벼의 안전저장기간 (Safe Storage Period of Paddy under Different Temperature and Moisture Content Conditions)

  • 본 연구는 벼의 함수율 및 온도별 안전저장기간을 구명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 벼의 함수율은 16.1∼22.2%범위에서 4수준, 온도는 10∼3$0^{\circ}C$에서 3수준으로 저장하면서 외관, 발아율, 지방산가를 측정하였고, 안전저장기간의 온도 및 함수율 의존성을 분석하였다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 벼의 발아율은 저장온도가 증가할수록, 함수율이 높을수록 급격하게 저하한 반면, 지방산가는 저장기간에 따라 증가하였으나 온도보다는 함수율에 의한 영향이 크게 나타났다. 벼의 온도 및 함수율이 높을수록 변색립 및 곰팡이는 빨리 발현되었으며, 함수율 16.1%에서는 온도가 높아도 저장기간 내에 부패현상은 나타나지 않았다. 발아율, 지방산가 및 외관에 의한 저장가능기간 중 최소가 되는 저장기간으로 온도 및 함수율에 따른 안전저장기간을 제시하였다.

  • The need for extended storage of used nuclear fuel is increasing globally as disposition schedules for used fuel are pushed further into the future. This is creating a situation where dry storage of used fuel may need to be extended beyond normal regulatory licensing periods. While it is generally accepted that used fuel in dry storage will remain in a safe condition, there is little data that demonstrate used fuel performance in dry storage environments for long periods of time. This is especially true for high burnup used fuel. This paper discusses a technical approach that defines a process that develops the technical basis for demonstrating the safety of used fuel over extended periods of time.

  • This study is on safety improvement measures through analysis of accident cases during plant storage tank construction. Storage tank is a general term for artificial ground facility constructed to store oil, water, gas, and other chemicals. Some companies have clustered storage tanks (tank farm). The construction methods vary according to the component and types of fluids. Because most of the construction procedures include lifting heavy weight materials using heavy construction equipment and are carried out at high places, storage tank construction contains more risk factors than normal aerial construction. Recently, major accidents such as storage tank collapse have occurred often, and cost many lives due to the characteristics of the structure. In this study we would like to analyze the cause of these accidents and propose measures to improve safety.

Safe clinical photography: best practice guidelines for risk management and mitigation

  • Clinical photography is an essential component of patient care in plastic surgery. The use of unsecured smartphone cameras, digital cameras, social media, instant messaging, and commercially available cloud-based storage devices threatens patients' data safety. This paper Identifies potential risks of clinical photography and heightens awareness of safe clinical photography. Specifically, we evaluated existing risk-mitigation strategies globally, comparing them to industry standards in similar settings, and formulated a framework for developing a risk-mitigation plan for avoiding data breaches by identifying the safest methods of picture taking, transfer to storage, retrieval, and use, both within and outside the organization. Since threats evolve constantly, the framework must evolve too. Based on a literature search of both PubMed and the web (via Google) with key phrases and child terms (for PubMed), the risks and consequences of data breaches in individual processes in clinical photography are identified. Current clinical-photography practices are described. Lastly, we evaluate current risk mitigation strategies for clinical photography by examining guidelines from professional organizations, governmental agencies, and non-healthcare industries. Combining lessons learned from the steps above into a comprehensive framework that could contribute to national/international guidelines on safe clinical photography, we provide recommendations for best practice guidelines. It is imperative that best practice guidelines for the simple, safe, and secure capture, transfer, storage, and retrieval of clinical photographs be co-developed through cooperative efforts between providers, hospital administrators, clinical informaticians, IT governance structures, and national professional organizations. This would significantly safeguard patient data security and provide the privacy that patients deserve and expect.

  • Energy storage/conversion has become crucial not only to meet the present energy demand but also more importantly to sustain the modern society. Particularly, electrical energy storage is critical not only to support electronic, vehicular and load-levelling applications but also to efficiently commercialize renewable energy resources such as solar and wind. While Li-ion batteries are being intensely researched for electric vehicle applications, there is a pressing need to seek for new battery chemistries aimed at stationary storage systems. In this aspect, Zn-ion batteries offer a viable option to be utilized for high energy and power density applications since every intercalated Zn-ion yields a concurrent charge transfer of two electrons and thereby high theoretical capacities can be realized. Furthermore, the simplicity of fabrication under open-air conditions combined with the abundant and less toxic zinc element makes aqueous Zn-ion batteries one of the most economical, safe and green energy storage technologies with prospective use for stationary grid storage applications. Also, Zn-ion batteries are very safe for next-generation technologies based on flexible, roll-up, wearable implantable devices the portable electronics market. Following this advantages, a wide range of approaches and materials, namely, cathodes, anodes and electrolytes have been investigated for Zn-ion batteries applications to date. Herein, we review the progresses and major advancements related to aqueous. Zn-ion batteries, facilitating energy storage/conversion via $Zn^{2+}$ (de)intercalation mechanism.

  • Blade pitch control system monitors and adjusts angle of the blades and controls rotation speed of blades. This paper shows 2MW pitch system hardware and electric part. Blade pitch system consists of pitch drive, gear box, motor and energy storage. Fieldbus is base on CANopen protocol. Fail-Safe system moves the blades to a safety position in case of any fault condition. The super capacitor energy storage provides emergency back up to the Pitch servo driver during feathering the blades. This paper studied Blade pitch servo driver and a bi-directional DC-DC converter for fail-safe system.

안전한 화약류 저장을 위한 순폭 실험 연구 (A Study on the Gap Test for Safe Storage of Explosives)

  • 화약류 저장소는 내부 폭발 시 구조물에 가해지는 영향을 최소화하기 위해 내벽과 일정 거리 이격하여 화약류를 저장하고, 예기치 못한 폭발에 나머지 폭약의 순폭을 방지해야 한다. 따라서 안전한 화약류 저장을 위해 저장소 내부에 폭약의 분할 배치를 모사하여 순폭 실험을 진행하였다. 본 연구에서는 에멀젼 폭약 사이의 이격거리, 배치를 달리 적용하여 직경의 2배(2D)에서 순폭되고, 2.5배(2.5D)에서 불폭됨을 확인하였다. 순폭도와 화약류 저장소 크기를 감안하여 폭약량 3kg을 설정하였고 다양한 배치 변화에 따른 순폭실험 결과 대부분 불폭되어 해당 배치 적용 시 안전성을 확인하였다.

  • This study was carried out in order to investigate the condition of storage and to evaluate preference of supplementary foods for infants using Korean foods. Thirty-four different kinds of supplementary foods were developed and fourteen representative ones were selected to be analyzed. A safety storage assay and sensory evaluation were conducted. The results are as follows: 1. In the safety storage assay, the microbiological quality of the products was good during the 13 day-storage in refrigerator. After 14 days, the total plate counts in the products were low and were determined safe. During the 17 day-storage in refrigerator, coliform was not found. 2. In the sensory evaluation, fruit products scored high in acceptability and cow liver products scored low.

초음파 오일 스러지 처리 시스템 개발을 위한 기초 연구 (A Basic Study on the Development of Oily Sludge Treatment System by Ultrasonic Waves)

  • All crude oil carries a little of water, sand, and mineral sediment molecules tightly bounded with hydrocarbons. The result is the gradual precipitation of these heavier elements into thick, granular petroleum by products known as crude oil sludge. The oily sludges in ship tanks and in storage facilities have to be treated efficiently in order to keep the security and the capacity of storage facilities, to protect a serious environmental pollution, and to retrieve lost resource. The oily sludge treatment system should be designed to satisfy requirements mentioned in safe work condition. As a basic study, in this paper, an oily sludge treatment system by ultrasonic waves was proposed. Then, the features of ultrasonic energy and recovery of sludge with ultrasonic waves are investigated by experiments. As results, we found that ultrasonic waves are a new energy to flow oil sludge environment-friendly in safe work condition. In addition, it was shown that ultrasonic energy is more efficient than thermal energy in treating oil sludge, and that the volume of wastes for disposal is reduced remarkably.
