This study is to adjust the Theory in the Mathematics Education, apply it to learning mathematics and to analyse its effectiveness. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, because learning mathematics is hierarchical, teachers must make and use a task analysis table classified by units. Second, development age and the retention of mathematics concepts are intimately associated with cognitive development theory. Third, learning mathematics through cognitive processes enhances a student's scholastic achievement. Fourth, students interests and self-confidence can be enhanced through the presentation of both examples and non-examples. We cannot understand the higher-order concepts of mathematics by only its definitions. The only way of understanding such concepts is to have experience through suitable examples.

Gallium Oxide (Ga2O3) has been widely investigated for the optoelectronic applications due to its wide bandgap and the optical transparency. Recently, with the development of fabrication techniques in nanometer scale semiconductor materials, there have been an increasing number of extensive reports on the synthesis and characterization of Ga2O3 nano-structures such as nano-wires, nanobelts, and nano-dots. In contrast to typical vaporliquid-solid growth mode with metal catalysts to synthesis 1-dimensional nano-wires, there are several difficulties in fabricating the nanostructures by using sputtering techniques. This is attributed to the fact that relatively low growth temperatures and higher growth rate compared with chemical vapor deposition method. In this study, Ga2O3 chestnut burr were synthesized by using radio-frequency magnetron sputtering method. In contrast to typical sputtering method with sintered ceramic target, a Ga2O3 powder (99.99% purity) was used as a sputtering target. Several samples were prepared with varying the growth parameters, especially he growth time and the growth temperature to investigate the growth mechanism. Samples were characterized by using XRD, SEM, and PL measurements. In this presentation, the details of fabrication process and physical properties of Ga2O3 nano chestnut burr will be reported.
Background: Problem-based learning (PBL) has introduced as an important part of pharmacy education in Korea as it is effective method to help students gain and apply knowledge with development of problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills. In order to provide the effective PBL, a number of trained facilitators and suitable PBL rooms are required. However, these become a barrier in Korea as most pharmacy schools have one or two faculty members who majored in clinical pharmacy. Objective: This study was performed to implement and evaluate a modified PBL in gastrointestinal (GI) pharmacotherapy class facilitated by one instructor. Methods: A general information of traditional PBL for 6 hours through 3 days is introduced before initiating GI pharmacotherapy class. After 3 hour-GI pharmacotherapy classes for 6 weeks, modified PBL was implemented with one instructor to facilitate PBL for four small groups with 19 pharmacy students simultaneously. Modified PBL was incorporated with weekly mini-case discussion and presentation. Results: Students completed 15-question survey to evaluate modified PBL course, student performance, group performance, and facilitator performance. Eighty-four percent of students answered modified PBL was helpful to understand what they have learned. Mean score in group performance was higher than that of individual performance during modified PBL course. Overall, students reported modified PBL was useful in knowledge building. Conclusion: Modified PBL model without individual group facilitators in one classroom helped students to achieve self-directed, independent learning skills in an interactive and engaging environment.
Objective : It is a presentation of theoretical, clinical. historical foundation about using biofeedback in oriental medicine. Methods : We generalize definition, explanation, history and clinical application of biofeedback and study community with and clinical practice in oriental medical theory, referring to The neurofeedback book-An introduction to Basic Concepts in Applied Psychophysiology published by Michacl Thompson & Lynda Thompson Results : We acquire possibilities of application in oriental medicine as follows. 1. It is a view of treatment for the whole man not separating body and mind. 2. It make much of yin-ping-yang-bi(陰平陽秘) and spontaneous cure in the human body. 3. It make much of a curer's mental condition through dao(道). 4. It make much of a breathing corresponding to nature. 5. We make use of it in diagnosis and evaluation of disease. 6. It is psychologic treatment of self-leading. Conclusions : Biofeedback is expected that usefully applied to oriental psychotherapy of Kyungja-pyungji therapy(驚者平之療法). Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung therapy(五志相勝療法), Qigong therapy(氣功療法), Autogenic relaxation Training(自律弛緩療法) basing on oriental medical theory not separating body and mind.
The purpose of this study is to first examine the relationship between appearance-enhancing beauty practices and feminism, and secondly, to analyze public images of contemporary women using this paradigm. Through the lens of this relationship, we present a literature review and empirical research focusing on the evolution of public image trends among girl groups, with special attention to the Refund Sisters, a South Korean supergroup currently drawing mainstream attention as female icons. The scope of analysis includes girl groups dating from the 1990's to the year 2020 and photos of the Refund Sisters. Our results indicate that firstly, free sexual expression is evident based on active use of sexuality; images contain bold demonstrations of females desire, expressions previously considered taboo. Secondly, we note deviations from more standardized female images, unique adornment of outward appearance, and rejection of normative female images through freer forms of self-presentation. Lastly, there is greater cultural and racial diversity, rejection of modern race and gender binaries, and increased representation of queer identities. However, the relationship between appearance-enhancing beauty practices and feminism is sometimes considered paradoxical, with some arguing that beautifying one's outward appearance is a compulsory strategy and that it should be rejected in order to resist aesthetic pressure.
Global fashion houses have recently incorporated traditional Korean motifs within their inspiration. This trend is an opportunity to showcase the colors of traditional Korean culture by investing in the new design content. Products specifically based on traditional Korean culture are lacking in brand awareness despite the success of Korean content. Accordingly, this study designs cultural products based on Korean folk painting that captures Korean people's satirical sense of humor. Korean folk painting theories are analyzed, from which different types of folk paintings are classified based on research of bibliographies and online documents. Following classification, the results are dataized as different types of folk paintings and their meanings. Furthermore, images of folk paintings are categorized and scanned digitally. The digitized images of the folk paintings are processed through Adobe Photoshop CS for overall layout and Adobe Illustrator CS for detailed designs. Traditional categories of Korean folk paintings are used, including flowers and birds, letters, and study stationery. Using the main elements of the flower and birds category, designs with cultural products such as images of flowers, birds, animals, and fish are produced. The final designs are used to create fashion items that can easily be used for embellishment or self-presentation: a scarf and a necktie. The scarf and the necktie are not only merchandise; they also symbolize the story, humor, and hope that Korean folk paintings once symbolized.
Purpose: Curricula for surgical residents should include training in trauma care; however, such training is absent in many low income countries. At the largest surgical training institution in Ethiopia, a trauma training program was developed, integrated into the existing surgical curriculum, and implemented. This study was conducted to evaluate the trainees' response to the new program. Methods: Over a 5-month period, 35 first-year surgical residents participated in weekly trauma care training sessions. The program included journal clubs, practical sessions, didactic sessions, and case-based discussions. Six months after the conclusion of the training, changes in knowledge, attitude, and practices were evaluated through a self-report survey. Results: For knowledge-based items, the survey data revealed reported improvements in 83.8% to 96.8% of students. Furthermore, 90.3% to 93.5% of participants indicated improvements in practice, while 96.7% exhibited a change in attitude. Respondents reported that attending didactic courses improved their presentation skills and facilitated the acquisition of knowledge. They suggested the inclusion of additional practical sessions. Conclusions: Training structures that are simple to implement are crucial for residency programs with limited resources. Such programs can be developed using existing academic staff and can aid residents in delivering improved care to trauma patients.
Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Iranian women and usually features delayed presentation and late diagnosis. Interpretation of symptoms, as the most important step, has a significant impact on patient delay in seeking treatment. There is a dearth of studies on symptom appraisal and the process leading to seeking help in breast cancer patients. This study explored the perceptions and experiences of Iranian women with self-detected possible breast cancer symptoms. Materials and Methods: A qualitative method was conducted involving in-depth semi-structured interviews with 27 Iranian women with self-discovered breast cancer symptoms. Participants were purposefully selected from women who attended Cancer Institute of Tehran University of Medical Sciences during June 2012 to August 2013. The audiotaped interviews were transcribed and analyzed using conventional content analysis with MAXQDA soft ware version 10. The trustworthiness of the study was verified by prolonged engagement, member validation of codes, and thick description. Results: The main concepts emerging from data analysis were categorized in four categories: symptom recognition, labeling of symptoms, interactive understanding, and confronting the fear of cancer. Symptom recognition through breast self-examination, symptom monitoring and employing prior knowledge distinguished normal from abnormal symptoms and accompanied with perception of being at risk of breast cancer led to symptom labeling. Social interaction by selective disclosure and receiving reassurance from a consultant led to confirmation or redefinition of the situation. Perceived seriousness of the situation and social meanings of breast cancer as a stigmatized and incurable illness associated with loss of femininity were reasons for patient worries and fear. Conclusions: This study emphasized that entangled cognitive, emotional and socio-cultural responses affecting understanding of symptom seriousness require further investigation. It is suggested that programs aimed at shortening patient delay in breast cancer should be focused on improving women's knowledge and self-awareness of breast cancer, in addition to correcting their social beliefs.
Under the pressure of the selection of topics and the presentation rules of mass media, politics in media society increasingly resort to professionalized forms of theatrical staging as a means of self-portrayal. Although these staging methods are not contradictory to what is actually going on in politics, they strongly advantage the tendency to focus exclusively on the staging of an event. Through their competition for public attention, politicians have been developing sophistication regarding placement and staging of events as well as regarding factual information. In the process of this transformation, politics that are issue-related and based on binding decisions are being gradually transformed into symbolic politics. Moreover, through their appearance on TV, politicians first of all need to possess presentational skills which are not necessarily related to their political achievements. Still, presentational skills decide over the success in politics of those politicians. The reason is that a politician who possesses presentational skills is still being perceived as being successful even if his political achievements notedly lag behind. On the other hand, political achievements are being underrated if a politician lacks the talent to present himself in front of the media. “The staging of politics, “politainment”, on the stage of mass media is evolving into a key structure which is responsible for a new coinage of politics in all different kinds of dimensions: the selection of staff, the role of action programs and their impact for the legitimation of political acting, even in relation to therole of pivotal political institutions such as parties and parliaments in the political process. The TV debates during the Bundestag elections of the year 2002 and 2005 are being analyzed and judged as “staging of politics”(politainment). Self-dramatization in media society concerning media discourses about politics and political self-portrayal has become a basic principle of political communication. Self-dramatization is a vital challenge for adequate political communication and content-based orientation in our present media democracies.
This paper presents an internet-based self-learning educational system which can be enhancing efficiency in the learning process of Java language. The proposed self-learning educational system is called Java Web Player(JWP), which is a Java application program and is executable through Java Web Start technologies. Also, three important sequential learning processes : concept learning process, programming practice process and assessment process are integrated in the proposed JWP using Java Web Start technologies. This JWP enables the learners to achieve efficient and interesting self-learning since the learning process is designed to enhance the multimedia capabilities on the basis of various educational technologies. Furthermore, internet-based on-line voice presentation and its related texts together with moving images are synchronized for efficient language learning process. Also, a simple and useful Java compiler is included in the JWP for providing language practice environment such as coding, editing, executing and debugging Java source files. Finally, repeated practice can make the learners to understand easily the key concepts of Java language. Simple multiple choices are given suddenly to the learners while they are studying through the JWP and the test results are displayed on the message box. This assessment process is very essential to increase the learner's academic capability.
