Gamma irradiation was applied to red ginseng for improving its quality. Irradiation at 5~7 kGy was effective for sterilizing all contaminated microorganisms of red ginseng. At the dose levels, no significant shanges in physicochemical properties (color, saponin, lipid rancidity and fatty acids etc.) were observed even after 6 months storage. Gamma irradiation was also effective for the improving hygienic quality of packed red ginseng with high moisture content (up to 20%), without any quality deterioration.

The purpose of this study is to develop an insurance system for product quality liability(PQL) by reviewing some legal issues concerning the product liability It is concluded that the purpose and the function of PQL insurance have to be considered with robust experience data for the life of product, quality system of the company, size of company, the number and amount of products produced by a company and the type of company etc. And this article reviews some problems of policy including the possibility of anti-selection and reverse selection.

Contributions of global warming potentials on CFC(Chlorofluorocarbon) and Ozone were calculated by Stefan-Boltzmann's law and environmental effects of its were discussed. As the greenhouse effect on the unit volume of CFC is the most strong in the infrared gases and the destruction of Ozone in stratosphere is also depends on CFC, therefore release of CFC should be prohibited. But the effect of restriction on CFC will be appeared more than 10 years later. Eventhough the Ozone layer is related to global warming, It should be protected because of maitaining food chain mode of life, preventing human disease, for example, cataract, dermatics etc.

Design method for Involute bevel gears is developed. The developed gear design system can design the optimized gear that minimize the number of pinion teeth with face tooth. Method of optimization is MS(matrix search) which is developed from this study. Design variables are pressure angle 20, transmitted power, gear volume, gear ratio, allowable contact stress and allowable bending stress, etc. Design method developed this study can bd applide to the plane, machine tools, automobiles.

This study was carried out to investigate the effect of on temperature control from actuating method, recycling ratio and the position (top, middle and bottom) of set and controlled temperature within the reactor in adiabatic ebullated recycling condition, when the disturbance was occurred. Estimation of the solution were performed numerically using the finite difference method. It was assumed that the reaction is in constant with heat of reaction and the physical properties(density, heat capacity and viscosity, etc) of the reactants are same condition within the reactor.

The Special safety systems are incorporated into the plant design to limit radioactive releases to the public in the event of accident. Wolsung 2 is better builted than Wolsung 1 by 84 design changes for new approval requirements, codes & standards changes and manufacturing changes etc. This paper analysed and discussed the design change items for nuclear reactor safety system and needs development of design engineering for digital protection system.

After constructing master model utilizing CAD data originated by sketch, product NC data for polyurethane foam using digitized master model data. And model cutting is performed utilizing specially developed polyurethane foam cutting tool in machining center. In this study, it is discussed to construct concept of tool offset, method of tool offset and feature tolerance, etc., that is impossible for cutting of the polyurethane foam by CNC machine.

This study describes a computer aided design system on involute gear for power transmition. Input data for gear design are pressure angle $20^{\circ}$, transmitted power, gear volume, gear ratio, addendum ratio of rack, dedendum ratio of rack, edge radius of rack, allowable contact stress and allowable bending stress etc. Bending strength contact strength and scoring are considered as the design constraints. Method of optimization developed this study. The developed gear design system can design the optimized gear that minimize the number of pinion teeth with face tooth.

Approximately normalized control charts, called Q charts, have been given Quesenberry(1991) for charting in process of short-run, job-shop, etc. We consider a Q chart with inspection error for job-shop floor under geometric distribution, which can be used for processes when a fraction nonconforming is very small. Our results would be applied for designing other control charts with inspection error.

In this paper, the u-Service system that is based on location-aware technology is designed for a silver town. It provides services such as emergency call, intelligent elevator operation, and hands-free door access based on the location of the residents with personal device as called smart tag. It can also be applied to other service areas such as the location-aware u-Service for Hospital, high-rising complex building, APT, etc.
