Li(Ni1-x-yCoxMny)O2계 이차전지 공정 스크랩으로부터 회수한 전이금속을 활용한 리튬이차전지 양극재 제조 (Preparation of Cathode Materials for Lithium Rechargeable Batteries using Transition Metals Recycled from Li(Ni1-x-yCoxMny)O2 Secondary Battery Scraps)

  • Cathode materials and their precursors are prepared with transition metal solutions recycled from the the waste lithium-ion batteries containing NCM (nickel-cobalt-manganese) cathodes by a $H_2$ and C-reduction process. The recycled transition metal sulfate solutions are used in a co-precipitation process in a CSTR reactor to obtain the transition metal hydroxide. The NCM cathode materials (Ni:Mn:Co=5:3:2) are prepared from the transition metal hydroxide by calcining with lithium carbonate. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy analyses show that the cathode material has a layered structure and particle size of about 10 ${\mu}m$. The cathode materials also exhibited a capacity of about 160 mAh/g with a retention rate of 93~96% after 100 cycles.

평판식 태양열 공기가열기의 성능에 관한 연구 -도장재료, 도장방법 및 공기통로 구조를 중심으로- (A Study on the Performance of Ak Heaters -Black Coating Materials, Coating Methods and Structure of Air Path-)

  • In order to obtain the basic data for designing optimum flat plate solar air heaters, which can be operated with relatively low temperature for drying farm products, 8 different treatment of solar air heaters were devised and tested for their heating performances and efficiencies. The results were analised and summarized as follows. 1. The primary factors, structure of air path (C), black coating materials (A) and bottom coating methods (B) showed very high significant effect of far above 1% level. With respect to the mutual multiplying effect of secondary factors, 1% level of significance was found with coating materials and methods (AB), and 5% level of significance was found with coating materials and air path structure (AC). 2. The heating performance of the air heaters with winding air path showed about twice those with straight air path. 3. The Korean black ink which is less expensive than dim oil paint showed 3-4% better heating efficiencies as the black coating material of flat plate solar air heaters. 4. The heating efficiencies of the solar air heaters whose bottoms were not black coated were 2-3% higher than those with black coated bottoms. 5. The highest heating efficiency of solar air heater among 8 different treatment was found in the plot of Korean black ink-bottom not coated-winding air path showing 29.0-34.5%

  • There is now a large body of research which investigate the preconceptions held by the students in a variety of school levels ranging from the elementary schools to the universities. A problem exists, however, in applying the fingings of the research to the practices of science education. Meanwhile the field of science education is in urgent need of the new instructional theories. One viable means of improving such problematic situation as this is to develop the teaching/learning materials which incorporate the suggestions implied by the results of the research. A prosedure for developing an instructional material and the application of the material in the naturalistic classes are described. Also described in this article are the analyses of the effectiveness of the materials and the implications of this developmental study for the teaching strategies of science.

Development and Characteristics of Anorthite-Based Traditional Ceramic Materials to Suppress Sintering Deformation

  • An anorthite-based traditional ceramic was developed by adding secondary flux materials to a mixture of kaolin and $CaCO_3$ in order to minimize the deformation during the sintering process. Three flux materials, feldspar, talc, and frit, were evaluated by comparison with two commercial chinaware bodies. Anorthite body with glass frit exhibited poor firing shrinkage. Poor mechanical properties (modulus of rupture, MOR < 30 MPa) was observed for the bodies with feldspar. Another anorthite body was formulated with wollastonite as a Ca source. The fired body showed a MOR of 81 MPa and a shrinkage rate of 6% when wollastonite was added up to 50%. In the XRD analysis, the phase ratio between anorthite and quartz was the highest in the specimen with 50% wollastonite addition. Homogeneous and relatively small closed pores were observed in the microstructural analysis. These results suggest that a ceramic body formulated with 50% kaolin and 50% wollastonite can be fired at $1200^{\circ}C$ with a 6% firing shrinkage rate, giving rise to minimal sintering deformation.

Enhanced Hole Injections in Organic Light Emitting Diode using Rhodium Oxide Coated Anode

  • We compare electrical and optical properties of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) using rhodium-oxide-coated indium-tin-oxide ($O_2$-Rh/ITO) to that using $O_2$-plasma-treated ITO (ITO) anodes. The turn-on voltage decreased from 7 V to 5 V and luminance value increased when the $O_2$ plasma treated Rh layer was deposited on ITO. Synchrotron radiation photoelectron spectroscopy results showed the dipole energies of both ITO and $O_2$-Rh/ITO were same with each other, - 0.3 eV, meaning the formation of same amount of interface dipole. The secondary electron emission spectra revealed that the work function of $O_2$-Rh/ITO is higher hy 0.2 eV than that of ITO, resulting in the decrease of the tum-on voltage via reduction ofhole injection barrier.

  • In this, we have investigated the solute behavior in front of solid-liquid interface according to the change of the cooling rate in bronze alloy and phosphor bronze alloy. The conclusive summary is as follows: 1) The secondary dendrite arm spacing was decreased with increasing the cooling rate. 2) The minimum solute concentration happened to along centerline of primary arm, and the maximum solute concentration was found at the boundary of arm or between the arms the minimum solute concentration was increased with the cooling rate. 3) Segregation Index S was decreased with increasing the cooling rate and content of P. 4) The degree of the microsegregation was decreased with increasing the cooling rate. The effective distribution coefficient, Ke was increased with addition of P in Cu-Sn.

Densification and Dielectric Properties of Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3-Glass Composites for LTCC Applications

  • Barium zincoborate (BZB) glass was added to $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}TiO_3$, and sintered at $875^{\circ}C$ for 2 h in air. When the BZB glass was added in quantities ranging from 15 to 20 wt%, the relative bulk density ranged from 93.1% to 94.2%, while the density decreased to roughly 81% thereafter up to 30 wt% glass addition. Quantitative XRD analysis showed that the $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}TiO_3$ filler was significantly dissolved into the BZB glass. However, no secondary phase was identified by XRD up to 30 wt% glass addition. The dielectric constant was about 130 to 140 at 1MHz up to 20 wt% BZB glass addition, while it decreased to about 60 thereafter, which may be ascribed to decreased density, partial dissolution of the $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}TiO_3$, and associated changes in the glass composition. The dielectric loss of the 20 wt% glass added specimen was 0.008.

Thermal Instability of La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 Thin Films on Fused Silica

  • $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}MnO_3$ (LSMO) thin films, which are known as colossal magnetoresistance materials, were prepared on fused silica thin films by conventional RF magnetron sputtering, and the interfacial reactions between them were investigated by rapid thermal processing. Various analyses, namely, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy combined with energy adispersive X-ray spectrometry, and secondary ion mass spectrometry, were performed to explain the mechanism of the interfacial reactions. In the case of an LSMO film annealed at $800^{\circ}C$, the layer distinction against the underplayed $SiO_2$ was well preserved. However, when the annealing temperature was raised to $900^{\circ}C$, interdiffusion and interreaction occurred. Most of the $SiO_2$ and part of the LSMO became amorphous silicate that incorporated La, Sr, and Mn and contained a lot of bubbles. When the annealing temperature was raised to $950^{\circ}C$, the whole stack became an amorphous silicate layer with expanded bubbles. The thermal instability of LSMO on fused silica should be an important consideration when LSMO is integrated into Si-based solid-state devices.

  • 알루미늄 폐캔은 중요한 재활용 자원으로서 알루미늄 캔용 원소재 판재는 물론 알루미늄의 국내소요량을 전량 수입에 의존하고 있는 우리나라로서는 활용 가능한 알루미늄폐캔의 재활용율을 높여야 하는 것은 외화절약과 환경보호 측면에서 대단히 중요하다. 사용한 알루미늄 캔을 다시 캔으로 재활용 하는 단계는 폐캔의 수집, 파쇄, 선별, 도료제거, 용해 및 2차지금을 제조하는 단계와 이 2차지금을 이용하여 열처리, 열간 및 냉간압연, 중간소둔처리 등을 거쳐 다시 캔을 성형하는 2단계로 나눌수 있다. 본 자료에서는 이러한 알루미늄 캔의 재활용 기술에 대한 우리나라와 선진국들의 현황과 전망을 소개하였다.

화학적으로 변형된 전구용액을 이용한 YBCO 박막 제조 (Fabrication of YBCO films in MOD processing via chemically modified precursor solution)

  • Superconducting YBCO films were successfully fabricated by MOD process using chemically modified precursor solution. In this study, a chemically modified precursor solution for MOD processing was synthesized using metal-organic salts and organic additives. It was shown that crack-free and uniform precursor films were formed after calcination in humidified Oxygen atmosphere. Less than 3 hours are required to finish the calcination process. XRD measurement shows that $BaF_2,\;CuO,\;Y_2O_3$ are major constituent of precursor films. Furthermore, YBCO films without any secondary phases were successfully fabricated after annealing in wet $Ar/O_2$ atmosphere. The YBCO film prepared on a $LaAlO_3$ single crystal substrate ($10mm{\times}10mm$) gives transport $I_c$ of 10A at 77K. This chemical modification approach is a possible candidate for improving MOD-processing of YBCO coated conductor.
