모델식의 2차 근사에 의한 정량적인 초음파 단층 촬영 알고리즘 (A Quantitative Ultrasound Tomography Algorithm Via the Second Order Approximation of the Model Equation)

  • The validity of the application of the second-order Born equation to the ultrasound tomography algorithm is studied by comparing the scattered fields computed using the first-order Born equation, the first-order Rytove equation, and the second-order Born equation. The second-order Born equation turns out to provide more desirable results than the other two equations for a certain group of test objects. Phantom images with resolutions upto 1 pixel$\times$1 pixel are satisfactorily reconstructed using the second-order Born equation. It is shown that when the view angle is limited, good resonstruction results are also obtained using multi-frequency incident fields.

  • This paper studies the properties of solutions of the Riccati equation arising from the quadratic optimal control problem of the general damped second order system. Using the semigroup theory, we establish the weak differential characterization of the Riccati equation for a general class of the second order distributed systems with arbitrary damping terms.

Oscillation of Certain Second Order Damped Quasilinear Elliptic Equations via the Weighted Averages

  • By using the weighted averaging techniques, we establish oscillation criteria for the second order damped quasilinear elliptic differential equation $$\sum_{i,j=1}^{N}D_i(a_{ij}(x){\parallel}Dy{\parallel}^{p-2}D_jy)+{\langle}b(x),\;{\parallel}Dy{\parallel}^{p-2}Dy{\rangle}+c(x)f(y)=0,\;p>1$$. The obtained theorems include and improve some existing ones for the undamped halflinear partial differential equation and the semilinear elliptic equation.

  • The paper is concerned with periodic linear evolution equations of the form x"(t) = A(t)x(t)+f(t), where A(t) is a family of (unbounded) linear operators in a Banach space X, strongly and periodically depending on t, f is an almost (or asymptotic) almost periodic function. We study conditions for this equation to have almost periodic solutions on ℝ as well as to have asymptotic almost periodic solutions on ℝ+. We convert the second order equation under consideration into a first order equation to use the spectral theory of functions as well as recent methods of study. We obtain new conditions that are stated in terms of the spectrum of the monodromy operator associated with the first order equation and the frequencies of the forcing term f.

  • Mixed finite element method is developed to approxi-mate the solution of the initial-boundary value problem for a strongly nonlinear second-order hyperbolic equation in divergence form. Exis-tence and uniqueness of the approximation are proved and optimal-order $L\infty$-in-time $L^2$-in-space a priori error estimates are derived for both the scalar and vector functions approximated by the method.

  • This paper is concerned with the interval oscillation of the second order nonlinear ordinary differential equation (r(t)|y'(t)|$^{{\alpha}-1}$ y'(t))'+p(t)|y'(t)|$^{{\alpha}-1}$ y'(t)+q(t)f(y(t))g(y'(t))=0. By constructing ageneralized Riccati transformation and using the method of averaging techniques, we establish some interval oscillation criteria when f(y) is not differetiable but satisfies the condition $\frac{f(y)}{|y|^{{\alpha}-1}y}$ ${\geq}{\mu}_0$ > 0 for $y{\neq}0$.

  • Some Kamenev-type oscillation criteria are obtained for a second order quasilinear damped differential equation with impulses. These criteria generalize and improve some well-known results for second order differential equations with land without impulses. In addition, new oscillation criteria are also obtained to generalize and improve known results. Two examples of applications are given to illustrate the theory.

  • By using general means, some oscillation criteria for second order nonlinear elliptic differential equation with damping $$\sum_{i,j=1}^{N}D_i[a_{ij}(x)D_iy]+\sum_{i=1}^{N}b_i(x)D_iy+p(x)f(y)=0$$ are obtained. These criteria are of a high degree of generality and extend the oscillation theorems for second order linear ordinary differential equations due to Kamenev, Philos and Wong.

  • 불확정 구조계획의 선형 고유치 문제는 재료정수나 경게조건 및 외부하중 등에 결정론적으로 사용할 수 없는 확률량을 포함하고 있다. 변동량을 내포한 고유치 문제의 해석은 기대치에 대한 지배 방정식과 변동량 결정방정식을 고려해야 한다. 비선형성이 심한 구조계를 선형화할 대 일차 및 이차 변동값을 반영함으로 고유치의 정도를 향상시킬 수 있다. 매개변수에 불확정성을 포함한 고유치 문제는 최적설계 정식화에서 변동된 값을 고료해 줌으로 신뢰성 있는 설계가 된다. 최적설계 알고리즘 중에는 목적함수와 제한 조건식의 설계 민감도를 요한다. 이차 기울기에 근거를 둔 최적설계 수행시에 변동량에 고려하여 제한식으로 설정하고, 설계 민감도를 구할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다.
