in the curriculum. Accordingly, various studies have been conducted mainly from a structural, institutional and operational point of view. However, more research is necessary on the micro topics such as school library users' autonomous intrinsic motivations in the sense that school libraries play key roles in autonomy-based self-directed education. This study aims at finding out what types of school library use motivations are more important and the degree to which the use motivations affect the school library service quality based on the self-determination theory. In addition, this study examines how the use motivations and the perceived service quality vary depending on the school grade of the library users. Based on a focus-group-interview pilot study, a questionnaire survey was administered on the effects of school library motivations on perceived library service quality to 588 students from 5 high schools and 2 middle schools in Seoul. When the service quality and its components, service affect, information control, and library as place were set as dependent variables, in all these four cases, intrinsic motivations were more significant than extrinsic motivations. In addition, when middle school students and high school students were selected as separate analysis target groups, the results of both analyses show that the higher the intrinsic motivations were, the higher the perceived service quality was. The contribution of this study is that it applies the self-determination theory to school library service, measures the influence of motivation type based on the theoretical basis, and focuses on micro aspects to improve school library services.

The purpose of this study is to find specific practice methods of single parents self-help groups in community welfare centers. A participatory action research was conducted to achieve the purpose. Six social workers and three researchers participated in the study who shared the problem of lack of specific practice methods even though a self-help group was useful for self-reliance and empowerment of low-income single-parents. Various activities such as reading articles, analysis of each self-help group, case studies, and learning facilitation methods were conducted during 10 meetings. At the same time, peer supervision proceeded at each meeting. The progress of each group was shared, the application of practice methods and plans were discussed, and applying discussed methods to group practice and reviewing the process and outcomes of the practice were repeated in the peer supervison. As a result, the following positive changes appeared: First, the goals and vision of each group became clearer. Second, initiative of the members was promoted. Third, intimacy, mutual cooperation, the attatchment to the group were strengthened. A qualitative analysis was also conducted on the content discussed. As a result, 17 practice methods were derived in four themes such as initiative/ empowerment, cohesion, leadership, and destandardization. Practice issues concerning single parents self-help groups in community welfare centers were discussed based on the results.

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship among professional self-concept, moral sensitivity and elderly care performance nurses in geriatric hospitals, as well as to clarify factors that affect nurses' elderly care performance. Participants consisted of 153 nurses working in geriatric hospital in G Province were evaluated. Date were collected from September 15 to October 15, 2018 and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. The mean of professional self-concept was $2.87{\pm}0.35$ out of 4, that of moral sensitivity was $4.70{\pm}0.47$ out of 7 and that of elderly care performance $3.51{\pm}0.41$ out of 4. Elderly care performance was siginificantly positively correlated with professional self-concept (r=.48, p<.001) and moral sensitivity (r=.31, p<.001). Factors influencing elderly care performance were professional self-concept (${\beta}=.32$, p=.001), moral sensitivity (${\beta}=.18$, p=.021), educational experience of geriatric nursing (${\beta}=.17$, p=.029), which explained 31.6% of elderly care performance. The results of this study suggest that supporting systems should be arranged to provide various learning opportunities as a way to increase the professional self-concept of nurses with short career as well as intervention strategies may be necessary to make education of geriatric nursing obligatory.
This study examines the effect of goal orientation (GO) on employee' self-esteem and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). Also, this paper investigates the mediating effect of employee' self-esteem and the moderating effect of leader's ethical leadership. The results of this study targeted 1,656 employees working at company and public institution were as follows: First, we found that learning goal orientation (LGO) and performance prove goal orientation (PPGO) had a positive impact on employee' self-esteem. But performance avoid goal orientation (PAGO) was not directly related to self-esteem. Second, LGO and PPGO had a positive effect on employee' OCB. But PAGO was not related to OCB. Third, the mediating role of self-esteem in the relationship between GO variables (LGO, PPGO) and OCB was statistically significant. Finally, the interaction term of employee' GO (LGO, PPGO) and leader's ethical leadership was not related to OCB, whereas the positive link between PAGO and OCB was stronger when leader's ethical leadership was high. In particular, this study presented with implications for future research, limitations of this study.

In this study, in order to investigate the relationships between the self-efficacy, career maturity, and information subject achievement of information-specialized high school students according to information subject classes, their correlations were analyzed through a survey of 214 second and third year students enrolled in two information-specialized high schools in Seoul. The main results are as follows. First, in the analysis of differences in self-efficacy, career maturity, and information subject achievement according to demographic characteristics, there was no significant difference according to gender, grade, extracurricular or individual learning for information subjects. The more they recognized that their grades belonged to the upper group, the higher their sense of self-efficacy and information subject achievement were perceived, and the higher their career maturity. Second, the students' self-efficacy was analyzed to have a positive effect on their career maturity and information subject achievement. Finally, it was found that the students' career maturity had a positive effect on their information subject achievement. Based on the above results, we briefly present the development direction for the education system to improve students' self-efficacy, career maturity, and information subject achievement.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to propose and test a predictive model that could explain and predict the core competencies of nursing students. Methods: A survey using a structured questionnaire was conducted with 361 nursing students. The data was analyzed using SPSS Windows 21.0 and AMOS 21.0. Results: The elements that directly influence the core competencies of nursing students were satisfaction with their academic discipline (nursing) and critical thinking disposition in which the disposition toward critical thinking directly influenced their satisfaction with nursing as an academic discipline and clinical practice. Conversely, satisfaction with clinical practice indirectly influenced core competencies through critical thinking disposition. Conclusion: This result provides the basic data for a competence-based curriculum intent on strengthening the core competencies (communication, problem-solving, and self-directed learning) by improving satisfaction with both clinical practice with their major and disposition toward critical thinking on the part of nursing students.
