The Effect of Education Program for Security Personnel on Job Satisfaction (일반경비원 교육이 직무만족에 미치는 영향 - 시설경비원 신임 교육을 중심으로 -)

  • The effect of satisfaction through job performance competency on management performance is enormous, for private security industry depends upon human resources generally till quite recently and often makes contact with clients. Although high-quality personnel who were taught professional education are held in high repute in private security industry, the studies of job satisfaction and recruit education for private security guards are insufficient. Consequently, this investigation analyzes the effect of recruit education program on job satisfaction searchingly for incumbent facility guards. The effect of recruit education program for facility personnel on job satisfaction is as follows. First of all, the differences of personal characteristics, training characteristics, work environment, job satisfaction are inspected in accordance with sociodemographic characteristics. After then, there is a remarkable contrast. Secondly, the former from among of learning expectation and self efficacy as personal characteristics has a positive effect on job satisfaction statistically. Thirdly, educational facility and contents as training characteristics have a positive effect on job satisfaction statistically. Finally, work environment including supervisor's support and maintenance has a positive effect on job satisfaction statistically.

The Influence of Champion Leadership of R&D Project Leader on Project Viability and Team Efficacy (R&D 프로젝트 리더의 챔피언 리더십이 프로젝트 생존성 및 팀 효력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study draws on a sociopolitical perspective to investigate the possible impact of champion leadership by project leaders on project viability(resource supply and organizational support) and team members' team efficacy by analyzing the empirical data of 92 ongoing projects collected from 22 public and private R&D institutes in the electronics, telecommunication, machinery, and chemical industries. Results revealed that higher level of project championing by project leader tended to positively related to a high level of organizational support and resource supply. It was also found that teams members who experienced higher level of project championing by project leader tended to have higher team efficacy. Furthermore, project type and innovative climate moderate the champion leadership-project performance relationships. The results found in this study offer several theoretical and managerial implications. First, champion leadership by project leaders is quite helpful to get more moral support and legitimacy of the organization for the project, and thus for acquisition of more tangible and intangible resources required for successful implementation of the R&D project. Champion leadership by project leaders also impacts the morale and self-confidence of the team members. Project leaders gives a sense of purpose and meaning to project members by actively and enthusiastically promoting the project, and by expressing confidence in team members' capabilities to perform a given task. In addition, his or her soliciting assistance and additional resources can contribute the building the confidence of members that the project can be performed well. Second, the relationship between champion leadership and project performances is context-specific (i.e., project type and innovative climate). This study is one of the few to have tested the moderating effects between champion leadership and project performances with a empirical research design. This study extends the current knowledge on champion leadership in the innovation process by generalizing their importance in R&D projects to a new industrializing context, Korea, and further sheds light on the contingent relationship between champion leadership and project performances in the innovation process. Based on these findings, some areas for future research are discussed.

The Relationship between Metacognition, Learning Flow, and Problem-Solving Ability of Dental Hygiene Students

  • Background: This study aims to improve dental hygiene education by investigating the relationship between metacognition, learning flow, and problem-solving abilities in dental hygiene majors. Methods: A survey was conducted on 2nd to 4th-year students from dental hygiene programs, with 132 responses analyzed. Data analysis involved t-tests and ANOVA to examine the differences in metacognition, learning flow, and problem-solving abilities based on the general characteristics. Multiple regression analysis was employed to investigate the factors influencing the dependent variable, which is problem-solving abilities. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS. Results: First, when comparing metacognition, learning flow, and problem-solving abilities based on the general characteristics of the study participants, statistically significant differences were observed in common factors such as major satisfaction, subjective academic performance, GPA (grade point average), and reason for major choice (p<0.05). Second, it was found that there is a significant positive correlation between metacognition, learning flow, and problem-solving abilities in dental hygiene students (r≥0.79, p<0.05). In other words, higher levels of metacognition and learning flow were associated with better problem-solving abilities. Third, factors influencing problem-solving abilities were identified, with both metacognition and learning flow having a statistically significant positive impact. It was also noted that metacognition had a greater influence on problem-solving abilities compared to learning flow (adjusted R2=0.815, p<0.05). Conclusion: To enhance the core competency of problem-solving abilities, it is essential to improve metacognition and learning flow. To enhance metacognition and promote learning flow, strategies such as goal setting, utilizing effective learning methods, boosting self-efficacy, managing the learning environment, choosing activities that foster immersion, stress management, self-assessment and feedback integration, improving focus, and utilization a variety of learning experiences will be necessary.

A study on mediating effect of internal and external networks and creative efficacy in the relationship of individual entrepreneurship and organizational commitment (개인의 기업가정신과 조직몰입의 관계에서 대내·외 네트워크와 창의적 효능감의 매개효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study looks into individual entrepreneurship engaged in an enterprise; the effect of creative efficacy and internal and external networks on organizational commitment based on the previous studies. The hypothesis, the internal and external networks constructed in social context by individuals in the relationship between individual entrepreneurship and organizational commitment; and mediating effect through creative efficacy obtained by the previous experience can be in existence, is to be confirmed through an empirical study. The analysis data is collected from 244 of currently working employees via a survey. The determination of employee-oriented study is summarized as follows: first, the promotion of employee's individual entrepreneurship is significant as well as of the leader for the result of organizational commitment, because there are positive effects between the individual entrepreneurship and organizational commitment. Second, the internal and external networks owned by individuals affect one's own outcome as the internal and external networks of enterprise mediate the relationship between individual entrepreneurship and organizational commitment. Third, it is confirmed that the confidence in individual creativity is an essential factor as creative efficacy exhibits a mediating effect in relationship between individual entrepreneurship and organizational commitment. Particularly, it is verified that an enterprise is in need to expand education or programs not only for networks leading to an outcome but also for creativity improvement of affiliated individuals from the fact that creative efficacy, a hybridized concept of creativity and self-efficacy studied in the previous research, mediates the relationship between individual entrepreneurship and an outcome. In the conclusion, additional implications are offered; the thresholds and frameworks for the study are discussed.

The Effectiveness of Disaster-related Educational Interventions in South Korea: A Systematic Literature Review (국내 간호사와 간호대학생에게 적용한 재난교육 프로그램의 효과 분석: 체계적 문헌고찰 연구)

  • The research purpose outlined emphasizes the growing need for systematic and professional disaster education for nurses and nursing students, driven by the increasing occurrence of natural and large-scale social disasters. The study, a systematic literature review, analyzed the effects of educational interventions in disaster education targeting this demographic. The research method involved a literature search in major Korean databases using keywords related to disaster, education programs, and simulations. The findings highlighted that most programs utilized a combination of theoretical lectures, simulations, and debriefing methods, with intervention times ranging from less than 2 hours to between 40 and 56 hours. The primary outcomes measured were disaster nursing preparedness and performance abilities, with the programs showing positive effects on variables such as disaster nursing readiness, performance ability, attitude, knowledge, awareness, learning self-efficacy, practice satisfaction, and confidence in disaster nursing. The study suggests the importance of designing programs that offer participants realistic learning experiences through diverse intervention times and methods and emphasizes the need to verify the effectiveness of these programs.

  • Among food-service managers, a survey was conducted to grasp the their work-related education conditions and the demand for education program development. This study focuses on food-service managers in web-based training and analyzes the critical factors involved in their learning process in order to clarify the factors that lead to the maximization of training programs. The results of all this study process are as follows. First, the characteristics of web-based education including component of education factor, system factor, deepening learning factor have meaningful effect on commitment of the participants and education performance(except deepening learning factor to education performance). Second, the analysis that the characteristics of individuals including self-efficacy in learning, purpose-directivity factor have meaningful effects on commitment of the participants and education performance(except purpose-directivity factor to education performance). Third, commitment of the participants has meaningful effects on the education performance. Thus, it is advisable for education managers or operators to emphasize in foodservice organizations.

  • This study is preliminary founding start-ups of restaurant entrepreneurs to study the characteristics of management in order to provide useful information was studied. Survey period is from 2013 March 15 to August 31. Hypothesis Testing in accordance with results of this study are as follows. Second, the re-startups restaurant entrepreneurs than new startups restaurant entrepreneurs was founded after the founder of career-related customer complaints about food more active coping was, and re-startups restaurant entrepreneurs by the founder other than business founded by the founder of the food-related customer complaints more aggressively for coping, respectively. Third, restaurant entrepreneurs of the store operations management has integrity, words and actions match, such as the degree of belief in the promise of reliability and the possibility of failure, which means the degree of recognition and response efforts are having an impact deal. Fourth, restaurant of food service management services and after-sales service has impact on the founder of the self-efficacy and self-efficacy of pre-service features and reliability founder affecting. Fifth, the revenue of the restaurant for dealing with customer complaints management includes efforts are having an impact.   • Recently, there is a substantial interest in implementing Business Process Management System(BPMS) among enterprises with the purpose of business process innovation. BPMS redesigns and coordinates business processes in terms of both automated steps and human involvement in order to maximize the value of both involved people and systems. The reason why BPMS is getting attention from top managers is that it has the possibility to optimize the business processes by cycling the process of modeling, execution, monitoring, evaluation, and redesigning work processes. Thus, it has created high expectations about not only productivity improvement but also business process innovation. However. having an innovative nature, which is used for process innovation, BPMS implementation has great potential to stir up employee resistance. The analysis and the discussion about the prevention of the resistance against IS(Information Systems) is important because IS change the way people work and also alter the power structure within the organization, in general. The purpose of this study is to investigate factors that have an impact on the effective adoption of BPMS at the enterprise level. To find out these factors, this study considers two characteristics of BPMS: First. BPMS shares some characteristics with other enterprise-wide IS such as ERP. Second, it has special BPMS-specific characteristics. Due to the lack of previous research on BPMS adoption, interviews were carried out with IT-consultants and CIOs who conducted BPMS projects previously to find out BPMS-specific features that would make BPMS unique when compared to other enterprise-wide IS. As a result, the monitoring function was chosen as the main BPMS-specific factor. Thus, this paper reviewed studies both on enterprise-wide IS adoptions, which applied Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and secondly on computer based monitoring to find out factors that would influence the employees' perception on the monitoring function of BPMS. Based on the literature review, the study suggested three factors that would have an impact on the employee's perception of the monitoring function: fairness of enterprise evaluation system, fairness of the boss, and self-efficacy of their work. Three factors that would impact the enterprise-wide IS adoption were also set: the shared belief in the benefit of BPMS, training, and communication. Then, these factors were integrated with TAM. Structural equation modeling was used to test hypotheses, out factors that would impact the employees' perception on the monitoring function of BPMS. Based on the literature review the study suggested three factors that would have an impact on the employee's perception of the monitoring function: fairness of enterprise evaluation system, fairness of the boss, and self-efficacy of their work. Three factors that would impact the enterprise-wide IS adoption were also set: the shared belief in the benefit of BPMS, training, and communication. Then, these factors were integrated with TAM. Structural equation modeling was used to test hypotheses. The data analysis results showed that two among three monitoring function related factors - enterprise evaluation system and fairness of the boss - were significant. This implies that employees would worry less about the BPMS implementation as long as they perceive the monitoring results will be used fairly for their performance evaluation. However, employees' high self-efficacy on their job was not a significant factor in their perception of the usefulness of BPMS. This is related to cases that showed employees resisted against the information systems because they automated their works (Markus, 1983). One specific case was an electronic company, where the accounting department workers were requested to redefine their job because their working processes were automated due to BPMS implementation.

Training Program to Raise Consciousness Among Adolescents for Protection Against Skin Cancer through Performance of Skin Self Examination

  • Background: Overexposure to sunlight in childhood and the adolescent period and associsated sunburns significantly increase the risk of skin cancer in adulthood. In Turkey, the incidence of skin cancer in the general population is 0.8%. The incidence is 0.6% and the mortality rate is 0.4% for men, while these rates are 1.0% and 0.7%, respectively, for women. If skin cancer is found early, its treatment is facilitated. Therefore, personal skin examination is important for early diagnosis. Objectives: Our aim was to determine the effects of training for raising consciousness among adolescents to protect against skin cancer by influencing skin self examination behavior. Method: This quasi experimental intervention study was conducted between February and April 2012 in Izmir. The study population consisted of students attending $6^{th}$, $7^{th}$ and $8^{th}$ classes of a primary school (n:302). No sampling was performed. Data were collected with a form developed by the researchers based on the literature. The first part of form is aimed to determine demographic characteristics of adolescents (3 questions) and their risk status of skin cancer (6 questions). The second part was prepared for skin cancer risks of adolescents (8 questions) and indications of skin cancer (12 questions). The last part was intended to determine their knowledge about skin self examination (4 questions) and behavioral stages of skin self examination (1 question). Data collection was achieved with a questionnaire form in three phases. In the 1st phase, data about demographic characteristics of students, risk status of skin cancer, knowledge level of skin cancer and behavior stages were collected. In the $2^{nd}$ phase, skin self examination training based on the transtheoretical model was performed within the same day just after obtaining preliminary data. In the $3^{rd}$ phase, adolescents were followed up three times to establish the efficacy of the training (on the $15^{th}$ day after training program and at end of the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ months). Follow-up data were evaluated by questioning skin self examination performing behavior stages through electronic mail. Results: Half of the adolescents (50.5%) are male, and 58.4% of them are 13 years old with a mean age of $12{\pm}1.15$ years. About 29.4% of adolescents had brown hair color, 37.9% had brown/hazel eye color, 29.4% had white skin, and 47.2% had fewer than 10 moles in their body. The pretest mean score on knowledge level about risks of skin cancer was found to be $4.19{\pm}1.96$, while the post-test mean score was $6.79{\pm}1.67$ (min:0, max:8).The pretest mean score about indications of skin cancer was $7.45{\pm}3.76$, while the post-test mean score was $10.7{\pm}2.60$ (min:0, max:12). The increases were statistically significant (p<0.05). The behavior "I do not perform skin self examination regularly in every month and I do not think to perform it in the next 6 months" was reduced from 52.8 to 35.5% after training. Conclusion: The training program organized to raise consciousness among adolescents for protection against skin cancer increased the knowledge level about risks and indications of skin cancer and it also improved the behavior of performing skin self examination.

A Review of Neurofeedback Studies (뉴로피드백의 최신 연구 동향)

  • Background: Neurofeedback is an electroencephalographic biofeedback technique for training individuals to alter their brain activity via operant conditioning. Also neurofeedback is a form of behavioural training aimed at developing skills for brain activity. Within the past decade, several neurofeedback studies have been published that tend to overcome the methodological shortcomings of earlier studies. This research describes the methodical basis of neurofeedback and reviews the evidence base for its clinical efficacy and effectiveness in attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Methods: In neurofeedback training, self-regulation of specific aspects of electrical brain activity is acquired by means of immediate feedback and positive reinforcement. In frequency training, activity in different EEG frequency bands has to be decreased or increased. Slow cortical potentials (SCPs) training is focused on the regulation of cortical excitability. Results: Neurofeedback studies revealed training-specific effects on, for example, attention and memory processes and performance improvements in real-life conditions, in healthy subjects as well as in patients. In several studies it was shown that ADHD symptomatology was reduced after frequency training or SCP(Slow cortical potentials) training. Moreover a decrease of impulsivity errors and an increase of the contingent negative variation. Conclusions: This research provides evidence for both positive behavioural and specific neurophysiological effects of neurofeedback training. Also there is growing evidence for neurofeedback as a valuable module in neuropsychiatric disorders. Further, controlled studies are warranted.
