A Feasibility Study on RUNWAY GEN-2 for Generating Realistic Style Images

  • Runway released an updated version, Gen-2, in March 2023, which introduced new features that are different from Gen-1: it can convert text and images into videos, or convert text and images together into video images based on text instructions. This update will be officially open to the public in June 2023, so more people can enjoy and use their creativity. With this new feature, users can easily transform text and images into impressive video creations. However, as with all new technologies, comes the instability of AI, which also affects the results generated by Runway. This article verifies the feasibility of using Runway to generate the desired video from several aspects through personal practice. In practice, I discovered Runway generation problems and propose improvement methods to find ways to improve the accuracy of Runway generation. And found that although the instability of AI is a factor that needs attention, through careful adjustment and testing, users can still make full use of this feature and create stunning video works. This update marks the beginning of a more innovative and diverse future for the digital creative field.

  • One major safety issue of surface operations is the occurrence of runway incursions. Runway incursions are the consequence of multiple operational and/or environmental factors. Human error is known to contribute to almost every runway incursion. One major contributing factor for runway incursion is crew's lack of situational awareness during airport surface operations, induced by weather considerations, by complex airport factors or by crew technique itself; it is also caused by ATC issues. Various airport factors may affect pilot situational awareness, distract the crew, or lead to crew confusion. The recommendations to avoid runway incursions are manifold; Proper Crew's CRM/TEM skills, adequate communication technique, proper knowledge of airport surface markings, lights and signs and preparation of preparation of expected taxi out/in routing. Also runway incursion risk assessment on specific airport before flight may lead to aware of risk level and contribute to prevent runway incursion.

  • In the field of artistic creation, the iterative development of AI-generated video software has pushed the boundaries of multimedia content creation and provided powerful creative tools for non-professionals. This paper extensively examines two leading AI-generated video software, PIKA Labs and RUNWAY, discussing their functions, performance differences, and application scopes in the video generation domain. Through detailed operational examples, a comparative analysis of their functionalities, as well as the advantages and limitations of each in generating video content, is presented. By comparison, it can be found that PIKA Labs and RUNWAY have excellent performance in stability and creativity. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to comprehensively elucidate the operating mechanisms of these two AI software, in order to intuitively demonstrate the advantages of each software. Simultaneously, this study provides valuable references for professionals and creators in the video production field, assisting them in selecting the most suitable tools for different scenarios, thereby advancing the application and development of AI-generated video software in multimedia content creation.

  • Purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning of the hybrid digital culture and to find out the features of digital fashion shows appearing in the period of the hybrid digital culture as there have been almost no studies on the hybrid cultural values in the fashion shows and on the diachronic socio-cultural viewpoint of fashion show. The characteristics of hybrid digital culture were identified through the analysis of cases, and they were organized into three for this study; 'non-economic creativity', 'interactive communication' and 'transcendence'. Based on these characteristics, the features of hybrid digital cultures in the modern digital fashion shows were classified into the digitalization of presentation form and the acceptance by audience of digitalization using case studies. The features of digital fashion shows which appear through the presentation form in the digital fashion shows are as follows; 'Expansion of presentation media of runway' and 'Destruction of component factors of runway'. The features of digital fashion show in the perspective of audience's acceptance of digitalization are as follows; 'Audience's field experience through the live video', 'Participation by audience in interactive manner' and, 'Immersion in the virtual reality by the audiences'.

  • In this paper, the performance evaluation results of the timing synchronization schemes are presented for aeronautical mobile airport communication systems (AeroMACS). AeroMACS, which is based on IEEE 802.16e mobile WiMAX standard, uses the aeronautical frequency band of 5GHz with the bandwidth of 5MHz. The simulation model of AeroMACS is constructed and the evaluation for the timing synchronization performance is performed with the various channel models such as apron (APR), runway (RWY), taxiway (TWY), and park (PRK).

AeroMACS is based on IEEE 802.16e mobile WiMAX standard and uses the aeronautical frequency band of 5GHz with the bandwidth of 5MHz. The simulation model of AeroMACS is designed and the performance evaluation is conducted with the various airport channel models such as apron (APR), runway (RWY), taxiway (TWY), and park (PRK). The proposed synchronization unit was designed in hardware description language (HDL) and implemented on FPGA. Also, the real-time operation was verified and evaluated using FPGA test system.

Communication Characteristics of Fashion Shows Using Digital Images (디지털 영상을 활용한 패션쇼의 커뮤니케이션 특성)

  • In the fashion industry, the thing that shows the latest trends and makes issues is the fashion show. The function of fashion shows is changing from a promotional mean to a method of communication with customers. Recently, some fashion shows have used digital images and omitted traditional parts of a fashion show such as models, stages, garments, music and audiences. In this study, 30 fashion shows that used digital images were selected from the 2000-2010 collections of Paris, Milan, London and New York, and its communication characteristics were analyzed and discussed. The three categories of the communication characteristics are as follows: First, the shows used digital images as stage sceneries or effects to create desired stage effects. The digital images were used as extra tools to reinforce the concept of the fashion show. Second, the fashion shows used real-time videos to extend its presentation into the virtual space. The interactive videos were designed to encourage audiences to actively participate in the show. Third, the digital images were the focus of the show for the internet-only digital fashion shows. Since the Internet is not constrained by time or space, multi-faceted, communication between audiences and fashion designers or among audiences is possible. In addition, the number of audience it can reach is higher than traditional fashion shows. Digital images will be used more often in the fashion shows. In the future, fashion shows will try to become more interactive with audiences through the use of new digital image technology.

Keyword-based network analysis for contemporary fashion show affected by intermedia

  • Intermedia refers to the convergence of media. The advance of intermedia has not only facilitated the delivery of brand messages in contemporary fashion shows but also facilitated interactive communication. This study investigated the mediating roles played by various media in fashion and fashion shows, focusing on the phenomenon of intermedia in contemporary fashion shows. To investigate the impact of intermedia on contemporary fashion shows, we conducted a social network analysis-a promising approach for research into fashion trends. Analyzing 159 fashion-related articles published in the 2000s, we extracted intermedia-related words (n=253). The relation-ships between keywords made an analysis of between centrality, and cluster variables applied Clauset-Newman-Moore by using KrKwic and NodeXL programs. The results of the between centrality analysis indicated that the most important factors in contemporary fashion shows are "models" and "stages." We found that the impacts of intermedia on contemporary fashion shows can be divided into four categories: "model performance," "symbolic stage management," "new media utilization," and "convergence in arts." Our analysis thus identified considerable synergy between the characteristics of intermedia and contemporary fashion shows. These results have found intermedia-related commonalities in intermedia and fashion show, and this might increase customer interest in fashion, a positive outcome for the fashion industry.

  • On July $18^{th}$, 2003, Incheon International Airport Corporation(lIAC) signed the Construction Management Service Contract with KIDS consortium (composed of Kun-Won Eng., ITM Corp, Do-Hwa Eng, Space Croup) for the $2^{nd}$ phase construction protect consists of landfill, $\#3$ runway, remote Concourse, IAT, BHS, cargo terminal, etc scheduled to be finished by the end of 2008. KIDS dispatched qualified engineers to the Construction Management Division of IIAC for providing technical assistance to IIAC members to pursue project goals in tulle. within budget with appropriate quality level to build one of leading hul] airports for the Northeast Asia legion in the $21^{st}$ century.   • This study focused on cases about user experience using digital media as a marketing. The recent convergence of various types of media is resulting in new types of content. In a situation where approaching consumers through digital and virtual means is no longer an alternative or an option but a necessity, customers must be influenced and stimulated using various types of digital media. Because modern consumers prefer to participate actively rather than to be passively exposed to information, there is a need to maximize and optimize the consumer's experience using digital media. In this research, consumer experiences that utilized digital media were examined, and these case studies were analyzed from an experiential marketing perspective. How the 5 different types of Experiential Marketing proposed by Bernd Schmitt and Digital medias were combined in the digital marketing campaigns was examined. The case studies analyzed in this research were chosen out of widely popular digital marketing campaigns ran by beauty brands that used various experimental marketing types, such as 'Make-up Genius' of L'Or?al, 'Google Glass Tutorials' of Yves Saint Laurent and 'Digital Runway Bar' of The Burberry Beauty Box. This study classified that case samples into paid media, earned media and owned media based on sense, feel, think, act and relate that are the strategic experiential modules of Bernd Schmitt. This study could be confirmed various customer experience as a sense, feel, think, act and relate through that cases using digital media technology and marketing element of digital media. Through the process of examining which digital media types each marketing campaign utilized and how these types of digital marketing were combined, this research is significant in that it helps for the understanding of the current state of digital marketing and in that it can serve as the foundation for future research of efficient digital marketing.
