Location Service is required in position-based routing for VANET to provide position information. We propose Grid-based Location service spot(GLSS) scheme for optimized routing path to improve accessibility and load balance in location service. Specific area is defined as Location service spot(LSS) on each grid in this scheme, and all nodes in the grid geocast its location update message and location request message to each LSS. Location request messages are flooded throughout LSSs, location reply messages establish optimized route from the source grid to the destination grid. We evaluated GLSS which establishes optimized route on the grid comparing GPSR in consideration of road condition and geographical features.

Wireless sensor networks are installed in various environments and collect sensing data through wireless links. The quality of a wireless link may be unstable due to environment causes and hardware performance in wireless sensor networks. Since the change of the link quality may cause data loss, sensor nodes need to adaptively estimate the change of the link quality. Also, the routing protocol should deal with this situation. In this paper, the adaptive link quality estimation and routing scheme in the large-scale wireless sensor networks are proposed. When the quality of a link is unstable, sensor nodes agilely estimate the quality of links, and the new route is selected. When quality of a link is stable, the link quality is occasionally estimated so that the energy consumption is reduced. Moreover, sensor nodes exchange less beacons in order to reduce an overhead in dense networks. In the case of sparse network, the sensor nodes exchange more beacons for finding a better route. We prove that the proposed scheme can improve the energy efficiency and reliability.

An ad hoc network consists of nodes with limited energy. Therefore, the data transmission can fail abruptly due to lack of energy of transmitting node. A previous work PAMP proposed to build multiple low-energy paths to support stable packet delivery exploiting the nodes with low energy. It has energy-reservation scheme and multi-path selection scheme for stationary wireless ad hoc networks. In this paper, we propose an extended version of PAMP by incorporating network coding opportunity in path selection process. The simulation results show that our proposed scheme shows better packet delivery ratio and lower energy consumption compared with PAMP and a legacy energy-aware multipath routing protocol REAR.

The growth of mobile devices and the increase of using them have required the support of realtime multimedia application in wireless environments. Especially, wireless ad-hoc networks without central management system and with dynamically changing network topology need much researches of QoS routing for multimedia applications. However it is impossible to support the hard realtime QoS for these dynamic networks. In this paper, we propose a QoS routing scheme by using QoS DAG that is maintained by each mobile node and contains the QoS information for neighbor nodes. In order to maintain the QoS DAG, each node transmits its QoS information to neighbor nodes by local broadcasting, and the neighbor nodes update their QoS DAGs by the received message. In our proposed scheme, it is possible to search the QoS path efficiently by the QoS DAG without searching it in the whole network.

Data routing in wireless sensor networks must be energy-efficient because tiny sensor nodes have limited power. A cluster-based hierarchical routing is known to be more efficient than a flat routing because only cluster-heads communicate with a sink node. Existing hierarchical routings, however, assume unrealistically large radio transmission ranges for sensor nodes so they cannot be employed in real environments. In this paper, by considering the practical transmission ranges of the sensor nodes, we propose a clustering and routing method for hierarchical sensor networks: First, we provide the optimal ratio of cluster-heads for the clustering. Second, we propose a d-hop clustering scheme. It expands the range of clusters to d-hops calculated by the ratio of cluster-heads. Third, we present an intra-cluster routing in which sensor nodes reach their cluster-heads within d-hops. Finally, an inter-clustering routing is presented to route data from cluster-heads to a sink node using multiple hops because cluster-heads cannot communicate with a sink node directly. The efficiency of the proposed clustering and routing method is validated through extensive simulations.

In the recently years, there has been a big interest in ad hoc wireless network as they have tremendous military and commercial potential. An Ad hoc wireless network is composed of mobile computing devices that use having no fixed infrastructure of a multi-hop wireless network formed. So, the fact that limited resource could support the network of robust, simple framework and energy conserving etc. In this paper, we propose a new ad hoc multicast routing protocol for based on the ontology scheme called inference network. Ontology knowledge-based is one of the structure of context-aware. And the ontology clustering adopts a tree structure to enhance resilient against mobility and routing complexity. This proposed multicast routing protocol utilizes node locality to be improve the flexible connectivity and stable mobility on local discovery routing and flooding discovery routing. Also attempts to improve route recovery efficiency and reduce data transmissions of context-awareness. We also provide simulation results to validate the model complexity. We have developed that proposed an algorithm have design multi-hierarchy layered networks to simulate a desired system.
Advances in wireless sensor network (WSN) technology have enabled small and low-cost sensors with the capability of sensing various types of physical and environmental conditions, data processing, and wireless communication. In the WSN, the sensor nodes have a limited transmission range and their processing and storage capabilities as well as their energy resources are limited. A triple umpiring system has already been proved for its better performance in WSNs. The clustering technique is effective in prolonging the lifetime of the WSN. In this study, we have modified the ad-hoc on demand distance vector routing by incorporating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) based dynamic clustering. The proposed scheme, which is an efficient and secure routing protocol for wireless sensor networks through SNR-based dynamic clustering (ESRPSDC) mechanisms, can partition the nodes into clusters and select the cluster head (CH) among the nodes based on the energy, and non CH nodes join with a specific CH based on the SNR values. Error recovery has been implemented during the inter-cluster routing in order to avoid end-to-end error recovery. Security has been achieved by isolating the malicious nodes using sink-based routing pattern analysis. Extensive investigation studies using a global mobile simulator have shown that this hybrid ESRP significantly improves the energy efficiency and packet reception rate as compared with the SNR unaware routing algorithms such as the low energy aware adaptive clustering hierarchy and power efficient gathering in sensor information systems.
As the research on home network technologies, sensor network technologies, and ubiquitous network technologies makes rapid progresses, wireless ad-hoc network have attracted a lot of attention. A wireless ad-hoc network is a temporary network formed by a collection of wireless mobile nodes without the aid of my existing network infrastructure or centralized administration, and it is suitable for ubiquitous computing environments. In this paper, we suggest an interconnection scheme between the wireless ad-hoc network environment based on multiple path source routing protocol and a Mobile-IP based network environment. This scheme reduces the overhead of route re-establishment and re-registration by maintaining multiple paths between the mobile host in wireless ad-hoc network and the base station in mobile-IP network. Also it puts the base station in charge of function that performs translation between wireless ad-hoc network packets and Mobile-IP packets, reducing the load of mobile hosts. In this paper, our simulations show that our scheme outperforms existing interconnecting schemes with regards to throughput and end-to-end delay Also we show that our scheme outperforms multi-paths approach using disjoint routes with regards to routing overhead.
In recent years, with the development of devices to collect multimedia data such as small CMOS camera sensor and micro phone, studies on wireless multimedia sensor network technologies and their applications that extend the existing wireless sensor network technologies have been actively done. In such applications, various basic schemes such as the processing, storage, and transmission of multimedia data are required. Especially, a security for real world environments is essential. In this paper, in order to defend the sniffing attack in various hacking techniques, we propose a multipath routing scheme for physically avoiding the data transmission path from the risk factors. Our proposed scheme establishes the DEFCON of the sensor nodes that are geographically close to risk factors and the priorities according to the importance of the data. Our proposed scheme performs risk factor detour multipath routing through a safe path considering the DEFCON and data priority. Our experimental results show that although our proposed scheme takes the transmission delay time by about 5% over the existing scheme, it reduces the eavesdropping rate that can attack and intercept data by the risk factor by about 18%.
The efficient provision of multicast service to moving hosts in mobile computing environments is not so easy task. Bi-directional tunneling scheme causes overhead about encapsulation and triangular routing. On the other hand, remote subscription scheme need freDuent tree reconstruction, which is inefficient for rapid moving hosts. In this paper we propose Mobility Based Mobile Multicast(MBMOM) scheme which is based on host's mobility information. Ultimately MBMOM try to find the strong points of remote subscription scheme and hi-directional tunneling scheme. If host's mobility speed is considered to be high, multicast packets are forwarded using hi-directional tunneling scheme from home agent continuously. If host's mobility speed is considered to be slow, remote subscription scheme is applied for foreign agent and it try to join multicast tree. We developed analytical models to analyze the performance of proposed scheme and simulated our scheme compared with MOM(Mobile Multicast), RBMOM(Range Based MOM), and TBMOM(Timer Based MOM) schemes. Simulation results show that our scheme has shorter transmission delay than above 3 schemes in the aspect of host's mobility speed and multicast group size.
