  • The crystal structure of nicotinic acid hydrochloride has been determined by two-dimensional x-ray method. The unit cell is monoclinic with a = 7.21 ${\AA}$, b = 6.69 ${\AA}$, c = 7.54 ${\AA}$, ${\beta}=100^{\circ}$, space group $C{\frac{2}{2}}-P2_1$, and contains two formula units. Weissenberg diagrams have been taken along the a, b and c axes with Cu K${\alpha}$ radiation and the positions of the atoms have been fixed by means of two dimensional Patterson syntheses, a Fourier projection along the b-axis and trial and error method. The bond lengths are: pyridine ring C-C = 1.38, 1.39 ${\AA}$, C-N = 1.34, 1.36 ${\AA}$, carboxyl group $C_4-C_6$ = 1.46 ${\AA}$, $C_6-O_1$ = l.33 ${\AA}$, $C_6-O_2$ = 1.19 ${\AA}$. The ring nitrogen atom may be regarded as forming bifurcated hydrogen bond with an oxygen atom $O_2$ of one neighbouring molecule and with a neighbouring chlorine atom, being linked by forming a hydrogen bond with an other oxygen atom $O_1$ of above mentioned neighbouring molecule, in such a way that chains parallel to the c-axis are formed.

  • Mobile devices are becoming powerful enough to realize augmented reality (AR) application. This paper introduces two AR methods to estimate an environmental illumination distribution of a scene. In the first method, we extract the lighting direction and intensity from input images captured with a front-side camera of a mobile device, using its orientation sensor. The second method extracts shadow regions cast by three dimensional (3D) AR marker of known shape and size. Because previous methods examine per pixel shadow intensity, their performances are much affected by the number of sampling points, positions, and threshold values. By using a simple binary operation between the previously clustered shadow regions and the threshold real shadow regions, we can compute efficiently their relative area proportions according to threshold values. This area-based method can overcome point sampling problem and threshold value selection. Experiment results demonstrate that the proposed methods generate natural image with multiple smooth shadows in real-time.

  • The effects of the water extract of beef shank bones on the physical and sensory characteristics of cooked rice for JeonJu Bibimbap were investigated. Five kinds of cooked rice were prepared with 0%(control), 20%, 40%, 60%, and 100% of the beef shank bones extract. An increase in the beef shank bones extract concentration was associated with a lower moisture content of the cooked rice. The color(L, b value) of the cooked rice prepared with the beef shank bones extract became gradually darker during storage at $60^{\circ}C$. In regards to the textural properties of the cooked rice, the hardness increased with the addition of the beef shank bones extract and chewiness was changed in a similar pattern to that of hardness. However, the adhesiveness significantly decreased. In the sensory evaluation, the cooked rice prepared with 20 and 40% of the beef shank bones extract had the best sensory quality for JeonJu Bibimbap.

  • Solution to the diffusion layer for the first order reaction at a droping mercury electrode (D.M.E.) is presented. Equations are derived for polarographic currents for the reactions at the D.M.E. A factor which is applicable to the D.M.E. is derived, when we use the equations of the polarographic currents for the reactions at a plane electrode(P.E.), and the rate constants of the backward reactions are negligibly small. Polarographic currents from a combination of diffusions and reactions are obtained at the D.M.E. with special approximation. Rate constant for the reaction of ferrous ion with hydrogen-peroxide is determined at the D.M.E.,using the data of Kolthoff and Perry. The agreement of the equation with the data of Kolthoff and Perry for the kinetic current of ferric ion in the presence of hydrogen-peroxide is good. Ratios of diffusion layer at the D.M.E. to the diffusion layer at the P.E. are discussed and show that, when the rate constants of the backward reactions for the first order reactions are larger than 1/0.05 sec-1. and drop-time about 3 sec., these ratioes are about one.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the trend of the prize money and the performance factors, based on the data of 1,000 pro golf players provided by KLPGA(Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association) for the past 10 years from 2008 to 2017. First, in terms of the prize money, it increased a lot if we compare the data from 2008 and from 2017. However, it is still disproportionally favorable to the top players and is extremely disadvantageous to the middle-low players. Therefore, it is necessary to considerately care middle-low players. Second, in terms of performance factors, the players' skill has been improved steadily based on all of the factors considered: the scoring average, average putting, the birdie average, par save, par break, and recovery for the past 10 years from 2008 to 2017. Despite the fact that both players' performance and income have increased, it is prominent that the inequality between the players in terms of prize money becomes severe, which should be mitigated by external systematic support to maintain the current level of world-class players of Korea.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of servicescapes in Korean restaurants on customers' experiential value, pleasure feeling and customer satisfaction. Based on a total of 550 samples obtained from empirical research, this study reviewed the reliability and fitness of research model using the Amos program. The relationships hypothesized in the model were tested simultaneously by using a structural equation model (SEM). The proposed model provided an adequate fit to the data, $\chi^2=406.097$ (df 130), p<.001, GFI .915, AGFI .889, RMR .042, NFI .955, CFI .969, RMSEA .062. SEM results showed that the servicescape showed a positive significant effect on customers' experiential value ($\beta=.808$, t=15.171, p<.001), and customers' experiential value had a positive significant effect on pleasure feeling ($\beta=.756$, t=10.616, p<.001). Also, customer's experiential value ($\beta=.391$, t=8.579, p<.001) and pleasure feeling ($\beta=.573$, t=13.091, p<.001) had a positive significant effects on customer satisfaction. Analysis of mediating roles showed that, the effect of servicescapes in Korean restaurants on customers' pleasure feeling was perfectly mediated by the customers' experiential value. Limitations of this study and future research directions are also discussed.

  • The objective of this study was to analyze the actual situation of ethics management in foodservice industry and its employees’ recognition on corporate ethics management. Self-administrated questionnaires were completed by 342 employees, and the data were analyzed by frequency, chi-square, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results showed that the employees consider the corporate ethics management to be very important and it has been much more improved in foodservice industry. However, they are still skeptical about the continuous and consistent practice of ethics management. In addition, the survey revealed that the ethics management was regarded to be critically important to improve the value and the culture of the corporation. It also showed that the recognition of the improvement of ethics management in foodservice industry has been affected by the work environment of the whole society too. The result concluded that the taking the initiative by CEO is the most important factor for introducing the ethics management, while the propagation of ethics management requires the volition of the employees inside the corporation.

  • The influence of the first coating layer on the properties of the second coating layer is reported. For various model coating composition, ratios of first and second coating weights are used to generate coating layers. The void volume, pore size distribution and light scatter coefficient of the coatings are measured. In some cases, the fine material from the second layer seems to penetrate the first layer to reduce the void fraction of the total system. Rapid setting coating, for example thin layers on porous first layer tends to generate porous coating layers.

  • Acrosome reaction usually occures just before fertilization in most mammals, and it has been known that $Ca^{2+}$ plays an important role in the acrosome reaction and albumin also known as a critical factor for spermatozoan activities. The present study has been designed in order to observe maturing processes of the spermatozoa occurred in the ductus epididymidis and to clarify the relationships of $Ca^{2+}$ concentrations with those processes, and to compare the enzymatic activities of ATPase and the lactate dehydrogenase of the spermatozoa in accordance with time before and after the spermatozoan maturation. From the results, we can confirm that most of the bat spermatozoa come to maturity within the epididymal cauda and may pass through capacitation outside the cauda. However it is expected to be studied that the fluctuation of spermatogenic activity depending on temperature changes and their relationships with the ductus epididymidis and their mutual influences.
