There have been many researches on educational effects and efficient education methods related to Informatics education for computational thinking. However, while the one of the human models specified in the national curriculum focuses on self-directed career development ability, research on Informatics education from the viewpoint of career education is deficient. This study aimed to analyze the effects of Informatics education on science high school students' career development ability and suggest implications. As a result, not the students' career recognition and career search ability, but also career choice and preparation also improved. However, it was analyzed that there is a significant difference according to the gender and the completion of the middle school Informatics education. This study is expected to contribute to the necessity of Informatics education and the direction of Informatics education research from the viewpoint of career education.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between professional nursing values and career preparation behaviors in senior nursing students. Method: The sample consisted of 199 nursing students before getting jobs who attended a nursing vocational college in Daegu and a nursing department of a university in J city of Chungcheongbuk-do. The data were collected from the first of May to the first of June in 2010. Results: The mean score was 106.76 for professional nursing values. The highest reported score of the nursing professional values domains was professionalism of nursing and was followed by nursing practical role and professional self-concept. The mean score was 42.66 for career preparation behavior. There was alow correlation between professional nursing values and career preparation behaviors. Conclusion: This finding suggests nursing students have differences from career preparation behaviors according to viewpoints about nursing as a professional job. Therefore, it is necessary to develop new curriculum and reinforce existing education for developing of professional nursing values. Moreover, nursing education institutes should set up educational objectives related to their general characteristics for improving career preparation behavior.

The purpose of this study is to understand the effect of career locus of control on university students' career decision efficacy. For this purpose, it performed a questionnaire survey analysis on 476 university students in I city. According to the results of the analysis, the first is that there were not the statistically significant differences of career locus of control and career decision efficacy for subjects' background variables. The second is that it found the statistically significant co-relationship between career locus of control and career decision efficacy. Lastly, it found that career locus of control has positive effect on career decision efficacy. Given the results of the analysis, the inner career locus factors of control have strong effects on career search and career decision, and career decision efficacy played an important role on career related decision making and career coaching. In this point, it is required to perform more studies and analyses on career locus of control and career decision efficacy and on various career coaching programs in the future.

This research, targeting the college students majoring in health administration science in Kwangju & Chonnam, is aimed at understanding their satisfaction with majors according to general, relationship, consciousness, and subject satisfaction, and looking into the correlation between the satisfaction and further career choices. This research set the 270 prospective graduates its study subjects based on convenience sampling. It was found that the number of students who want to choose their further major-related careers as medical records technician was greatest among the research subjects, of whom 62.4% were satisfied with their major subject while there existed a little difference in major satisfaction by further career. In addition, the students who want to choose the career of medical records filer showed higher satisfaction with their major subject than those who want to choose other-major-related careers. In general characteristics among the influential factors of major satisfaction in major-related career choices of a students of health administration science department, the 2nd year classes' major satisfaction was found to be 4.13 times as high as the 3rd year classes while the major satisfaction of the group choosing their major subject spontaneously was found to be 8.04 times as significantly high as the group choosing their major subject involuntarily. As a result of the analysis of the influence on major satisfaction among the sub-province of major satisfaction, it was found that the group having high consciousness satisfaction was 3.93 times as significantly high as the group having low consciousness satisfaction. A logistic analysis of the influence of major satisfaction on further career choices, the major satisfaction of those wishing to choose their major-related career as a medical records technician was 2.06 times as significantly high as those who didn't choose a medical records filer as their career choice while the major satisfaction of the group spontaneously choosing the career of a medical records technician was 4.51 times as significantly high as that of the group involuntarily choosing the career of a medical records technician. There should be a plan for enhancing major satisfaction by each major-related career in consideration of the characteristics of health administration science department having diverse career choices.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of career development competency recognized by the specialists who major in food service currently. To achieve the purpose of this study, the five two-year-courses technical colleges in Kyeonggi-do, Daejeon, Daegu Metropolitan City which include food service department were selected. And total 280 samples of enrolled students were extracted and the 256 students were treated statistically besides the 24 students who responded dishonestly. The analysis results are as follows. First, the male students showed partially higher career development competencies than female students. Second, the second grade students showed partially higher career development competency than the first grade students. Third, the specialists whose family income is over 5 million won showed the highest career development competency, and the students in 3-5 million won and less than 3 million won followed them in order. Fourth, there were differences in competencies of lifelong learning, networking, collecting and utilizing the job information, and self-understanding, and career transition, and the specialists with more qualifications showed higher competency than those who with less qualifications. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a various career education program to enhance career development competencies of food service specialist by individual characteristic.

Many empirical studies are conducted in regards to protean career or boundaryless career. The concept and the notion of protean career and boundaryless career has extended so far. Yet, the gap in the literature exists. Previous literature focused on the relationship among protean career, boundaryless career, and subjective career success, but examined little about the influence of protean career and boundaryless career on positive career attitude or future learning readiness. Therefore, this study explores the moderating effect of supporting policy of career development among protean career orientation, boundaryless career, positive career attitude, and future learning readiness. There was moderating effect of supporting policy of career development among the relationships of protean career orientation and future learning readiness; the relationships of boundaryless career and future learning readiness. The moderating effect of supporting policy of career development implies that the intention of career development in self-directed way and learning are related. In addition, The role of HRD/HRM department which takes initiatives in career development can affect the learning readiness for future among workers.

This study aims to investigate the mediating effect of career adaptability in the relationship between strengths knowledge and occupational engagement for nursing students. The participants of this study were 284 nursing students in three Universities in G City, J Province. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis. Also mediation analysis was performed according to the Baron and Kenny method and Sobel test. The career adaptability showed a partial mediating effect between the strengths knowledge and the occupational engagement(Z=6.66, p<.001). The positive the strengths knowledge(β=.24, p<.001), the higher the career adaptability(β=.49, p<.001), the higher the occupational engagement level, and the explanatory power to explain occupational engagement was 47%. In order to increase the level of career engagement of nursing students, specific behavioral strategies for fostering career adaptability as well as cognitive guidance strategies that enable individuals to recognize their strengths in career-related education and counseling are needed.
Purpose: This study was investigated the effects of culinary and foodservice major selection motive and work value on the major satisfaction, career search efficacy and career exploration behavior of college students. Methods: Survey comprising total 53 questions including 8 for major selection motive, 8 for work value, 6 for major satisfaction, 20 for career search efficacy, 5 for career exploration was distributed to 400 college students majoring in culinary or foodservice. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression were conducted using SPSS Statistics (ver. 21.0). Organization of concept and analyses of the relationship between variables based on the advanced study and database is essential. Research model based on the theory and analysis of the extracted data was established; and subsequently, the proof relations between the variables were analysed. Results: The study results indicated that, only intrinsic work values among personal motivation and work values were significant. This is because personal motivation and intrinsic work values are related to subjects' aptitudes, interests, talents, and future professions when students choose their majors. Therefore, interest, abilities, achievement, high understanding, and satisfactory schooling are important factors. Conclusion: This study has newly expanded the research on career search behavior to include psychological factors and cognitive and attitudinal factors. We also determined competitive operations that enhance students' major satisfaction, career search efficiency, and career search behavior.
This study aims to analyze the research trends of female engineering students focused on domestic research and to suggest implications for future researches. For this purpose, 67 domestic researches (academic articles & graduate theses) which were published since 1996 were collected using the academic research information service and the National Assembly Library search service. All of these 67 researches have been reviewed and classified according to analytical criteria such as publication year, research method, journal's research field and research subjects. Our findings show that firstly, related research on female engineering students has been growing since 1996. Secondly, there were more researches of both academic journals and graduate theses, using quantitative method compared to those with the other research methods. Thirdly, the research themes could be classified as follows: gender-awareness, female engineering students'(hereafter, FES) psychological variables, customized education for FES, career related variables, FES's properties and counselling for them. Fourth, regarding the result of analysis on the research topic, 41.79% of the researches were related to FES's 'career' related factors as well as diverse correlates. Based on these findings, it is necessary to continue studying on FES using various research methods as well as adopting different research perspectives. Also, practical and educational treatments for FES are required with particular attention to their individual variables.
Nowadays college students in South Korea experience much stress related to job search due to the continuing unemployment crisis. Particularly, students who hold a degree in Security Services suffer from such stress at a higher level compared to other students because of the specific qualifications sought by potential employers. Therefore, this study investigates the effect of the stress related to job search on career maturity among the students of Security Services. The authors surveyed 250 students of Security Services from 7 colleges in Gyeonggi, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang provinces. Before distributing the questionnaire, its validity and reliability were assessed through the consultations with experts in the related fields. The data collected was examined via various statistical methods, including factor, reliability, correlation, and regression analyses using SPSS 20.0. The results indicated that socio-demographic characteristics affected job search stress and career maturity. Additionally, it was found that the job search-related stress of the students influenced their career maturity. To illustrate, job search stress and career maturity were positively related. Based on the results of the analyses, the authors confirm that the students of Security Services are suffering from a high level of stress resulting from job search, which impacts their career selection. Finally, policy implications are discussed, including alleviating the stress by providing diversified career choices to the students.
