  • The maintenance of the turnout is composed of signal field and track field on business, the electrical and mechanical field on system. adjustment and maintenance carry forward through coordination with these fields. In the case of turnout equipment used in a first phase of Seoul-Busan high-speed train, it is treated by classifying as mechanical adjustments and electrical adjustments. Mechanical adjustment is conducted with focus on fine adjustment to meet maintenance standards limits(1mm or less) about interval of basic rail and tongue rail about each part of track transition equipment. This refers to mechanical adjustments performed mainly with physical changes and movement characteristics between basic rail and tongue rail by considering the overall environment surrounding track side of section installed track transition equipment. However, these series of maintenance are conducted in state that high-speed train is not in the process from 1 am to 4 am at night, but common workers for maintenance are not familiar with the operation and checking about various situation, and the workers are even insufficient. Maintenance training using mixed reality is conducted in the place of business, we tried to overcome several problems of safety and time reduction through this training.

  • Currently the international flight passenger visit at Incheon International Airport increased 12.4% compared to January 2017. Such increase affects on the congestion of an airport and the security check is one of the most congested area. There is a prejudice that airport security is not related to the airport service and is only a type of control that limits the quality of service. However, considering the huge impact that airport security agents have on passenger move within the airport, trustworthy, fast and kind service at airport security check is one of the most important part of airport service quality improvement. This research is an importance performance analysis of Incheon International Airport security service passenger satisfaction and its significance using IPA method. This research will contribute to the improvement of airport operation and service quality, by proving the relation between airport security and service.

  • The stability of the two-phase flow in a heated channel is of great importance in the design and operation of the boilers and light water nuclear reactors, because it can cause flow oscillations and lead to a violation of thermal limits with resultant overheating of the channels and cladding. This paper presents a systematic evaluation to the variation effects of the basic four (4) dimensionless parameters in a homogeneous equilibrium model. The flow stability is examined on the ground of static characteristic curves. The complicated transfer function of flow dynamics which gives consideration to the transport lag of density wave is derived, and the transient flow stability is analysed by applying the Nyquist stability criterion in control engineering. The analysis results summed up as follows 1. The coolant flow becomes stable in large friction number and specific flow, while it is unstabale in small friction number and flow. 2. Large phase-change number and Froude number destabilize the two-phase flow, but small numbers stabilize it. The effect to variation of phase-change number is more dominant compared with Froude number. 3. The dynamic analysis is required to hold the sufficient safety of heated channels since only static results does not keep it. The special attention could be payed in the design and operation of heat engines, because the unstaable region exists within the stable boundary at small and middle phase-change number and Froude number.

  • One of the biggest problems affecting bridges is the transverse cracking and deterioration of concrete bridge decks. The causes of early age cracking are primarily attributed to plastic shrinkage, temperature effects, autogenous shrinkage, and drying shrinkage. The cracks can be influenced by material characteristics, casting sequence, formwork, climate conditions, geometry, and time dependent factors. The cracking of bridge decks not only creates unsightly aesthetic condition but also greatly reduces durability. It leads to a loss of functionality, loss of stiffness, and ultimately loss of structural safety. This investigation consists of field, laboratory, and analytical phases. The experimental and field testing investigate the early age transverse cracking of bridge decks and evaluate the use of sealant materials. The research identifies suitable materials, for crack sealing, with an ability to span cracks of various widths and to achieve performance criteria such as penetration depth, bond strength, and elongation. This paper also analytically examines the effect of a wide range of parameters on the development of cracking such as the number of spans, the span length, girder spacing, deck thickness, concrete compressive strength, dead load, hydration, temperature, shrinkage, and creep. The importance of each parameter is identified and then evaluated. Also, the AASHTO Standard Specification limits liveload deflections to L/800 for ordinary bridges and L/1000 for bridges in urban areas that are subject to pedestrian use. The deflection is found to be an important parameter to affect cracking. A set of recommendations to limit the transverse deck cracks in bridge decks is also presented.

  • This study was to determine the effect of cooling parts of the limbs without harm to health. The results provide basic data for the development of clothing which could increase work efficiency and reduce body strain in hot environments. Five male adults took part in the study, conducted in a climate chamber with an ambient temperature of $37^{\circ}C$ and a relative humidity of 50%. The limbs were divided into six areas to be cooled: upper arm, forearm, thigh, calf, hand, and foot. According to preceding studies, permissible cooling safety limits of skin temperature for each part of the body for one-hour were $20^{\circ}C$ on the upper arm, forearm, thigh, and calf, and $23^{\circ}C$ on the hand and foot. For this reason, cooling the skin of each region was carried out at the above mentioned temperatures. In conclusion, cooling the hand and foot reduced perspiration, rectal temperature and heart rate. Therefore, the heat stress of workers exposed to hot environments would be reduced by decreased subjective sensations of heat and increased comfort. The effectiveness of cooling was better on the arm than on the leg.

  • A reactor protection system (RPS) plays the roles of generating the reactor trip signal and the engineered safety features (ESF) actuation signal when the monitored plant processes reach predefined limits. A Korean project group is developing a new digitalized RPS and the Cabinet Operator Module (COM) of the RPS which is used for the RPS integrity testing and monitoring by an equipment operator. A flat panel display (FPD) with a touch screen capability is provided as a main user interface for the RPS operation. To support the RPS COM user interface design, actually the FPD screen design, we developed a user interface style guide because the system designer could not properly deal with the many general human factors design guidelines. To develop the user interface style guide, various design guideline gatherings, a walk-though with a video recorder, guideline selection with respect to user interface design elements, determination of the properties of the design elements, discussion with the system designers, and a conversion of the properties into a screen design were carried out. This paper describes the process in detail and the findings in the course of the style guide development.

  • Tritium behavior in the solid breeder blanket is one of the key factors in determining tritium self-sufficiency, as well as safety, of fusion reactors. Recently, a model has been developed to describe the tritium behavior in solid breeder material, which can predict the tritium release and inventory in the blanket. However, the model has limitation to account for tritium solubility effects, mainly existing as LiOT, especially inside the $Li_{2}O$ solid breeder. In order to improve the capability of predicting the LiOT precipitation in $Li_{2}O$ solid breeder, a new logic is developed and integrated in the existing tritium release and inventory calculation code. With the logic developed in this work, the code can have capabilities to analyze tritium release and inventories in $Li_{2}O$ under steady and transient conditions. It can be found that tritium inventory as LiOT is an important mechanism under pulsed operation, and the amount of inventory becomes higher as the tritium generation rate increases and the temperature decreases. Also, the temperature limits for the generation of LiOT precipitation are determined. Therefore the developed logic helps understand the tritium transport mechanism in $Li_{2}O$ solid breeder.

  • Radar is an object-detection system that uses radio waves to determine the range, altitude, direction, or speed of objects. High power amplifier Module is the most critical part of the high-power radar transmitter systems. It can be used to detect aircraft, ships, spacecraft, guided missiles, motor vehicles, weather formations, and terrain. Research related to radar has been conducted in various fields according to improvement of the communication technology. But only performance-originated technology development has been dashed; study concerning environment duality and safety concerning reliability are still insufficient. In general, radar module is exposed to the outside, on the means of moving or fixed in a certain place. It should be guaranteed sufficient immunity for a variety of environmental stresses that can occur in the outdoor. HALT is a great process used for quickly finding failure mechanisms in a hardware design and product. By applying various kinds and extreme level of stresses, we can find the operating limits of products. In thesis, we conducted HALT test of the high power amplifier modules which used in military and automotive radar. After the test, we analyzed environmental weaknesses of high power amplifier modules using conventional construction data.
