Voltage-sensitive ion channels contribute to establishment of the cell excitablity and the generation of the cellular function. At hamster oocytes in the primitive stage during developing process, an inward current elicited by voltage pulses was found to be carried mainly by $Ca^{2+}$. Even at present, $Ca^{2+}$ channels serve as the most probable route to pass this inward current but there is no evidence of the presence of this channels in eggs. To date, both the characteristic properties and the physiological role in the early stage of development remain unclear. Here we examined the characteristic properties of the inward current and changes in this currents at unfertilized oocytes, fertilized zygotes and two-cell embryos using whole-cell voltage clamp technique. The inward current carried reportedly by $Ca^{2+}$ was remained following removing external $Ca^{2+}$ but completely abolished by further replacement of impermeants such as tetramethylammonium ion ($TMA^+$) or $choline^+$ instead of $[Na^+]_0$. Tetrodotoxin did not affect on this inward current remained at $[Ca^{2+}]_0$-free condition. Removal of $Na^+$ ion out of the experimental solution clearly decreased the current. After adding 2mM $Ca^{2+}$ to the $Na^+$-free media, the inward current was restored. Interestingly, this current carried by either $Ca^{2+}$ or $Na^+$ was decreased by the reduction of intracellular $Cl^-$ concentration, or by $Cl^-$ channel blockers such as niflumic acid, DIDS and SITS. When $Cl^-$ concentration was lowered without changes in other ionic components, this inward current was reduced. At fertilized oocytes and two-cell embryos, the inward current carried by $Ca^{2+}$ and $Na^+$ was severely reduced. Also $Cl^-$ component could not be observed. From these results, the inward current is composed of $Ca^{2+}$, $Na^+$ and $Cl^-$ component, suggesting that the channel carrying this inward current is not selective specifically to $Ca^{2+}$. During early stage of development, the voltage-sensitive ion current seems not to contribute essentially to the cell cleavage and differentiation. The loss of $Cl^-$ component after fertilization suggests that $Cl^-$ may play a role in maintaining the viability of unfertilized ova.

Class I malocclusion without skeletal problem results from tooth size/arch-size discrepancies, either evidenced by crowding, or spacing problems. Treatment method can be chosen according to dentition, the amount of arch discrepancy, patient compliance, or patient demands. We report of clear aligner and spring aligner that can be applicated in cases of permanent dentition with minimal arch discrepancy in anterior segment. There are some limits of application, but these are very useful appliances in the selective case. When crowding exists, definitive analysis and diagnosis should be made before starting treatment because certain amount of space must be obtained somewhere in the dentition to resolve the crowding. Therefore, appliance should be applied when lacking space is small. Also, in cases with spacing arch circumference is reduced after alignment so no problem in intermaxilla occlusal relationship must be confirmed. In case with crowding, judicious removal of interproximal enamel is indicated.

This study was performed to evaluate the toothbrush abrasion characteristics of seven commercially available light-cured cervical restorative materials one resin-modified glass-ionomer material(Fuji II LC) three polyacid-modified composites(Compoglass, Dyract, F2000), and three light-cured composites(Heliomolar, Palpique Estelite, UniFil F). All samples were stored in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ for 10 days. 2.0N of weight was loaded during the test and the abraded surfaces were examined with profilometer and SEM after 100,000 cycles. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The highest hardness value of 79.7 was observed in the FT group and the lowest value of 20.0 was observed in the HM group. Results of Tukey test showed that an overall significant difference was indicated except the CG and DR groups(p<0.05). 2. The highest surface roughness was observed in the FL group and the lowest was observed in the UF group. Results of Tukey test showed the significant difference between the FL or FT and UF groups(p<0.05). 3. Statistically higher abrasion and surface roughness were observed for the dentifrice of paste type, Perio A+, than for that of gel paste type, Tom & Jerry. 4. The surface roughness values increased on the abraded surfaces because of the protrusion of filler particles due to selective removal of matrix resin.
Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) have advantages to reduce the processing time and mineralize contaminants dissolved in groundwater. Recently, remediation techniques for organic contamination in groundwater have been studied, and technology using $UV/H_2O_2$ is generally accepted as one of the most powerful and reliable alternative for the remediation of groundwater contamination. In this study, $UV/H_2O_2$ technology, which generates hydroxyl radical ($\cdot$ OH) as known for strong non-selective oxidant, was used to degrade chlorinated solvents (TCE and PCE), and it was expanded to apply continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) system (i.e. combinations of three CSTR). The tested parameters for CSTR system were retention time and groundwater/$H_2O_2$ injection volume ratio. To find optimum parameters for CSTR system, various retention time (6 min ~ 90 min) and groundwater/$H_2O_2$ injection volume ratio (5/1 ~ 119/1) were tested. Other conditions for CSTR were adapted from the batch test results, which concentration of $H_2O_2$ and UV dose were 29.4 mM (0.1%) and 4.3 kWh/L, respectively. Based on the experimental results, the optimum parameters for CSTR system were 20 min for retention time and 119/1 for groundwater/$H_2O_2$ injection volume ratio. Applying these optimum conditions, chlorinated solvents (TCE and PCE) were removed at 99.9% and 99.6%. Moreover, the effluent concentrations of TCE and PCE are 0.036 mg/L and 0.087 mg/L, respectively, which are satisfied the regulatory level (TCE 0.3 mg/L, PCE 0.1 mg/L). Consequently, the CSTR system using $UV/H_2O_2$ technology can achieve high removal efficiency in the event of treatment of groundwater contaminated by chlorinated solvents (TCE and PCE).
Purpose: To describe the impingement of the osteophyte between the olecranon process and olecranon fossa and to understand the effect of removing the lesion on the elbow extension in heavy workers. Materials and Methods: Arthroscopy was performed to elbow of heavy industrial workers who complained painful limitation of elbow extension.6 patients(Teases) with average age of 43 year were selected. The average ROM showed flexion contracture of $17^{\circ}$ and further flexion of $87^{\circ}$. Results: In all cases, after the operation two months follow up, mean flexion contracture improved from $17^{\circ}\;to\;2^{\circ}$ with further flexion from$87^{\circ}\;to\;122^{\circ}$. After the operation 1 year follow up, the mean flexion contracture was $3^{\circ}$ and further flexion was $113^{\circ}$. Pain relief within acquired range of motion was achieved in all cases and there was no complication in this series. Conclusion: Selective removal of the impingement bony spur for treatment of flexion contracture in the patient with chronic cumulative trauma disorder patients appear to be effective method to control pain, recover joint movement and at] ow early rehabilitation.

Diesel vehicles should be equipped with urea-selective catalytic reduction(SCR) system as a high-performance catalyst, in order to reduce harmful nitrogen oxide emissions. In this study, a three-dimensional Eulerian-Lagrangian CFD analysis was used to numerically predict the multiphase flow characteristics of the urea-SCR system, coupled with the chemical reactions of the system's transport phenomena. Then, the numerical spray structure was modified by comparing the results with the measured values from spray visualization, such as the injection velocity, penentration length, spray radius, and sauter mean diameter. In addition, the analysis results were verified by comparison with the removal efficiency of the nitrogen oxide emissions during engine and chassis tests, resulting in accuracy of the relative error of less than 5%. Finally, a verified CFD analysis was used to calculate the interanl flow of the urea-SCR system, thereby analyzing the characteristics of pressure drop and velocity increase, and predicting the uniformity index and overdistribution positions of ammonia.

According to the developing advanced techniques and removal of Selective Availability, much research has been conducted to improve the accuracy of GPS positioning in absolute and relative mode by estimating the nuisance parameters such as atmospheric effect, clock errors and multipath. Especially, the continuous effort of establishing the CORS in many countries and the effort of ICS making effective global networking make more application areas and the necessity of more precise location is being increased. Some of the countries like German, Japan and Swiss already utilized the Virtual Reference System for better location accuracy and services. In this study, the VRS system is investigated in terms of system principle, required H/W and S/W, management and operation, revision of related law, expected application and market etc. and find optimal solution in each aspect for economic and fast set up of the system in this country. The analysis of Korean CORS, communication infra and market estimation is performed for the efficient system establishment. Also. the suggestion on the advertisement and education of the system is also included. It is expected that this study contributes for the establishment of effective and precise nationwide location service so that many SOC areas including navigation, GIS, Telematics, LBS can provides better service for the users.
The paper includes utlization of zeolite as potential adsorbent to remove a hazardous malachite green from waste water. The adsorption studies were carried out at 298, 308 and 318 K and effects of temperature, contact time, initial concentration on the adsorption were measured. On the basis of adsorption data Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm model were also confirmed. The equilibrium process was described well by Freundlich isotherm model, showing a selective adsorption by irregular energy of zeolite surface. From determined isotherm constants, zeolite could be employed as effective treatment for removal of malachite green. From kinetic experiments, the adsorption process followed the pseudo second order model, and the adsorption rate constant ($k_2$) decreased with increasing initial concentration of malachite green. Thermodynamic parameters like activation energy, change of free energy, enthalpy, and entropy were also calculated to predict the nature adsorption. The activation energy calculated from Arrhenius equation indicated that the adsorption of malachite green on the zeolite was physical process. The negative free energy change (${\Delta}G^{\circ}$ =-6.47~-9.07 kJ/mol) and the positive enthalpy change (${\Delta}H^{\circ}$ = +32.414 kJ/mol) indicated the spontaneous and endothermic nature of the adsorption in the temperature range 298~318 K.
In this paper, a mesh simplification algorithm based on wavelet transform and 2D planar sampling is proposed for efficient handling of 3D objects in computer applications. Since 3D vertices are directly transformed with wavelets in conventional mesh compression and simplification algorithms, it is difficult to solve tiling optimization problems which reconnect vertices into faces in the synthesis stage highly demanding vertex connectivities. However, a 3D mesh is sampled onto 2D planes and 2D polygons on the planes are independently simplified in the proposed algorithm. Accordingly, the transform of 2D polygons is very tractable and their connection information Is replaced with a sequence of vertices. The vertex sequence of the 2D polygons on each plane is analyzed with wavelets and the transformed data are simplified by removing small wavelet coefficients which are not dominant in the subjective quality of its shape. Therefore, the proposed algorithm is able to change the mesh level-of-detail simply by controlling the distance of 2D sampling planes and the selective removal of wavelet coefficients. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is a simple and efficient simplification technique with less external distortion.
In this study, we determine the optimal process conditions for selectively recovering Si from a solar cell surface by removal of impurities (Al, Zn, Ag, etc.). To selectively recover Si from solar cells, leaching is performed using HCl solution and an ultrasonic cleaner. After leaching, the solar cells are washed using distilled water and dried in an oven. Decompression filtration is performed on the HCl solution, and ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission spectroscopy) full scan analysis is performed on the filtered solution. Furthermore, XRD (X-ray powder diffraction), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), and ICP-OES are performed on the dried solar cells after crushing, and the purity and recovery rate of Si are obtained. In this experiment, the concentration of acid solution, reaction temperature, reaction time, and ultrasonic intensity are considered as variables. The results show that the optimal process conditions for the selective recovery of Si from the solar cells are as follows: the concentration of acid solution = 3 M HCl, reaction temperature = 60℃, reaction time = 120 min, and ultrasonic intensity = 150 W. Further, the Si purity and recovery rate are 99.85 and 99.24%, respectively.
