Resource recovery and harmless treatment of waste oil-in-water drilling fluid

  • Destablization and demulsification is a difficult task for the treatment of waste oil-in-water drilling fluid because of its "three-high" characteristics: emulsification, stabilization and oiliness. At present, China is short for effective treating technology, which restricts cleaner production in oilfield. This paper focused on technical difficulties of waste oil-in-water drilling fluid treatment in JiDong oilfield of China, adopting physical-chemical collaboration demulsification technology to deal with waste oil-in-water drilling fluid. After oil-water-solid three-phase separation, the oil recovery rate is up to 90% and the recycled oil can be reused for preparation of new drilling fluid. Meanwhile, harmless treatment of wastewater and sludge from waste oil-in-water drilling fluid after oil recycling was studied. The results showed that wastewater after treated was clean, contents of chemical oxygen demand and oil decreased from 993 mg/L and 21,800 mg/L to 89 mg/L and 3.6 mg/L respectively, which can meet the requirements of grade one of "The National Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard" (GB8978); The pollutants in the sludge after harmless treatment are decreased below the national standard, which achieved the goal of resource recovery and harmless treatment on waste oil-in-water drilling fluid.

Preliminary Study of Energy and GHG Footprint of CFRP Recycling Method using Korea Database

  • Awareness of resource conservation and pollution prevention has been continually increasing. The proven benefits from CFRP's unique combination of light weight and high strength compare to conventional material is well suited for minimizing fuel consumption during vehicle in particular rail operation. Responding the awareness, this work intends to study CFRP's recycling method that is not only technical performance but also environmental view point. According to prior work of technical performance test, this work aims at quantifying the footprint of energy and GHG derived from the two appreciated performance of pyrolysis and acids recycling methods. The streamline LCA is the concept for systematic assessment. The boundary is scoped at the recycling activity, consequently, the data in and out from the specific target activity are obtained under the gate to gate data collection. Its function is recovery carbon fiber. To count and compare function, functional unit is set at 60% of recycling rate. Korea database is mainly source for acquiring the footprint of both. The numerical results presented that the energy footprint of acids and pyrolysis is 164.95 and 1,199.88 MJ-eq., respectively. Meantime, the GHG footprint of is 1,196.22 and 5,916.08 g CO2 eq. for acids and pyrolysis. In summary, the acids recycling method is, in regarding the environmental performance, better than pyrolysis recycling method.

폐정화조를 재활용한 다목적 빗물관리시스템 구상 및 경제성 분석 (Recycling of a discarded septic tank as a rainwater management system and it's economic feasibility analysis)

  • Since the end of the 1990s, sewer pipe improvement works have been going on: most septic tanks have been thrown away and discarded. These discarded septic tanks amounts up to 370,000 based on the project plan 2005-2008: it is a serious squander of nation's resources, a contaminating means that buries toxins under soil, and a cause of a expensive waste. Research on recycling of discarded septic tank as a new resource is in urgent need. This research suggests plans to recycle discarded septic tank as a rainwater management facility, solutions to water cycle recovery in the limelight, and economic analysis of the plan. In the case of a recycling discarded septic tank as a rainwater management facility will socially benefit to support economical adequacy, discard cost saving of septic tank and water supply and sewage cost reduction will come out. Consequently a rainwater management facility converted from a discarded septic tank leads to decentralization of the rainwater management system, which anticipates a positive effect on recovery of urban water cycle.

한내 석유화학 폐촉매로부터 귀금속의 회수 연구 (Recovery of Precious Metals from Spent Catalyst Generated in Domestic Petrochemical Industry)

  • 석유화학산업에서 발생된 폐촉매에는 귀금속계 금속이나 회유금속들이 잔조해 있는데, 이들 유가금속을 회수하는 것은 환경보존과 자원재활용 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 백금계 폐촉매로부터 귀금속을 회수하는 연구를 수행하였다. 폐촉매 시료로는 Naphtha로부터 에틸렌을 제조시에 사용했던 알루미나담체 0.3% Pd 폐촉매와, 원유 정제 후 벤젠, 톨루엔, 크실렌 등을 제조시에 사용한 알루미나담체 0.3% Pt/Re 폐촉매를 사용하였다. 시료들은 배소과정을 거쳐서 탄수와 황 등 원유로부터 유입된 가연성 물질들을 제거하고, 분쇄한 다음 6N 염산 및 왕수로 침출하였다. Pd는 Fe분말을 사용한 석출법에 의하여 침출액 중에서 금속 Pd로 회수하였다. Pt/Re 폐촉매 경우에는 염산 및 왕수로 침출 후 Fe 분말을 사용하여 Pt를 먼저 회수한 다음, 여액에 황화나트륨을 첨가하여 Re 황화물로 침전시켜서 Re을 회수하였다. 본 연구에서는 폐촉매 침출시 6N 염산을 침출액으로 사용하여 왕수를 사용한 것과 비슷한 정도의 침출효과를 얻을 수 있었는데, 이것은 침출시 소요비용을 줄이고 폐산처리시에 왕수보다 쉽게 처리할 수 있다는 점에서 공점상 효과적이다.

화학침전을 이용한 발효액의 젖산 회수 및 유기물 특성분석 (Recovery and Characterization of Lactic Acid from Fermentation Broth Using Chemical Precipitation)

  • 유기성 폐기물 소화공정의 발효액에서 젖산(lactic acid)을 회수하기 위해 화학침전법을 평가하였다. 젖산(lactic acid)의 회수율을 높이기 위하여 화학침전제 종류와 교반속도 및 침전시간 등 반응조건이 회수율 향상에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 화학침전제의 종류에 관계없이 주입양이 증가할수록 젖산(lactic acid) 회수율이 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, CaO가 $Ca(OH)_2$$CaCO_3$에 비하여 높은 회수율을 나타냈다. CaO를 사용한 반응조건 최적화 실험결과, 교반속도 180 rpm, 침전시간 24 h, ethanol 주입량 25%(v/v)에서 회수율이 48%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 발효액 내 젖산(lactic acid)의 농도만 고려하여 주입할 침전제의 양을 계산하였기 때문에 실제 적용을 위해서는 발효액의 유기산 종류 및 농도를 고려하여 침전제의 투입량을 결정해야할 것이다. 유기물의 정성적 분석(FEEM, SEC) 결과로 볼 때 침전공정은 유기산의 특성에 큰 영향을 미치지 않았다.

  • Resource recovery and recycling of materials and products including polyurethanes are viewed as a necessity in today's society. The problems of recycling polyurethane wastes has major technological, economic and ecological significance because polyurethane itself is relatively expensive and its disposal by burning is also costly. In general, the recycling methods for polyurethane could be classified as mechanical, chemical and physical. In the chemical recycling method, there ate hydrolysis, glycolysis, pyrolysis and aminolysis. This study was carried out glycolysis using new method such as sonication and catalyzed reaction. There are kinds of recycled polyols were produced by current method(glycolysis) but, this study were with catalyzed reaction and sonication as decomposers and the chemical properties were analyzed. The reaction results in the formation of polyester urethane diols and then the OH value which is determined by the quantity of diol used for the glycolysis conditions.   • Animal and crop production systems were integrated on a single farm. This integrated farming system recycled nutrients on the farm. The separation of animal and crop production with the introduction of cheap commercial fertilizers, farms were not used land-applied manure. The on-line manure matching is one of the emerging business in the achievement of recycling and resource recovery. The manure matching actively promotes the reuse and recycling of by-products and manure. This study constructs to manure matching information system to solve the exchange problems between herders and croppers. Manure matching web sites designed. This paper introduces a web-based animal manure matching system. A manure matching service, part of the manure transport, links farmers who produce excess manure with farmers who can use the manure. Farmers registered with the service have requested manure. The manure matching service supports the transport project by linking farmers with excess manure with those farmers who can utilize the manure safely as a nutrient source. The goal of the service is to protect water quality by fostering efficient land application. Benefits to those who use the manure network include reduced disposal costs, lower purchase costs and recycling of manure. The manure matching is based on the principle that 'one persons waste is another person's fertilizer.' It provides a free online matchmaking service for environmentally safe manure recycling management system.

  • Magnetic separation and sulphidization-flotation for recovery of nickel and copper from two types of scraped condenser wastes, containing 8- l4% nickel and 2-4% copper, were studied. The effects of magnetic field intensities, classification, and grinding on the recovery of nickel and copper were investigated. According to the characteristics of nickel and copper in the scraps, classification-magnetic separation, different magnetic field intensities, and stages-grinding-cleaning of rough concentrate were investigated. The nickel concentrates containing 38-65% nickel with 84-97% recoveries and the copper concentrates containing 25-43% nickel with 35-60% recoveries were obtained by classification-magnetic separation. In addition, copper concentrates containing 26-45% copper with 76-88% recoveries were obtained by sulphidization-flotation from magnetic tailings and middling products.

폐네오디뮴 자석 침출용액으로부터 Slurry 환원법을 이용한 철 Nano 분말 제조 (Preparation of Iron Nano-particle by Slurry Reduction Method from Leaching Solution of Spent Nd magnet)

  • 네오디뮴 폐자석 침출액으로부터 희유금속인 네오디뮴을 회수하는 연구와 함께 네오디뮴과 같이 침출되는 철의 부가가치를 높이는 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 네오디뮴과 같이 침출되는 철의 유용자원화를 위한 기초연구로 철 나노분말을 제조하는 실험을 수행하였다. 본 연구는 $FeCl_3$ 용액을 철 분말 원료로, 분산제는 $Na_4P_2O_7$와 Polyvinylpyrrolidone를 이용하였고, 환원제로는 $NaBH_4$, 철 나노분말 핵생성 촉진제 seed로 염화팔라듐을 사용하였다. 제조한 철 나노분말을 XRD, SEM을 이용하여 분말의 형상 및 크기를 분석하였다. Fe와 $NaBH_4$의 몰 비를 1 : 5로 조절하여 철 분말을 제조하였으며, 이 때 철 분말은 구형이었으며, 입도는 약 50 ~ 100 nm 였다. 분산제 $Na_4P_2O_7$의 경우 100 mg/L에서 철 이온의 제타포텐셜이 음의 값을 가졌고, $FeCl_3$ 과 PVP와 Pd의 질량비 1 : 4 : 0.001에서 분산이 양호하고, 입도가 100 nm 인 철 나노분말을 합성하였다. 같은 반응 조건에서 폐 Nd 침출액의 Fe 이온을 pH를 조절하여 슬러리화한 후 실험을 진행한 결과, pH 9에서 구형의 철 분말을 합성할 수 있었으며, 20 L 이상의 Scale-up 공정에서는 분산제 없이 환원제로 175 nm 크기의 철 분말을 합성할 수 있었다.

동의 폐자원흐름분석을 통한 자원순환 활성화 방안 (The Activation Plan of Resource Circulation of Copper through Analysis of Waste Resources Circulation Flow)

  • 기존 사례조사를 바탕으로 국내의 구리에 대한 물질흐름 분석을 Up-stream과 Down-stream으로 구분하여 실시하였으며, 2010년 기준 폐기물로 배출된 이후의 폐기 재활용 흐름에 대해서 현장조사를 통한 분석을 실시하였다. 배출 이후의 물질흐름을 배출 및 수입, 수거 및 폐기, 자원회수, 제품생산 및 수출의 4단계로 나누어 각 단계별로 분석했다. 재활용 단계에서 36.8%의 자원순환율 도출 되었고, 이를 바탕으로 각 단계별로 자원순환율을 증진시킬 수 있는 여러 방안을 제시하였다. 배출 및 수입 단계에서는 지정을 세분하여 적절한 경우 이를 폐기물 자원으로 분류할 것을 제안하였다. 이런 폐자원에 대해서 할당관세를 적용을 제안하였다. 수거 및 폐기 단계에서는 부과세 편취 해결과 입찰제도의 개선을 통한 수급 안정화 방안을 제시하였다. 자원순환단계에서는 전문적인 파쇄 및 분쇄 업체를 육성방안과 대기업과 중소기업간의 상생방안을 제시하였다. 제품생산 및 수출 단계에서는 현재 구리스크랩 재활용 상황에서 재활용 활성화를 위해서 폐기물 처리시설의 등록 면제 요청하고 있으나 이보다는 폐기물 처리시설로 등록을 위해서 필요한 모든 인허가를 통합적으로 처리하는 방안을 제시하였다.
