In this study we examined the method to select the size of the conductor rail for light rail system. Study results shows that using the conductor rail with lower resistivity requires fewer power substation, which results in lower construction cost. It also produces less copper loss. Therefore first choose the conductor rail with lowest resistivity and select the substation location, Next conduct computer simulation study to confirm it meets voltage requirement. if the minimum voltage is well above the required minimum voltage, substation number can probably be further reduced.

The recent broadcasting environment has shifted to embrace multimedia and multi-channel features through terrestrial, satellite and cable media. This has multiplied the number of broadcasting programs. With the information on a myriad of programs provided to TV viewers, information overload occurs, and thus, the TV viewing environment is shifting to one where viewers cannot select programs passively. Thus, a growing need is emerging to ensure a personalized electronic program guide (EPG) to help individuals select TV programs according to their taste. This paper presents a personalized EPG that enables a purpose-oriented broadcasting service to provide personalized broadcasting programs in tune with the user's requirements and preferences.

The purpose of this study is prove the effectiveness of an energy subtraction image for the detection of pulmonary nodules and the effectiveness of multi-resolutional filter on an energy subtraction image to detect pulmonary nodules. Also we study influential factors to the accuracy of detection of pulmonary nodules from viewpoints of types of images, types of digital filters and types of evaluation methods. As one type of images, we select an energy subtraction image, which removes bones such as ribs from the conventional X-ray image by utilizing the difference of X-ray absorption ratios at different energy between bones and soft tissue. Here we select two evaluation methods and make clear the effectiveness of multi-resolutional filter on an energy subtraction image.

본 연구의 목적은 계층적 분석 기법을 이용한 비즈니스 프로세스 관리 시스템(BPMS)의 평가 모형을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 전문가 집단으로부터 BPMS 솔루션 선택을 위한 기준을 도출하였으며, 이 기준들의 쌍대비교를 통해 AHP 기반의 분석 모형을 개발하였다. 분석모형을 통해 기업이 원하는 BPMS 솔루션을 선택할 수 있으며, 이는 기업의 프로세스 관리 능력 제고에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

Star formation activities dominate the evolution of galaxies. Elliptical galaxies are believed to be old galaxies in the Hubble sequence, and elliptical galaxies at different evolution epochs might have different star formation activities and/or morphologies. We investigate the connection between star formation rates and the morphology of elliptical galaxies. With the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and the Galaxy Zoo, we select a sample of elliptical galaxies by morphology and consider their infrared emission as an index of star formation rate to study the relation between the star formation rates and their morphological properties, such as ellipticities. In addition, we select some nearby spiral galaxies with very low MIR emission to probe the mechanisms of these red spiral galaxies. We display our preliminary results and discuss their implication on the evolution of galaxies in this poster.

Axiomatic Design Theory is one of the most useful design methodologies which uses Functional Requirements(FRs) and Design Parameters(DPs) to make human designers more creative, to reduce the random search process, to minimize the iterative trial-and-error process, and to determine the best design among those proposed. In this research, we show how to develop a CAD system for an automotive rubber machinery using the axiomatic design approach to illustrate the effectiveness of the theory and we suggest a better way to select FRs and DPs in axiomatic design approach which can help designers to select them more effectively, objectively, and easily.

마이크로 프로세서와 DSP(Digital Signal Process)의 성능에 매우 중요한 역할을 하는 가산기는 어떠한 캐리 생성 방식을 적용하느냐에 따라 그 성능이 크게 좌우된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 연산속도 면에서 우수한 캐리 륵어헤드 방식(Carry Look-ahead Algorithm)과 면적 면에서 우수한 캐리 선택 방식(Carry Select Algorithm)을 이용하였으며, 이 두 방식의 최적조합을 적용하여 고속 64비트 가산기를 설계하였다. 따라서 본 논문은 연산속도와 면적을 모두 개선한 최적의 CLSA(Carry Look-ahead Select Adder) 방식을 제안하였으며. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 설계된 회로의 우수성을 입증하였다.

This Paper focuses on discusing how to select, arrange and evaluate furniture and how to estimate the space of the living room.In this Paper, the size of the living room was manipulated in 3 . ways;66-95.7m2, 99-128.7 m2 and more of 132 m2.The major findings are as follows:1) The subjects in the larger size select or arrange furniture more diversely and show the higher satisfactory level for the arrangement of furniture than those in the smaller ,size do.2) The subjects in the smaller size shows the conflict between their plan for the furniture \ulcorner arrangement and their evaluation for the arranged furniture.3) The variables affecting the estimation of the living room are the arrangement, the color, the number and tile design of furniture.4) Five dimensions(activity, evaluation luxry, plenty and openness)are extracted by factor analysis.

This paper presents an image contrast enhancement technique for improving low contrast images. We applied fuzzy logic to develop an image contrast enhancement technique in the viewpoint of considering that the low pictorial information of a low contrast image is due to the vaguness or fuzziness of the multivalued levels of brightness rather than randomness. The fuzzy image contrast enhancement technique consists of three main stages, namely, image fuzzification, modification of membership values, and image defuzzification. In the stage of image fuzzification, we need to select a crossover point. To select the crossover point automatically the K-means algorithm is used. The problem of crossover point selection can be considered as the two-category, object and background, classification problem. The proposed method is applied to an experimental image with 256 gray levels and the result of the proposed method is compared with that of the histogram equalization technique. We used the index of fuzziness as a measure of image quality. The result shows that the proposed method is better than the histogram equalization technique.

The purpose of this study is to select the sustainability evaluation criteria of detached house and assess it's importance. The theoretical study is performed to select the evaluation criteria. Expert's survey and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique are conducted to assess the importance of each factors. In a result, the four sustainability evaluation criteria was energy, economy, environment, and quality of life. Also, the energy was the most important sustainability evaluation criteria factor, while the weight of four factors showed similar weights.
