  • In this paper, an Embedded solution for fast navigation and precise positioning of mobile robots by floor features is introduced. Most of navigation systems tend to require high-performance computing unit and high quality sensor data. They can produce high accuracy navigation systems but have limited application due to their high cost. The introduced navigation system is designed to be a low cost solution for a wide range of applications such as toys, mobile service robots and education. The key design idea of the system is a simple localization approach using line features of the floor and delayed localization strategy using topological map. It differs from typical navigation approaches which usually use Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technique with high latency localization. This navigation system is implemented on single board Raspberry Pi B+ computer which has 1.4 GHz processor and Redone mobile robot which has maximum speed of 1.1 m/s.

  • Today, with the development of the Internet and mobile technology, consumers' purchasing patterns have shifted from offline to online. In addition, due to the recent COVID-19, online purchases have significantly increased, and accordingly, the courier industry for logistics delivery has also grown significantly. Various logistics robots are being operated in many industrial and can reduce the labor intensity and physical and mental fatigue of workers. However, if the logistics robot does not properly recognize the people or environment around it, it can lead to a serious accident. We conducted that how logistics robots can perform safe work in a working environment such as a logistics warehouse through the application of ISO/DIS 21448 (SOTIF) to autonomous logistics transport robots. This result is expected to contribute to the operation of unmanned logistics warehouses using AGV.

  • Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors have been most widely used in terrestrial robotic applications because they can provide dense and precise measurements of the surrounding environments. However, the reliability of LiDAR measurements can considerably vary due to the different reflectivities of laser beams to the reflecting surface materials. This study presents a robust LiDAR-based mapping method for the varying laser reflectivities in indoor environments using the framework of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). The proposed method can minimize the performance degradations in the SLAM accuracy by checking and discarding potentially unreliable LiDAR measurements in the SLAM front-end process. The gaps in point-cloud maps created by the proposed approach are filled by a Gaussian process regression method. Experimental results with a mobile robot platform in an indoor environment are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

  • The design concept of varaiable structure control is useful not only to stochasic systems but also to adaptive control systems. The Dynamic equation of vertical three linkage robot was derived. And it was simplyfied according to the scheme of control strategy. And we specify the form of model. Thereafter the error dynamic equation was derived between the real state of the plant and state of the model. Some simulations were performed to control robot manipulator applying the methodology of the variable structure model following adaptive control.

  • The Army has presented eight game-changers for future warfare through 'Army Vision 2050,' including Intelligent Combat Robots, Super Soldiers, Energy Weapons, Hypersonic Weapons, Non-lethal Weapons, Autonomous Mobile Equipment, Intelligent Command and Control Systems, and Energy Supply Systems. This study focuses on Intelligent Combat Robots, considering them as the most crucial element among the mentioned innovations. How will Intelligent Combat Robots be utilized on the future battlefield? The future battlefield is expected to take the form of combined human-robot warfare, where advancements in science and technology allow intelligent robots to replace certain human roles. Especially, tasks known as Dirty, Difficult, Dangerous, and Dull (4D) in warfare are expected to be assigned to robots. This study suggests three forms of Intelligent Robots: humanoid robots, biomimetic robots, and swarm drones.
