A Study on Span to Depth Ratio for Minimum Thickness of One-Way Slab

  • A Computer-based iterative method is provided for the calculation of minimum thickness values for one-way slabs to satisfy the maximum permissible limits given in the ACI Building Code. An algorithm includes the effects of cracking and time-dependent effects due to creep and shrinkage. Comparison of the calculated minimum thickness values with the current ACI limits is conducted to investigate limitations of the current tabulated minimum thickness. which are constant to a range of design conditions.

3성분계 유기용제의 인화특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Flammability for Organic Solvents of Three Component Systems)

  • This study was accomplished by measuring the lower and upper flash point with air blowing method and grasping the characteristics of flammability for the three component systems, which are made up of the Benzene-Toluene-o-Xylene and Methylethylketone-Toluene-o-Xylene. These three component systems are widely used in the various industrial fields together with the development of industry. The results are as follows ; 1 ) Isothermal line is plotted on the triangular diagram for flash points determined in each solutions. From this line, the mixed compositions which indicated the same lower and upper flash points in each different composition could be read on this diagram, if the composition of mixtures are known. 2) Lower and upper explosion limits obtained from the flash points determined for the three component solution are compared with the value calculated from Le Chatelier's law. Especially the lower explosion limits are in a good agreement with the calculated values.

화물차량의 사고위험도 분석 및 통행속도 제한기준 정립 (Establishing Traffic Speed Limits Standard and Accident Risk Analysis of Truck)

  • This paper presents the traffic speed limit of heavy vehicles at each wind velocity region, which is based on their accident risk analysis under cross-wind. The variables for the accident risk analysis are overall height, overall length, intake weight, and friction coefficient of the road surface. It was confirmed from analysis results that the risk of overturning increased with higher overall height and length, and the risk of sliding decreased with higher intake weight. The risk of sliding was largest at the friction coefficient of 0.1, and the risk of overturning was lagest at friction coefficient more than 0.25. Finally, traffic speed limit was proposed by using the accident risk analysis.

  • The prototype of Korean high speed train (KHST), composed of two power cars, two motorized cars and three trailer cars, has been designed, fabricated and tested by the domestic researchers. In this paper, the body vibration has been reviewed from the viewpoint of the vehicle's safety and the vibration limits for components and sub-assemblies mounted on the car-body using by the experimental method. The on-line test of KHST has been carried out up to 260 km/h in the KTX line and proved that KHST has no problems in the vehicle's safety and the vibration limits at this speed. And the characteristics of body vibrations has been predicted at 300 km/h and 350 km/h by fitting curve about the measured acceleration signals.

파라핀족탄화수소의 폭발하한계의 온도의존성 예측 (Prediction of Temperature Dependence of Lower Explosive Limits for Paraffinic Hydrocarbons)

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the temperature dependence of the lower explosive limit(LEL) at elevated temperature. The temperature dependence of the lower explosive limit is one of the significant indices of flammability and combustibility. By using the literature data, the new equations for predicting the temperature dependence of the lower explosive limits for paraffinic hydrocarbons are proposed. The values calculated by the proposed equations were a good agreement with the literature data. It is hoped eventually that this proposed equations will support the use of the prediction for the lower explosive limit and the flash points of the flammable mixtures.

  • The while, PD source detection in the oil TR was the level of the planar source detection. and it is to respected scientific research. The planar source detection technique had limits which have difficulties finding out the point of deterioration generation. In this study, our purpose is a development of PD source detection technique with Three-Dimensional using a principle and a technique of the planar source location.

Heavy Metal Uptake by Balloon Flower Together with Investigating Soil Properties and Heavy Metal Concentrations in the Cultivated Soils

  • Soil properties and heavy metal (HM) concentrations in the field soils where balloon flowers (Platycodon grandiflorum, BF) were cultivated, were investigated together with HM (Cd, Cu, Pb, and Zn) accumulation by the BF roots. Basically, in most soils examined (51-97% among 65 samples), the chemical properties including soil pH, organic matter, available-P, and exchangeable cation contents appeared to be lower than the optimal ranges for balloon flower cultivation. There were no samples exceeding the standard limits for HM in soils. Instead, the total HM concentration levels in soils appeared to be maintained at around background levels for general soil in Korea. This implied that elevated HM accumulation in the soils caused by any possible input sources was unlikely. Even though the BF cultivated soils were not contaminated by HM, it was appeared that substantial amount of Cd was accumulated in BF roots with 1.5% and 35% roots samples exceeding the standard limits legislated for BF root ($0.81mg\;kg^{-1}DW$) and herbal plants ($0.3mg\;kg^{-1}DW$), respectively. This implied that the soil HM standard limits based on the total concentration does not reflect well the metal accumulation by plants and also it is likely that the Cd standard limits for BF and herbal plants is too restrict.

쌍줄비계 작업발판 안전기준에 따른 사용 실태조사 (Survey on Work Platform on Double Scaffold by Safety Standards)

  • Work platform is temporary material that many workers use in construction field, but many workers construct and use the work platform without considering safety standards, workers who have not the knowledge of safety standards construct the work platform in weakness and use the work platform in unstable, According to the statistics in 2009, 1230 people were injured at the work platform. Among them, victims by falling account for about 77% and mostly lead to fatal injuries. we have studied and survey about the safety or danger of the work platform(set limits to duble scaffold) in construction field and about how many workers observe safety standards of the work platform. According to the result of this survey, 24%~100%(average : 68%) of the work platform in survey is not observe the safety standards.
