This research studied the social-emotional competence of children whose primary caregiver was a single-mother or single-father alone compared with children living with a single-parent but the primary caregiver was a non-parent (e.g. a grandparent). Subjects were 208 children (105 boys, 103 girls) from 10 elementary schools in 3 metropolitan cities. Instruments were the Adaptive Behavior Checklist constructed by the researcher, Self-esteem Inventory (Kim, 1987) and Emotional Competence Scale (Kim, 1998). Results showed that children in single-mother families were more social-emotionally competent than children in single-father families. Children whose primary caregivers were non-parents had higher self-esteem than children whose primary caregivers were single parents alone. There were interaction effects of caregiver variables on children's peer relationships and awareness/expression of their own emotion.

This paper presents an integrated procedure to predict the temperature and moisture distributions in hardening concrete considering the effects of temperature and aging. The degree of hydration is employed as a fundamental parameter to evaluate hydro-thermal-mechanical properties of hardening concrete. The temperature history and temperature distribution in hardening concrete is evaluated by combining cement hydration model with three-dimensional finite element thermal analysis. On the other hand, the influences of both self-desiccation and moisture diffusion on variation of relative humidity are considered. The self-desiccation is evaluated by using a semi-empirical expression with desorption isotherm and degree of hydration. The moisture diffusivity is expressed as a function of degree of hydration and current relative humidity. The proposed procedure is verified with experimental results and can be used to evaluate the early-age crack of hardening concrete.

The program implemented in this study consisted of 4 parts : positive self perception, understanding and expression of emotion, communication skills, and interpersonal problem solving competence. Implementation took place once a week In 12 60-90 minutes sessions. The subjects were 33 11- to 13-year old children residing in 2 institutions similar to each other. The experimental group consisted of 11 boys and 7 girls and control group of 7 boys and 8 girls, respectively. Implementation was bracketed by pre- and post-tests. After the 12 weeks intervention program, there were significant differences between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group improved in social and communication skills. Both the experimental and control group didn't improve in self-esteem.

This study aims at applying the body image, self-image and costume image, which is completed as harmony of hairstyle according to 14 occupational types to be help at in time of image creation. It made a survey of 5,658 women living in Seoul. The result of response showed that a sandglass type and rectangular type is highest in a form suited to the body image for educational employees, public officials, business employees, service workers, office workers, financial employees, university students who are majoring in beauty), beauty artists and entertainers, and for police officers, housewives, medical service workers, university students who aren't majoring in beauty, respectively, which there is the difference by occupational group. But there is no difference from a point of view that many women of our country are much alike in a form.

This study analyzes the values of vintage in Korean fashion prosumer's activities and elevates the values as one characteristic of Korean modern fashion. The methodology included literary and empirical studies as well as prosumer and modern Korean vintage fashion literary studies. In-depth interviews were done to analyze the values of vintage in fashion prosumer's activities. The values of vintage fashion for Millennials are creative activities based on public interest, expanded reproducing through sharing daily looks and self-expression through the scarcity of vintage clothing. Prosumer characteristics are self-satisfaction and sharing. Fashion prosumer's vintage trends are new-tro, communication, cultural complex, and sharing of daily life. The formativeness in fashion prosumer's activities are heritage, text, activity and image. The meanings are creation, communication, experience and sharing. Fashion prosumers are developing the new genre of 'vintage fashion activity'; in addition, values towards vintage fashion activity are also drawing international interest.

Lymphocystis is a viral disease of fish primarily in marine and brackishwaters. Here we report the cloning, expression, and the serological applications of the lymphocystis disease virus (LCDV) major capsid protein (MCP). The MCP gene was amplified by PCR from the genomic DNA of LCDV isolated from Schlegel's black rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli, and expressed in E. coli. Mouse antisera raised against the purified recombinant MCP (rMCP) reacted with the viral MCP in an immunofluorescence assay, indicating that this rMCP would be useful for serological studies of field samples.

This study introduces the process and results of developing an adaptive math learning program for self-directed learning. It presented the process and results of developing an adaptive math learning program that takes into account the level of learners using artificial intelligence. We wanted to get some suggestions on developing programs for artificial intelligence-based mathematics. The program was developed as Math4U, an application based on smart devices in the "character and expression" area for 7th grade. The Application Math4U may be used differently depending on its purpose. It is also expected to be a useful tool for providing self-directed learning to students as the basis for educational research using smart devices in a changing educational environment.

Many studies require expression analysis of the same gene/promoter across a range of bacterial genera. However, there is currently a lack of availability of reporters based on the broad-host-range IncQ replicon, which is compatible with a popular improved IncP transfer system that is self-transfer defective. We report IncQ lacZ reporter plasmids with features including (1) compatibility with IncP, IncW, and pBHR/pBBR replicons, (2) a variety of antibiotic markers (Sp-r, Sm-r, Km-r, Cm-r), (3) convenient mobilization via a novel self-transfer-defective IncP conjugation system, and (4) GenBank DNA sequences. Utility is demonstrated using three different promoters in different Gram-negative genera.

Objective : There is an increasing number of people are not satisfied with their appearance and shape. Therefore, assessment tools are needed to evaluate the appearance or body shape. This study investigated the reliability and validity of a Korean version of the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ). Methods : Participants completed the BSQ, Body Dysmorphic Disorder Examination-Self Report, Eating Disorder Inventory-2, Beck Depression Inventory, Self-Esteem Scale, State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory, and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Results : The Korean version of BSQ presented satisfactory test-retest reliability, internal consistency and validity. Exploratory factor analysis yielded four factors as follow: feeling fat, shame and inferiority about one's body shape, attitudes concerning body image perception, and purging behavior. Conclusion : These results show the Korean BSQ exhibits good psychometric properties and can accurately evaluate the body shape concerns among Korean adults.

본 연구는 비비안 마이어의의 셀프포트레이트 창작 방식에 대해 탐구했다. 비비안 마이어는 셀프포트레이트 촬영을 통해 자신의 모습을 사진의 피사체로 적극적으로 활용했다. 특히 거울이나 유리 등에 비친 자신의 모습을 정방향의 프레임인 롤라이플렉스 카메라로 촬영함으로써 내면적 자아의 모습을 정직하게 담아내고 있다. 또한, 주변 배경에 대한 자신의 정서가 반영됨으로써 그 시대의 생활상이 상징적으로 나타나고 있다.
