  • Generally, the digital controller has many advantages such as high precision, robustness to electrical noise, capability of flexible programming and fast response to the load variation. In this study, we have established proper mathematical equivalent model of Brushless DC (BLDC) motor and estimated the motor parameter by means of the back-emf measurement as being the step input to the controlled target BLDC motor. And the validity of proposed estimation method is confirmed by the test result of step response. As well, we have designed the reasonable digital controller as a consequence of the root locus method which is obtained from the open-loop transfer function of BLDC motor with hall sensor, and the determination of control gain for variable speed control. Here, revised Ziegler-Nichols tuning method is applied for the proper digital gain establishment, and the system stability is verified by the frequency domain analysis with Bode-plot and experimentation.

  • A high motive pressure thermal vapor compressor(TVC) for a commercial multi-effect desalination(MED) plant is designed to have a high entraining performance and its robustness is also considered in the respect of operating stability at the abrupt change of the operating pressures like the motive and suction steam pressure which can be easily fluctuated by the external disturbance. The TVC having a good entraining performance of more than entrainment ratio 6.0 is designed through the iterative CFD analysis for the various primary nozzle diameter, mixing tube diameter and mixing tube length. And then for a couple of TVC having a similar entrainment ratio, the changes of the entrainment ratio are checked along the motive and suction pressure change. The system stability is diagnosed through the analyzing the changing pattern of the entrainment ratio.

  • The present study aims to investigate the shimmy stability behavior of a single wheeled nose landing gear system. The system is supposed to be equipped with an electromechanical actuator capable to control the shimmy vibrations. A Proportional-Integrative-Derivative (PID) controller, tuned by using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) procedure, is here proposed to actively damp the shimmy vibration. Time-history results for some test cases are reported and commented. Stochastic analysis is last presented to assess the robustness of the control system.

  • In recent years, an increasing number of experimental studies have shown that the practical application of mature active control systems requires consideration of robustness criteria in the design process, including the reduction of tracking errors, operational resistance to external disturbances, and measurement noise, as well as robustness and stability. Good uncertainty prediction is thus proposed to solve problems caused by poor parameter selection and to remove the effects of dynamic coupling between degrees of freedom (DOF) in nonlinear systems. To overcome the stability problem, this study develops an advanced adaptive predictive fuzzy controller, which not only solves the programming problem of determining system stability but also uses the law of linear matrix inequality (LMI) to modify the fuzzy problem. The following parameters are used to manipulate the fuzzy controller of the robotic system to improve its control performance. The simulations for system uncertainty in the controller design emphasized the use of acceleration feedback for practical reasons. The simulation results also show that the proposed H∞ controller has excellent performance and reliability, and the effectiveness of the LMI-based method is also recognized. Therefore, this dynamic control method is suitable for seismic protection of civil buildings. The objectives of this document are access to adequate, safe, and affordable housing and basic services, promotion of inclusive and sustainable urbanization, implementation of sustainable disaster-resilient construction, sustainable planning, and sustainable management of human settlements. Simulation results of linear and non-linear structures demonstrate the ability of this method to identify structures and their changes due to damage. Therefore, with the continuous development of artificial intelligence and fuzzy theory, it seems that this goal will be achieved in the near future.

  • This study reports for the first time about a stability indicating RP-HPLC method for qualitative and quantitative determination of acalabrutinib in bulk and dosage form and in presence its impurities 1, 2 and 3. The chromatographic separation was carried on Zorbax XDB-C18 (250×4.6 mm; 5 µ id) as stationary phase, Phosphate buffer pH 6.4 and methanol 80:20 (v/v) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, UV detection was carried at wavelength of 238 nm and the analysis was completed with a run time of 15 min. In these conditions the retention time of acalabrutinib and its impurities 1, 2 and 3 was observed to be 3.50, 4.83, 8.40 and 9.93 min respectively. The method was validated for system suitability, range of analysis, precision, specificity, stability and robustness. Spiked recovery at 50 %, 100 % and 150 % was carried for both standard and impurities and the acceptable % recovery of 98-102 was observed for acalabrutinib and both impurities studied and the % RSD in each spiked level was found to be less than 2. Stability tests were done through exposure of the analyte solution to five different stress conditions i.e expose to 1N hydrochloric acid, 1 N sodium hydroxide, 3 % peroxide, 80 ℃ temperature and UV radiation at 254 nm. In all the degradation condition, standard drug acalabrutinib was detected along with both the impurities studied and the degradation products were successfully separated. In the formulation analysis there is no other chromatographic detection of other impurities and formulation excipients. Hence the developed method was found to be suitable for the quantification of acalabrutinib and can separate and analyse impurities 1 and 2.

  • A robust nonlinear observer, utilizing the sliding mode concept, is developed for the dynamic positioning of ships. The observer provides the estimates of linear velocities of the ship and bias from slowly varying environmental loads. It also filters out wave frequency motion to avoid wear of actuators and excessive fuel consumption. The main advantage of the proposed observer is in its robustness. Especially, the observer structure with a saturation function makes the proposed observer robust against neglected nonlinearties, disturbances and uncertainties. Since the mathematical model of DP ships is difficult to obtain and includes uncertainties and disturbances, it is very important for the observer to be robust. A nonlinear output feedback controller is derives based on the developed observer using the observer backstepping technique, and the global stability of the observer and control law is shown by Lyapunov stability theory.. A set of simulation was carried out to investigate the performance of the proposed observer for dynamic positioning of ships.

  • This paper presents an extensive robust analysis of a ${\mu}$-controller in the hybrid system for various uncertainties using the benchmark cable-stayed bridge. The overall system robustness may be deteriorated by introducing active devices and the active controller may cause instability due to small margins. Therefore, a ${\mu}$-synthesis method that simultaneously guarantees the performance and stability of the closed-loop system (robust performance) with uncertainties is used for active devices to enhance the robustness in company with the inherent reliability of passive devices. The robustness of the ${\mu}$-synthesis method is investigated with respect to the additional mass on the deck, structural stiffness matrix perturbation, time delay of actuator, and combinations thereof. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed control system has the good robustness without loss of control performances with respect to various uncertainties under earthquakes considered in this study. Furthermore, the control system robustness is more affected by the perturbation of structural stiffness matrix than others considered in this study. Therefore, the hybrid system controlled by a ${\mu}$-synthesis method could be proposed as an improved control strategy for a seismically excited cable-stayed bridge containing many uncertainties.
