OPTIMUM STORAGE REALLOCATION AND GATE OPERATION IN MULTIPURPOSE RESERVOIRS

  • This research is intended to integrate long-term operation rules and real time operation policy for conservation & flood control in a reservoir. The familiar Yield model has been modified and used to provide long-term rule curves. The model employs linear programming technique under given physical conditions, i.e., total capacity, dead storage, spillways, outlet capacity and their respective elevations to find required and desired minimum storage fur different demands. To investigate the system behavior resulting from the above-mentioned operating policy, i.e., the rule curves, the simulation model was used. Results of the simulation model show that the results of the optimization model are indeed valid. After confirmation of the above mentioned rule curves by the simulation models, gate operation procedure was merged with the long term operation rules to determine the optimum reservoir operating policy. In the gate operation procedure, operating policy in downstream flood plain, i.e., determination of damaging and non-damaging discharges in flood plain, peak floods, which could be routed by reservoir, are determined. Also outflow hydrograph and variations of water surface levels for two known hydrographs are determined. To examine efficiency of the above-mentioned models and their ability in determining the optimum operation policy, Esteghlal reservoir in Iran was analyzed as a case study. A numerical model fur the solution of two-dimensional dam break problems using fractional step method is developed on unstructured grid. The model is based on second-order Weighted Averaged Flux(WAF) scheme with HLLC approximate Riemann solver. To control the nonphysical oscillations associated with second-order accuracy, TVD scheme with SUPERBEE limiter is used. The developed model is verified by comparing the computational solutions with analytic solutions in idealized test cases. Very good agreements have been achieved in the verifications.

  • 본 연구에서는 근사모델을 이용하여 설계공간의 타당성을 높일 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. 이때 설계공간을 이동시키기 위한 기준으로 Chebyshev Inequality를 사용하였다. 이를 공탄성을 고려한 항공기 익형 설계문제에 적용함으로써 타당성이 크게 향상됨을 확인하였으며 이렇게 구한 설계공간 내에서 최적화를 수행함으로써 보다 우수한 최적값도 얻을 수 있었다. 즉 설계공간 내에서 주어진 제약조건을 만족할 확률이 증가하였으며, 설계공간을 이동시킴으로써 보다 우수한 최적점이 설계공간 내에 포함되었다고 할 수 있다. 또한 이 과정에서 반응면 모델과 크리깅 모델, 두 가지 근사모델을 사용하여 정확성과 효율성, 실험점에 대한 강건성 등을 비교하였으며, 본 연구에서 설계한 문제의 경우 비교적 선형적인 특징으로 인해 반응면이 보다 우수한 결과를 보여줌을 확인하였다.

도플러 효과에 의한 지연 동기 루프의 추적 성능분석 (Infulence of doppler effects on the tracking performance of a dely locked loop)

  • 본 논문은 도플러 효과가 GPS 수신기용 비동기 2차 DLL(noncoherent second-order delay locked loop)의 추적 성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 성능 분석을 위하여 선형 DLL의 추적 정확도(steady state error and jitter)와 비선형 루프의 신뢰도를 고려하였다. 루프의 신뢰도에 관한 비선형 분석은 MTLL(mean time to lose lock)에서 근사 확장법을 사용하였다. 특히, 최대 MTLL을 얻기 위하여 loop에서 대역 여파기의 최적 대역폭과 최적 루프 파라미터를 제안하였다. 저궤도 위성의 경우는 도플러 영향이 크게 나타나므로 MTLL을 최대로 추적 오차를 최소 하는 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 시뮬레이션 결과로부터 설계된 디지탈 지연동기 루프 시스템이 정확히 동작함을 확인하기 위해 GPS 신호를 발생시키는 시뮬레이터인 STR-2770을 사용, 도플러 주파수를 첨가하여 실제 상황과 같은 환경에서 FPGA로 구현된 DLL회로의 성능을 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 칩 내부 회로 연결선의 모형으로 많이 사용되는 RC-class 회로에 대하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하지 않고 지연 시간을 계산할 수 있는 해석적 3차 근사 기법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 3차 근사 기법은 기존의 2차 근사 기법에 비해 크지 않은 수행 시간을 필요로 하면서도 보다 정확한 결과를 보장한다. 이 해석적 3차 근사 기법은 일반적인 q 차 AWE(Asymptotic Waveform Evaluation)기법의 계산 결과와 비교해 허용 가능한 수준의 오차를 보장하며, 계산 시간의 단축과 함께 수치적으로 안정된 값을 제공한다. 제안하는 기법의 첫 알고리즘은 3차의 근사를 위해 8개의 모멘트를 필요로 하며, 보다 정확한 지연 시간의 근사가 가능하다. 둘째 알고리즘은 3차의 근사를 위해 6개의 모멘트를 필요로 하며, 첫 알고리즘보다 정확도는 뒤지나 빠른 근사가 가능하다.

Prediction of Chemical Composition and Fermentation Parameters in Forage Sorghum and Sudangrass Silage using Near Infrared Spectroscopy

  • This study was conducted to assess the potential of using NIRS to accurately determine the chemical composition and fermentation parameters in fresh coarse sorghum and sudangrass silage. Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) has been increasingly used as a rapid and accurate method to analyze the quality of cereals and dried animal forage. However, silage analysis by NIRS has a limitation in analyzing dried and ground samples in farm-scale applications because the fermentative products are lost during the drying process. Fresh coarse silage samples were scanned at 1 nm intervals over the wavelength range of 680~2500 nm, and the optical data were obtained as log 1/Reflectance (log 1/R). The spectral data were regressed, using partial least squares (PLS) multivariate analysis in conjunction with first and second order derivatization, with a scatter correction procedure (standard normal variate and detrend (SNV&D)) to reduce the effect of extraneous noise. The optimum calibrations were selected on the basis of minimizing the standard error of cross validation (SECV). The results of this study showed that NIRS predicted the chemical constituents with a high degree of accuracy (i.e. the correlation coefficient of cross validation ($R^2{_{cv}}$) ranged from 0.86~0.96), except for crude ash which had an $R^2{_{cv}}$ of 0.68. Comparison of the mathematical treatments for raw spectra showed that the second-order derivatization procedure produced the best result for all the treatments, except for neutral detergent fiber (NDF). The best mathematical treatment for moisture, acid detergent fiber (ADF), crude protein (CP) and pH was 2,16,16 respectively while the best mathematical treatment for crude ash, lactic acid and total acid was 2,8,8 respectively. The calibrations of fermentation products produced poorer calibrations (RPD < 2.5) with acetic and butyric acid. The pH, lactic acid and total acids were predicted with considerable accuracy at $R^2{_{cv}}$ 0.72~0.77. This study indicated that NIRS calibrations based on fresh coarse sorghum and sudangrass silage spectra have the capability of assessing the forage quality control

  • 기업이 현존하는 다양한 비즈니스와 IT 프로세스 개선을 위해서 많은 시간과 비용을 들이지 않고도, 선제적으로 4차 산업 혁명에 대응하기 위해 최근 각광받고 있는 것이 RPA(Robotic Process Automation) 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 RPA의 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 변인들을 긍정적인 요인 세 가지와 부정적인 요인 세 가지로 대표성 있게 식별하고, 이러한 변인들이 실제 RPA 수용의도에 미치는 영향의 인과관계를 살펴보았다. 일반 사무근로자를 대상으로 이메일 설문조사를 실시한 후, SPSS 27.0와 SmartPLS 3.3.5를 이용하여서 구조방정식 분석을 수행하였다. 보안성, 정확성, 효율성으로 이루어진 긍정적 지각과 고용불안, 실행오류, 도입실패염려로 이루어진 부정적 지각이 2차 요인으로 구성되었으며, 지각된 유용성과 지각된 용이성을 매개로 긍정적 지각이 RPA 사용의도에 영향을 미쳤으며, 부정적 지각이 수용갈등을 매개로 RPA 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, RPA 사용 경험의 유무가 지각된 용이성과 상호작용하여서 RPA 사용의도에 조절효과를 미치는 것을 확인하였다. RPA를 사용하려는 기업의 입장에서 어떤 요인이 중요한지 인식하고 대응할 수 있도록 한 점에서 지식경영관점의 실무적이며 이론적인 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

Integrated fire dynamics and thermomechanical modeling framework for steel-concrete composite structures

  • The objective of this study is to formulate a general 3D material-structural analysis framework for the thermomechanical behavior of steel-concrete structures in a fire environment. The proposed analysis framework consists of three sequential modeling parts: fire dynamics simulation, heat transfer analysis, and a thermomechanical stress analysis of the structure. The first modeling part consists of applying the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) where coupled CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) with thermodynamics are combined to realistically model the fire progression within the steel-concrete structure. The goal is to generate the spatial-temporal (ST) solution variables (temperature, heat flux) on the surfaces of the structure. The FDS-ST solutions are generated in a discrete form. Continuous FDS-ST approximations are then developed to represent the temperature or heat-flux at any given time or point within the structure. An extensive numerical study is carried out to examine the best ST approximation functions that strike a balance between accuracy and simplicity. The second modeling part consists of a finite-element (FE) transient heat analysis of the structure using the continuous FDS-ST surface variables as prescribed thermal boundary conditions. The third modeling part is a thermomechanical FE structural analysis using both nonlinear material and geometry. The temperature history from the second modeling part is used at all nodal points. The ABAQUS (2003) FE code is used with external user subroutines for the second and third simulation parts in order to describe the specific heat temperature nonlinear dependency that drastically affects the transient thermal solution especially for concrete materials. User subroutines are also developed to apply the continuous FDS-ST surface nodal boundary conditions in the transient heat FE analysis. The proposed modeling framework is applied to predict the temperature and deflection of the well-documented third Cardington fire test.

저가항공사의 서비스품질이 항공사의 이미지와 행동의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Service Quality on Airline Image and Behavioral Intention of Low-Cost Carriers)

  • Purpose - This study attempts to examine the underlying dimensions of service quality (tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy) for low-cost carriers. It subsequently seeks to determine the effect of the relationships of the dimensions of service quality, airline image, and behavioral intentions on airline services to provide adequate basic information and attributes for developing differentiated and competitive service marketing strategies. Research design, data, and methodology - The survey for this study was conducted on patrons with low-cost carrier boarding experiences in districts near universities and central businesses of Seoul and Busan from 5/10/2012 to 16/10/2012. Out of 346 questionnaires, 20 questionnaires with missing data and insincere answers were excluded for this study. Collected data were processed using SPSS 18.0, and the hypothesis was verified by analyzing the structural equation model with Lisrel 8.54. First, the frequency analysis was conducted to identify universal characteristics. Second, the exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis were conducted to identify the accuracy of the variable measurements of the construct. Third, to assess uni-dimensionality and reliability, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted. Finally, to verify the adequacy of the research model and research hypothesis, the structural model was employed. Results - The results revealed that the factors, "tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy" were shown to be the most important dimensions of service quality for the airline image of the low-cost carrier which was consistent with previous studies. Therefore, it is fair to suggest that these verified factors are crucial attributes for the brand image of low-cost carriers. Second, as reliability and responsiveness were shown to be the most important factors for behavioral intentions, it is viable to suggest that these two attributes are crucial for the sales value of low-cost carriers. Further, it was found that the brand image of low-cost carriers was closely related to behavioral intentions. Therefore, in order to ensure the competitiveness and loyalty of patrons, the airline image value is a crucial attribute. Conclusions - The result of this study established that service quality is the most important attribute for marketing to ensure competitiveness, and intensive and differentiated service marketing play a crucial role in creating profits for low-cost carrier companies. First, as tangibility is found to be the most crucial factor in ensuring service quality, quality control and maintenance of medium and small carriers must be provided to ensure reliability, as they are the main attributes of low-cost carriers. Second, in order to promote positive behavioral intentions, it is essential to enhance the value of airline image. Third, in order to ensure competitiveness, it is imperative to carry out intensive and differentiated service marketing. Therefore, to promote the image of low-cost carriers and enhance behavioral intentions, the level of service quality must be secured by developing appropriate service improvement programs.

모의 인접면 치아우식병소의 진단을 위한 구내 표준방사선사진과 그 디지털 영상의 비교 (A COMPARISON OF PERIAPICAL RADIOGRAPHS AND THEIR DIGITAL IMAGES FOR THE DETECTION OF SIMULATED INTERPROXIMAL CARIOUS LESIONS)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of periapical radiographs and their digitized images for the detection of simulated interproximal carious lesions. A total of 240 interproximal surfaces was used in this study. The case sample was composed of 80 anterior teeth, 80 bicuspids and 80 molars which were prepared in order to distribute the surfaces from carious free to those containing simulated carious lesions of varying depths (0.5㎜, 0.8㎜, and 1.2㎜). The periapical radiographs were taken by paralleling technique and film used was Kodak Ektaspeed(E group). All radiographs were evaluated by five dentist to recognize the true status of simulated carious lesion. They were asked to give a score of 0, 1, 2, or 3. Digitized images were obtained using a commercial video processor(FOTOVIX Ⅱ- XS). And the computer system was 486 DX PC with PC Vision and frame grabber. The 17' display monitor had a resolution of 1280×1024 pixels(0.26㎜ dot pitch). But the one frame of the intraoral radiograph has a resolution of 700×480 pixels and each pixel has a grey level value of 256. All the radiographs and digital images were viewed under uniform subdued lighting in the same reading room. After a week the second interpretation was performed in the same condition. The detection of lesions on the monitor was compared with the finding of simulated interproximal carious lesions on the film images. The results were as follows: 1. When the scoring criteria was dichotomous ; lesion present and not present 1) The overall sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic accuracy of periapical radiographs and their digital images showed no statistically significant difference. 2) The sensitivity and specificity according to the region of teeth and the grade of lesions showed no statistically significant difference between periapical radiographs and their digital images. 2. When estimate the grade of lesions ; score 0, 1, 2, 3 1) The overall diagnostic accuracy was 53.3% on the intraoral films and 52.9% on digital images. There was no significant difference. 2) The diagnostic accuracy according to the region of teeth showed no statistically significant difference between periapical radiographs and their digital images. 3. The degree of agreement and reliability 1) Using gamma value to show the degree of agreement, there was similarity between periapical films and digital images. 2) The reliability of each twice interpretation of periapical films and digital images showed no statistically significant difference. In all cases P value was greater than 0.05, showing that both techniques can be used to detect the incipient and moderate interproximal carious lesions with similar accuracy.

다중 파괴모드에 의한 혼성제 케이슨의 단면 산정 및 제체에 대한 시스템 신뢰성 해석 (Determination of cross section of composite breakwaters with multiple failure modes and system reliability analysis)

  • 혼성제 케이슨에서 발생 가능한 활동, 전도 그리고 편심 경사하중에 의한 마운드 지지력에 대한 안정성을 다중 파괴모드 개념으로 해석하였다. 먼저 결정론적 해석에서는 활동 및 전도 그리고 마운드 지지력에 대한 한계 상태방정식을 이용하여 최소 안전율을 만족하는 혼성제 케이슨의 최소 단면을 산정할 수 있는 식을 유도하였다. 입사조건 및 마루높이 그리고 설치수심에 따른 결정론적 해석 결과에 의하면 활동 파괴모드와 마운드 지지력 파괴모드간 상충이 발생되었다. 따라서 혼성제 케이슨의 설계단면을 결정론적으로 산정하는 경우에도 활동뿐만 아니라 전도와 마운드 지지력에 대한 다중 파괴모드를 동시에 고려하여야 한다. 한편 확률론적 해석에서는 활동에 의하여 결정된 단면에 대하여 다중 파괴모드에 대한 시스템 신뢰성 해석을 수행하였다. 혼성제 케이슨의 다중 파괴모드에 의한 제체의 시스템 파괴확률이 입사조건에 따라 매우 다르게 거동하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 마루높이와 설치수심이 증가하여도 제체의 시스템 파괴확률이 증가하는 경향이 나타났다. 특히 시스템 신뢰성 해석의 일차 해석모형과 이차 해석모형의 결과들은 본 연구에서 수행된 조건들에서는 일치되는 거동 특성을 나타냈다. 그러나 파괴모드 사이의 상관성을 올바로 고려할 수 있는 이차 해석모형의 결과가 더 높은 정도를 갖는다. 다만 파괴모드 사이에 파괴확률이 상대적으로 크게 차이나는 경우에는 일차 해석모형도 간편하게 사용할 수 있다.
