Potential for Dependence on Lisdexamfetamine - In vivo and In vitro Aspects

  • Although lisdexamfetamine is used as a recreational drug, little research exists regarding its potential for dependence or its precise mechanisms of action. This study aims to evaluate the psychoactivity and dependence profile of lisdexamfetamine using conditioned place preference and self-administration paradigms in rodents. Additionally, biochemical techniques are used to assess alterations in the dopamine levels in striatal synaptosomes following administration of lisdexamfetamine. Lisdexamfetamine increased both conditioned place preference and self-administration. Moreover, after administration of the lisdexamfetamine, dopamine levels in the striatal synaptosomes were significantly increased. Although some modifications should be made to the analytical methods, performing high performance liquid chromatography studies on synaptosomes can aid in predicting dependence liability when studying new psychoactive substances in the future. Collectively, lisdexamfetamine has potential for dependence possible via dopaminergic pathway.

  • The railroad facilities are intended for long-term operation as the initial acquisition costs necessary for infrastructure construction are high. Therefore, regular maintenance of railroad facilities is essential, and furthermore, system reliability through systematic performance evaluation is required. In this study, the signal control system of railroad electrical equipment was selected as the subject of research and the performance evaluation target facility selection study was conducted using AHP. The results of the study can contribute to the reliability of the signal control system as well as to the reliability of the railroad system, which is a higher system.

자율주행 자동차 임시운행 허가를 위한 안전 성능 평가 시나리오 (An evaluation scenario of safety performance for extraordinary service permission of autonomous vehicle)

  • This paper presents an evaluation scenario of safety performance for extraordinary service permission of autonomous vehicle driving on a motorway. Based on advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) which is already mass-production, an autonomous vehicle driving on motorway is tested on the public roads and also getting close to mass-production. Before the autonomous vehicle tested, the safety of autonomous driving system should be evaluated based on a proper test scenario. Prior to develop the test scenario, this paper reviews the licensing standards for an autonomous vehicle in California and Nevada, and the international regulations of each ADAS. To develop the scenario, the driving conditions of motorway are categorized into five modes and fundamental evaluation requirements of elements of autonomous driving system are derived. An evaluation scenario, which represents the real driving conditions, has been developed to assess the safety of autonomous vehicle. This scenario has validated by computer simulation using model predictive control (MPC) based autonomous driving algorithm.

국내 학교시설 천장재의 내진성능 분석 (Analysis on the Seismic Performance of Ceiling System in School Buildings)

  • 본 연구는 학교현장의 안전교육 과정에서 학교시설 비구조재 중 위험도가 상대적으로 높은 천장재의 내진성능을 평가하고 대책방안을 제시하는 것이다. 평가도구의 개발을 위하여 본 연구는 다음과 같은 4단계로 진행되었다. 첫 단계에서는 국내 외의 내진성능평가 가이드라인들을 분석하여 주요 천장재의 구성품목과 각 품목별 평가방법들을 조사하고, 두 번째 단계에서는 문헌조사의 결과를 기반으로 주요 품목들의 내진성능 실태를 면밀하게 조사하였다. 세 번째 단계에서는 조사된 천장재 구조를 정량적으로 평가하여 지반 및 지진의 유형에 따른 적정성을 평가하였다. 마지막으로 국내 학교시설 천장재에서 우선적으로 고려되어야 할 내진성능보강 대책방안을 제시하였다.

Evaluation of the Quality of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems Based on Key Performance Indicators in Certified Organizations

  • Background: Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems are becoming more widespread in organizations. Consequently, their effectiveness has become a core topic for researchers. This paper evaluates the performance of the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series 18001 specification in certified companies in Iran. Methods: The evaluation is based on a comparison of specific criteria and indictors related to occupational health and safety management practices in three certified and three noncertified companies. Results: Findings indicate that the performance of certified companies with respect to occupational health and safety management practices is significantly better than that of noncertified companies. Conclusion: Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series 18001-certified companies have a better level of occupational health and safety; this supports the argument that Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems play an important strategic role in health and safety in the workplace.

Developing an Evaluation Tool of RFID-based Traceability Systems

  • Recently, traceability systems are introduced as a new food safety information system. To trace food products efficiently, they must have an automatic identification capability at the individual product level. This capability can be gained through RFID technology. But there is not yet any performance evaluation tool on RFID-based traceability systems (RFID-TS). This study developed an evaluation tool of RFID-TS. To develop the tool, this study considered the objective and the components of RFID-TS as their performance constructs. According to Churchill's paradigm, the tool was established through two stages. The final evaluation tool consisted of four constructs (risk, operational benefits, IS (information system), and network) and nine sub-constructs. Among the four constructs, risk and IS were found as the most important performance constructs through regression analysis. Among the nine sub-constructs, service (which belonged to the IS construct) and economic risk (which belonged to the risk construct) were found as the most important performance sub-constructs.

  • This study is firstly aiming at diagnosing the present problems of evaluating the performance, especially in the field of disaster and safety management, of LGA (Local Government Authorities) in Korea. The study also deals with developing alternatives to solve a series of barrier factors revealed during the evaluation process using System Dynamics. This paper therefore presents literature review including the official documents published by the government and the performance evaluation studies of LGA. Moreover the authors analyze the current practice of the CELG (Combined Evaluation of Local Governments) as performance management, address and map a series of barrier factors in the CELG process to elaborate the CLDs (Causal-Loop Diagrams) and find solutions using system thinking with the CLDs. According to the analysis results, the core barrier factors to overcome is lack of proactive indicators/indices in the current practice of the CLEG. The authors therefore recommend to develop more proactive indicators that leads to avoid difficulties in measuring the LGA output, as well as to lessen the burden in competition for rankings and goal of the displaced.

건물용 고체산화물연료전지 스택 안전성능평가 연구 (Study on safety performance evaluation of stationary SOFC stack)

  • SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) stack 안전성능 평가항목 및 평가절차 도출을 위하여 국내 외 연료전지 관련 규격들을 분석하였으며, 분석을 통해 도출된 시험항목으로 SOFC stack 안전성능 시험을 실시하였다. 시험에 사용된 SOFC stack은 (주)미코사(社)에서 제작된 음극 지지형 2 cell stack(활성면적: $110.25cm^2/cell$)이고, 평가장치는 자체 제작한 SOFC stack 안전성능 평가 장치를 사용하였다. 기밀성능 시험, 전류전압특성 시험, 정격출력 시험 및 부하변동 시험을 실시하였으며, 그 결과 해당 stack의 최대출력은 65.6 W(1.41 V, 46.5 A, $422mA/cm^2$), 정격출력은 62.3 W(1.57 V, 40 A, $363mA/cm^2$)로 나타났으며 가스누출이 없음을 확인하였다. 또한, 부하변동에 대하여 2초 이내에 안정적으로 출력이 유지되는 것을 확인하였다. 이때 운전 온도 $750^{\circ}C$에서 최대부하(40 A) 및 최소부하(8 A)에서의 출력은 각 62 W와 16 W로 측정되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 고체산화물연료전지의 보급화와 안전한 사용 환경을 제공하는데 기여하고자 한다.

자전거 탑승자 대상 자동비상제동장치의 성능평가 시나리오 (Safety Performance Evaluation Scenarios of Autonomous Emergency Braking System for Cyclist Collision)

  • This paper present a performance evaluation scenarios to assess the safety performance of autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system for cyclist collision. To guarantee the safety performance of AEB for cyclist, AEB system should be tested in various scenarios which can be occurred in real driving condition. For this, real-traffic car-to-cyclist collision data are analyzed to classify the real traffic collision scenarios. Using this information, typical car-to-cyclist collision scenarios are selected. Also, in order to develop the detail features of these collision scenarios, several accident cases related with these scenarios are explained. Based on these information, test scenarios which can describe the car-to-cyclist collisions occurred in Korea are proposed. For practicality and feasibility of the test scenarios, proposed scenarios should be designed to assess the safety performance of AEB system effectively. For this, some test scenarios are combined or removed based on the consideration about the effectiveness of each scenario to the assessment of the performance of AEB system. To confirm that the proposed test scenarios are realistic and physically meaningful, simulation is conducted using simple AEB system in proposed test scenarios.
