급성 벨마비 환자의 자가보고형 불안 및 우울평가 (Neuropsychologic Analysis of Acute Bell's Palsy)

  • Background: Bell's palsy produces a complex problem that involves not only facial motor weakness, but also psychiatric issues. However, the relationship between facial neuromotor system impairment and psychological adjustment has not been well understood. Methods: We have performed psychological evaluations in patients with acute unilateral Bell's palsy within 2 weeks after onset. Thirty patients with Bell's palsy (10 men, 20 women) were included, who were diagnosed by neurologic examination, electrophysiologic study and/or brain MRI. We measured facial motor scale of impairment (House-Brackmann, HB scale) and psychosocial adjustment [Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI)] at the time of initial presentation and 1 month after diagnosis. Results: The age of the enrolled patients ranged from 16 to 80 years. The mean grade of initial and follow up HB scale were 3.87 (SD: 0.63, range 2~5) and 1.77 (SD: 1.10, range 1~5). The mean score of initial and follow up BAI, BDI were 11.93 (range; 0 to 47, SD: 9.65, very low anxiety), 14.73 (range; 0 to 41, SD: 9.21 minimal depression) and 7.5 (range; 0 to 36, SD: 8.58, very low anxiety), 9.33 (range; 0 to 30, SD: 8.19 minimal depression). There was positive correlation between improvement of HB scale and improvement of BAI and BDI score. Conclusions: Bell's palsy is associated with the psychological problems such as depression and anxiety, and the improvement of motor symptom is associated with the improvement of these psychological problems.

Size Determination of Pollens Using Gravitational and Sedimentation Field-Flow Fractionation

  • Pollens are known to be an allergen. They penetrate human respiratory system, triggering a type of seasonal allergic rhinitis called pollen allergy (hey fever). The purpose of this study is to test two field-flow fractionation (FFF) techniques, gravitational FFF (GrFFF) and sedimentation FFF (SdFFF), for their applicability to sizecharacterization of micron-sized pollens. Both GrFFF and SdFFF are elution techniques, providing sequential elution of particles based on size. They allow the size distribution as well as the mean size of the sample to be determined from the elution time. In this study, GrFFF and SdFFF were used to determine the size distribution of Paper Mulberry and Bermuda Grass pollens. For the Paper Mulberry pollen, the mean size obtained by GrFFF is 12.7 μm, and agrees rather well with the OM data with the relative error of 8.0%. For the Bermuda Grass pollen, the mean size obtained by GrFFF is 32.6 μm with the relative error of 12.3%. The mean sizes determined by SdFFF are 12.4 (relative error = 10.1%) and 27.1 μm (relative error = 5.2%) for the Paper Mulberry and the Bermuda Grass pollen, respectively. Although SdFFF tends to yield more accurate size distribution due to lower band broadening under the field strength higher than 1 G, the sizes determined by GrFFF were not significantly different from those by SdFFF.

시험 제작한 기계식 백색소음기 수중음원의 음향적 특성 (Acoustical characteristics of prototype mechanical white noise generator as an underwater sound source)

  • This paper describes a prototype mechanical white noise generator has a source level of more than 170.0 dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$ at 1 m) at the frequency range of 10 Hz to 100 kHz. The results of performance evaluation of the generator are as follows. The average source level of the generator measured by a step of $15^{\circ}$ in horizontal (0 to $360^{\circ}$, 25 points) was 185.2 (SD (standard deviation): 2.3) dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$ at 1 m). The maximum and minimum source levels were appeared at the frequency range of 2.5 to 5.0 kHz and around 100 kHz, respectively. The average source levels at $0^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $180^{\circ}$ and $270^{\circ}$ were 162.9 (SD: 10.6), 168.4 (SD: 10.0), 162.1 (SD: 9.1) and 166.5 (SD: 11.1) dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$ at 1 m). The average source level measured by a step of $30^{\circ}$ in vertical was 184.9 (SD: 2.2) dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$ at 1 m). The relative maximum variation width of the source levels in horizontal and in vertical measurement were less than 7.0 dB and 1.0 dB, respectively.

Calculation of the Least Significant Change Value of Bone Densitometry Using a Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry System

  • Purpose: The precision error of a bone density meter reflects the equipment and reproducibility of results by an examiner. Precision error values can be expressed as coefficient of variation (CV), CV%, and root mean square-SD (RMS-SD). The International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) currently recommends using RMS-SD as the precision error value. When a 95% confidence interval is applied, the least significant change (LSC) value is calculated by multiplying the precision error value by 2.77. Exceeding the LSC value reflects a significant difference in measured bone density. Therefore, the LSC value of a bone density equipment is an essential factor for accurately determining a patient's bone density. Accordingly, we aimed to calculate the LSC value of a bone density meter (Lunar iDXA, GE) and compare it with the value recommended by the ISCD. We also assessed whether the value measured by the iDXA equipment was below the LSC value recommended by ISCD. Material and Methods: The bone densities of the lumbar spine and thighs of 30 participants were measured twice, and the LSC values were calculated using the precision calculation tool provided by the ISCD (http://www.iscd.org). To check the reproducibility of the measurement, patients were asked to completely dismount from the equipment after the first measurement; the patient was then repositioned before proceeding with the second measurement. Results: The LSC values derived using the CV% values recommended by the ISCD were 5.3% for the lumbar spine and 5.0% for the thigh. The LSC values measured using our bone density equipment were 2.47% for the lumbar spine and 1.61% for the thigh. The LSC value using RMS-SD was 0.031 g/cm2 for the lumbar spine and 0.017 g/cm2 for the thigh. Conclusion: that the findings confirm that the CV% value measured using our bone density meter and the LSC value using RMS-SD were maintained very stably. This can be helpful for obtaining accurate measurements during bone density follow-up examinations.

  • Many researchers make efforts to develop an effective material with anti-degradation property. Specially, the porcelain type insulator is required exchanging to polymer insulator according to the environmental consideration. In this paper, we have developed the estimation system using the PD & SD testing. Those approach has been very successful applied to the various practical insulator.

CoAP 기반 센서네트워크를 위한 SWoT 서비스 탐색 (SWoT Service Discovery for CoAP-Based Sensor Networks)

  • IoT 기반 센서네트워크에서 사용자 또는 센서노드가 원하는 서비스에 접근하기 위해서는 기본적으로 서비스 탐색이 요구된다. 기존의 서비스 탐색 관련 연구는 중앙집중적인 Resource Directory(RD) 서버나 P2P 방식을 이용한다. 그러나 이러한 방식들은 point-of-failure나 서비스 탐색 메시지 플러딩(flooding)을 초래한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 CoAP 기반 서비스 탐색 방식에 Social Web of Things(SWoT) 개념을 접목함으로써 기존 방식의 단점을 극복하고 소셜 네트워크 서비스(SNS)를 바탕으로 키워드 기반 탐색과 위치 기반 탐색 등의 기능을 새롭게 추가하여 편의성을 제고하였다. 제안하는 SWoT 서비스 탐색 기술의 검증을 위해 테스트베드를 구축하여 시험하고 평가하였다.

  • 정보통신기술이 발전하면서 방송 통신 융합(Convergence)의 시대가 되었다. 방송 통신 융합의 대표적인 서비스로 iCOD(internet Contents On Demand)가 있다. 이는 초고속 인터넷을 이용하여 정보 서비스, 동영상 콘텐츠 및 방송 등을 텔레비전 수상기로 제공하는 서비스이다. 그러나 이 서비스는 다른 채널의 방송 정보를 검색 하려면 다른 방송의 스트림을 다시 분석해야 한다는 문제점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 iCOD 방송 서비스를 단말에서 효율적으로 검색하고 선택하는 것을 지원하기 위하여 iCOD 용 방송 스트림으로부터 SI(Service Information) 정보를 추출하여 SD&S(Service Discovery and Selection) 기반 iPG(internet Program Guide) XML문서를 생성하고 멀티 캐스트로 전송하는 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.

  • SOME/IP-SD 통신 프로토콜을 활용하여 네트워크 시스템의 데이터 전송 효율성을 향상시키고, 서비스 발견 및 동적 서비스 구성을 통해 시스템의 유연성과 확장성을 증대하는 방법을 탐색한다. SOME/IP-SD 는 네트워크 수신자의 요청에 따라 데이터를 전송, 불필요한 데이터 소비를 최소화함으로써 통신 효율을 극대화한다. 또한, Plug & Play 방식을 통해 네트워크의 변경 사항을 자동으로 인식하고 연결하여 서비스 관리 자동화에 기여한다. 이 프로젝트는 Renesas Electronics 의 RA6M3 MCU 보드를 사용하여 e2 studio 개발 환경에서 구현되었으며, 이를 통해 네트워크 관리 간소화 및 차량 시스템의 성능과 안전성 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 아날로그방송에서 디지털방송의 전환은 국내에서 뿐만 아니라 국제적인 흐름으로, 국내는 2013년도 100%의 디지털방송을 목표로 하고 있다. 현재 디지털 방송의 중심역할을 하는 HD(High Definition) 영상포맷은 방송 및 영화분야에서 점차적으로 확대되고 있으며, 다양한 캠코더 및 편집시스템들은 빠르게 아날로그에서 디지털로 전환되어 현재 SD(Standard Definition)포맷 뿐 만 아니라 HD포맷 및 2K, 4K 등 다양한 영상포맷으로의 촬영 및 편집을 지원하고 있다. 오늘날까지 촬영단계에서 주로 사용되는 테이프 방식의 영상 저장시스템은 점차적으로 테이프 없이 영상데이터를 저장하는 테이프리스 시스템으로 발전되고 있으며, 따라서 본 연구에서는 테이프리스 캠코더인 Sony PMW-EX3로 촬영된 HD포맷의 영상압축 방식에 대하여 살펴보고 이를 비선형 편집 시스템인 Avid Media Composer에서의 효과적인 활용방안에 대해 살펴보았다.
